I kinda jest because of course there are gaming personalities I've found and like, but the big ones that are considered for things like this always, always suck. I think this year has been brill. 3 genuine GoTY contenders for me and 2 games I have interest in but haven’t played yet - Ghosts (waiting until I get a PS5) and Hades (waiting for a big boy console release). VII Remake is the one I’d go for. I actually had it as Last of Us 2 for the longest time but lately I’m finding myself looking back at VII as better. I’d be happy with either or Doom Eternal winning. Will no doubt be Animal Crossing though which I have zero interest in & bounced off in a big way when I tried my partners copy unfortunately. Personally, 4 of the games up for GOTY are my top 4 for the year and the other two I’m yet to play. I think it’s been a pretty amazing year for me although nothing has reached the heights of Sekiro last year.
