Maryokutai Posted September 1, 2023 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Seems like this game had no deadline at all, meaning they just got told to make a Mario game and when it's done, it's done: https://www.wired.com/story/super-mario-bros-wonder-nintendo-switch-mouri-tezuka-interview/ Looking at the bigger picture with studios closing left and right and games getting pushed out way too early, it's absolutely nuts reading something like this. I guess in some way it's obvious because this is guaranteed to sell double digits in the millions, but the fact that Nintendo managed to get into a position where they can pull this off (and I doubt this is an isolated case) seems completely unreal compared to how any other publisher operates. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
