  1. Midnight Suns is currently on sale on PSN, for £18. I finished the PS5 version. There’s a separate trophy list for PS4. So I’ve double dipped, so I can play this all over again. Honestly, I cannot recommend this game highly enough. The reviews that had it as one of the “worst games of that year”, are, to put it politely, fucking insane. You won’t regret it. That’s the Andy Kurosaki guarantee (Caution. Andy’s guarantee is not cash redeemable, and quite often he’s off his tits on Skittles and Fizz Wizz. The house may be repossessed if you cannot keep up with your repayments. Oh, and I am Kaiser Soze).

  2. I’m going in blind. Got it pre-ordered and been a proper sad bastard and even took Friday and Monday off from work next week so I can binge it! Can’t wait. Not done that for a game in literal years! Just glad to see it’s not broken at all going from those scores. That was my only concern after the poor performance talk from the demo. & playing FFXVI demo and that looking like shit or being a stuttery mess.

  3. Common sense prevails, they are working on getting psvr2 working with pc https://blog.playstation.com/2024/02/22/coming-soon-to-ps-vr2-zombie-army-vr-little-cities-bigger-wanderer-the-fragments-of-fate-the-wizards-dark-times-brotherhood-and-more/ Now maybe people will buy these things, maybe Sony listened to me 👀 This is great news cause it looks like a great 'tethered' device (better image quality than streaming) for if you want to use it for seated experiences, and you get the added 'bonus' of accessing exclusives on PS5 It really is such a no brainer and it's a shame it took a while for them to consider it, but it's clearly the correct approach. It worked out great for the Quest headset

  7. Bought this on Switch last night and played the first 3 levels. Not going to make a big post about it but have to say initial impressions aren’t great I would say my big problems are figuring out the movement. This game is very Sonic the Hedgehog influenced which I like. Very much about momentum, there are loop de loop style things that Penny grabs on to and spins around on things and goes really fast after. I really like this bit and the overall talent for this kind of gameplay, you can see the devs get it and are good at it. But just finding out how to use the moves in a way that gives satisfying momentum is not apparent. The game is also a bit exploration focused, which I feel is counter intuitive to the flow of the game and the big timer constantly ticking up in the lower corner I don’t particularly like the character or designs. But I do like the colour, music, vibe and overall PS1 style ‘wackiness’ of the visuals I also stopped playing because I hit a kind of glitch where Penny got stuck on a wall and had to retry the level. Unfortunately my actual response to that was turning the Switch off I’m not DF but I think this is 30fps, but good 30fps. I don’t know if it’s deadlocked, but the controls didn’t feel sluggish at all This is just initial impression and I want o play more of it and like it, because I like what it’s going for. But the controls are a bit hmm and it doesn’t have that spark Sonic Manaia had. Sonic Mania has a rare X factor to it where it feels excited to be on the screen. The game is the equivalent to a firework. This game has the makings of that but without the X factor This is no review by any means, but based on the first 20 minutes or so, it’s not a strong start or immediately fun

  9. This has so much potential. Lifting one side of the book to make a cart roll down the page is the kind of out-of-the-box puzzle you'd see in some DS games, but without even the need of a hardware gimmick. If that kind of creativity permeates this from start to finish this will be something very special.

  10. 2XKO actually. Illaoi looks excellent in motion. Wonder if we'll still be alive when this comes out.

  11. To me, VR2 would have to drop significantly in price for me to buy one. I only know one person that owns one in my town. But as he’s revealed himself to be an utterly horrible person, it’s not as if I can ask to borrow it. I typically buy stuff from Shopto, as I like paying for things in installallments via Klarna. That’s how I get my PS5 games, it’s how I got my Switch. But even on there, it’s fully priced at £530. I’m just not paying that. Not unless I win the lottery.

  12. This is alright imo, the gameplay can be quite good at times, trying to setup a big triangle of doom to contain as many bad guys as possible - that can be pretty fun. some of the bonus levels/quests are like a puzzle game and pretty good too. overall quite liked the story but it's told far too slowly, there's too much dialogue and with other messing around between levels (fusing/equiping/persona/buying guns/assigning skillz etc.) especially near the start it takes ages between any gameplay. picks up a bit at the end but already probably outstayed its welcome by then. probably is a bit too easy too but the challenges on each level mitigate that a bit like trying to do the level in a certain number of turns. the graphics can be pretty stylish like other persona games. although the music maybe not as much, didn't seem as good as (the extremely high bar of) other persona games. not sure i'd fully recommend it, at times i was enjoying it, but other times not so much. give it a try if you want i guess - did anyone try it?

  13. No one asked but FFXIV is Fuck Empires Fuck Dragons Fuck Empires (again) Fuck Light Fuck Despair on another note though, Remake's story has a weird ending so it's worth recapping on spoilers for that

  14. Yeah, I never heard that either. Thing is, enough people have said it's great for me to believe it, but I'm very burnt out on these characters and that puts me off moreso I even bought the Spiderverse films on 4k on a black friday sale but haven't turned them on yet, I shouldn't have bought them at all 😩 I/We need a cultural detox from the superhero stuff, thankfully this year is quiet for that other than Deadpool. Unfortunately that means a potentially cool game gets a miss

  15. I don’t remember seeing that anywhere? It was on loads of “overlooked” and “underrated” lists though. Regardless, agreed. It’s a fantastic game. I’ll always speak up for it whenever it’s mentioned. & I hate card based deck building. That’s how good it is.

  17. I’ll be honest, I’ve never been the biggest DI fan. I finished the first game, that was it. Bailed on both Dying Light games. But DI2 is just absolutely glorious. Does it do anything new? Not really. Did I have a mile wide smile on my face from start to finish? You better bloody believe it.

  19. I disagree but it's not worth an argument. The Switch is old as fuck at this point, it's amazing how long it's lasted, especially as it was effectively a generation behind when it launched

  20. I can see it on Switch with some bonus content, like a red cap for Joel and a peach dress for Ellie for maximum immersion.

  21. The Bayonetta spin-off now £21 at Amazon and The Game Collection https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BQF2GNKK?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=pepperugc03-21&ascsubtag=2652903513 I really enjoyed this. It starts off as puzzle platformer extremely similar to Brothers a Tale of Two Sons where you control each character with each half of the pad. But much better imo. It then gradually evolves into a Metroidvania with a pretty disastrous map. But if you stare at it for long enough it sort of makes sense. You might also be like - This is nothing like Bayonetta at all it's just a name on the box. Yeah, for like 98% of it, but just the ending is like oh I see. Not the best game ever, but this a good price for it, i think
