Only played the main game enough to open up the Season of Infamy dlc which I didn't own on the PS4 and did the episodes I'd never played... that's enough of that, finished.

Quite the killer app for the system IMO, like Tetris was in the day.

Could do with a sequel but, apparently, that ain't happening.
retroed Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Level Devil - Steam Deck Abathor - Steam Deck Great 2D action platformer in a retro style. Varied throughout, and a wonderful soundtrack. 9 hours well spent. Highly recommended.

(PC) (Steam) Unavowed (PC) (Steam) This one got lost in the little outage the other week. A fun and interesting point&click adventure from Dave Gilbert/Wadjet Eye. It takes a little inspiration from rpg games by giving you a small amount of choice about your character's background, and party members with different abilities. Although the story is fixed, this gives you some different dialogue lines, abilities can affect how you might solve some of the puzzles along the way. Avowed (PC) (Game Pass) I played the first Pillars of Eternity game, which is the world this is set in, but I don't remember much other than a few names of gods and places. I really enjoyed this, it's visually interesting and fun to explore. I didn't expect the amount of climbing and first person platforming, but it turned out to be quite forgiving and a fun way to get around. 1
retroed Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Level Devil - Steam Deck Abathor - Steam Deck The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors - Steam Deck I picked this up in a sale recently. 8 stages with a boss at the end of each. Awesome game, from start to finish.

A puzzle-platformer taking massive inspiration from the likes of Limbo or Inside. Greyscale, lots of lights and shadows etc. It looks fantastic, the dystopian environment with massive structures is very atmospheric. It's a decent game, not as good as Limbo and Inside perhaps. There's nothing particularly challenging in there, and I was finished in just over 2 hours. The final act was a little weak, halting the momentum of the game up to that point for an info dump explaining what's going on in the world, but overall I enjoyed it.
DANGERMAN Posted May 18 Author Posted May 18 I bought that too, but it runs really badly on Steam Deck

An arcade style Formula 1 racing game, with gorgeous Virtua Racing graphical style. The single-player mode has you racing in various eras of F1 style cars from 1980's to 2020's on circuits that do a fantastic job of capturing the feel of several real-word circuits without being actual recreations of them. It looks and sounds great and is a lot of fun to play (although the other driver ai isn't the greatest), and an absolute bargain for £10 on Steam.

Its only real non-budget related shortcomings are some wonky vehicle segments and it featuring the most annoying and despicable sidekick I've ever seen in a game.
