  1. Excellent first impressions post. I definitely forgot about this game, having loved the first - and that was all because of disappointment over the new gameplay direction. See how you get on and I might (probably will) dip my toe.
  2. I remember not liking 3 because you had 6 active party members, and on the blurry switch you couldn't see what the hell was going on in any battle. I always thought I'd have another go when Ninty updated their system, but I've sort of gone cold on idea now. And on Nintendo in general tbh.
  3. Finally went to the wedding (the first real post prologue destination) after questing around the map for about 40 hours. I think I'm overpowered for where I am in the story, but it's such an engaging open world I never really felt I was exploring aimlessly or doing busy work. It does get easier and levels work very much as you'd want and expect them to. Of course if you're going to quit then you're probably going to quit early when the challenge seems a bit overwhelming. Get some decent gear and a bit of levelling under your belt and the road seems much smoother.
  4. Now you're talking!
  5. I understand. This thing is a bit like a life choice rather than a game. If you want an excellent GP RPG that doesn't offer too much pushback, I'd recommend Outer Worlds 2.
  6. They'll be asleep at night, with possibly only one keeping watch. Their throats will be unprotected. Just saying. Go and get a dagger. I'm not sure why you think that's not an option in this game. I do it all the time.
  7. That would mean me turning slightly to the right in my comfy gaming chair. Are you insane?
  8. Feckin hell. I'm using a controller and my lock pick is shaking like I've got the DT's. I'm very much given to pickpocketing people's keys rather than having to face anything more than a medium lock.
  9. I think it saves at every story beat in a quest, which can be 3 or 4 saves in the course of a single quest. It's really not the harsh, souls type save system that people piss about online.
  10. Yeah, they have to belong to you for a whistle to work. The nomad horse master will 'break' a stolen horse for you. For a fee.
  11. I've decided to be all goodness and light in this to NPC's while being a right thieving bastard when the sun goes down. In fact I like nothing better than buying some expensive item off a merchant and then breaking into their house while they're asleep and stealing back my dough. Then come morning I'll tip my hat to them and wish them God's speed. Peasant fools. And now I've chanced upon a quest where I can pick up some real heister's gear and I feel my Henry's nature coming together. Hope he doesn't end up on the gallows.
  12. Oh you'll be interrupted alright, just not by a cutscene. May your sword be sharp and your helmet hard.
  13. 1/1/26 - Outer Worlds 2, PC 23/1/26 - Ghost of Tsushima, PC 4/2/26 - Ratchet and Clank (2002) PS3 22/3/26 - Dragon Age, Veilguard, PC Excellent cast of characters in a heartfelt and spectacular RPG. Some think it overstays its welcome. I wanted more!
  14. If you play it like me you won't see another cutscene for 20 hours
  15. In my opinion, after 20 hours, this is one of the best games I've ever played. Of course you have to submit to it's pace - it's a medieval sim, so to speak. But they must have definitely smoothed a few things over since the first game (which I haven't played). There's definitely no problem in picking up arrows, for instance. Just get the save anytime mod off Nexus. You'll hardly use it, but it's handy in certain situations, like getting ambushed on a fast travel after you've just spent 10 minutes selling your spoils and sharpening your sword 😀
