Actually @one-armed dwarf, if you turn the diff up you're likely to get the gameplay u seek. I'm pretty sure the parry window doesn't change (how could it get any effing narrower) so that won't make any difference.

The main path is always lit by lamps. You can explore than relocate yourself by that. Yes. I'm back to where I was. I've actually enjoyed getting better at the game. Its becoming a favourite game of mine. Of course that could all go to shit🥺

A little bit of an eyebrow raiser there. I think the game is pretty much nailing everything it's going for - wonderful graphics and art direction, excellent acting, a simple and easy to follow story, a very atmospheric game world and sense of place, and an invigorating battle system. I can understand if, as an experienced gamer, the fighting can seem unbalanced. If you seek out every nook and cranny in the game world and fight every battle (like me) you'll get overpowered. Same as nearly every other turn based rpg. But isn't that part of the fun? And if you want to tune the experience - well, there mightn't be sliders for individual gameplay components but there's probably things to try. You want easy parrying? Knock it down to easy but don't use attribute points or level up weapons, or play as a team of 2 only, or even solo. People are definitely doing stuff like that out there. Personally I always get a kick out of getting a bit overpowered. Plus there's always an optional boss lurking somewhere to put you through your paces. I found one earlier in the Over world that's gonna take serious skills to beat. But I'll have him. Mark m'words.

Probably this year. And then play fallout London.

I think it's because games tend to loop themes for battles, and then another looped theme for exploration or dialogue. After a while it just grates on me. For open world RPGs I just really like to pretend I'm walking in a field.

Music down to 15% for me. This is quite normal for me tho, especially in open world western RPGs like Skyrim where I turn it off completely. I feel that role playing such games means hearing the sounds of the natural environment. If I turned around and there was an actual orchestra following me around, sure, then I'd turn it up. Although I might ask the conductor what he was up to.

I don't understand Nag on this one. I'm rooting for Xbox on taking this direction into Windows gaming. Personally, as long as they don't feck it up, I'd be more inclined to buy the Xbox handheld rather than any other, as long as all my usual shop fronts are integrated.

So what I think happened is the pc crashed whiled loading my continue and, after a restart the Xbox app offered a cloud save or a 'this pc' save which, as usual, I went for. I reckon the game must have done some kind of initial pre game save during the crash, and this is the one I selected when the computer came back on - thus selecting a save with no gameplay and deleting my 12 hour cloud save. Not allowing the player to do a manual save in case something like this happens is just pure bullshit on the part of the developers, and I always despair a little when a game goes down that route. There's always something you want to do that you just can't. I'm mulling over a restart. I was quite enjoying it, and starting to get a grip on the systems. But I feel a bit cheated. Maybe a break first with a pallette cleanser. I've been mulling over getting a bit of Prince of Persia action going lately.

Well I'm buggered on this. The game crashed on loading so I restarted and for some reason my continue game option is gone. 12 hours gone and no way to recover it. This has happened to me a few times when game doesn't offer you a chance to manually save. I don't know why they do that.

If you carry on carrying the torch for Xbox, Nag, you'll just become a pc gamer by default. It's time to start working on your steam and gog libraries. In less than a year I've copped about 40 games, while spending somewhere in the region of £12.50.
