Always wanted to play Riders but not the sort of game I buy. Age of Mythology is supposed to be great as well

 

But there’s newer, bigger games I want to play this month so doubt I’ll be using Gamepass at all

They’re not just removing future 1st party games from the standard tier, they’ve removed previously available 1st party games from the standard tier!

I can get the reasoning behind a tiered service, one that gives you access to a standard selection of games, one that has a premium selection too - but to make a brutal cut, rather than include a transitional period, seems pretty harsh on anyone who is currently playing any of those games.

 

However that's sort of the nature of GP that any games, from any tier, might be removed at short notice.

In hindsight I don't get why they even reshuffled and renamed the tiers. Ultimate was self-explanatory (= you get all the stuff), as was Core (= you get some stuff). They should simply have raised the prices of these two, people would have moaned, and everyone would have moved one. Now they're actually taking stuff away while kind of nudging people towards a pricier tier, which is just a bad look all around.

It's pretty much no different to how the tiers on the PlayStation sub work now... if you look at what was included before the changes the tiers made no sense whatsoever.

This all goes back to the FTC trying to raise the case again because of “degraded product”

 

Xbox have weighed this and gone ahead anyway. So they must feel safe legally. But realistically there’s no way this could be thought of as anything else other than degraded

 

They have completely fucked Gamepass in 2 months

 

Seemingly PC is unaffected. Madness. 
 

Unrelated but what if Indiana Jones takes advantage of PS5 Pro features and Xbox has a less good version 

 

Between that and PC gamepass everything they do will be better everywhere that isn’t an Xbox

I wonder what the breakdown was for each tier previously. Personally I couldn't see why you'd bother with the more expensive tier is you had an Xbox (unless it included Gold?)

As far as I recall online was included in the cheapest, excluded from the mid and back in again for Ultimate in the previous tiers... that's been sorted now.

Doesn't Ultimate also include EA Play too whereas Core doesn't ?
