It was brilliant. It used the expansion pass and it had boarders. So yeah it looked fancy but the tracks and music were so good. I have fond memories of playing the snowy level at Christmas.

Yea World Driver was great. Closest thing the N64 had to a Gran Turismo even if it was more arcade leaning still. 
 

Beetle Adventure Racing was far better than it had any right to be too. 
 

Sticking with racers. San Francisco Rush 2049 was great as well. I know it was on other consoles but N64 is where I played it so that’s where I place it.

I poured CRAZY time into this game!

I had run with RR 64 too but it wasn't quite as good.
Happy to see if on Switch, deffo gonna have a go.

Nintendo also recently updated their sales numbers. While interest in the Switch is dropping, it recently crossed 150m, and these are the current numbers of their ten bestselling games:

MK8 almost being at 70m (and that's without counting the 8m on WiiU) is just ridiculous. It actually sold almost as many copies as the latest Mario Party in the same timeframe since the latter's release. Echoes of Wisdom meanwhile sits at 3.9m, which to me seems pretty good for that game. Interestingly, the percentage of digital sales has declined since this time last year, probably an outlier in the overall landscape.

 

With numbers like this you can kind of see why they weren't in a hurry to move to next gen. They will never again get profit margins this large.

I wonder if the digital sales have dropped for them because of who it is left playing the Switch. I'm not sure how it would split exactly, but I'd have thought parents buying for young kids would go physical, and people like us might skew physical too, enough to alter the percentages a bit if the mass market has moved on a bit, maybe?

It might also be because Nintendo digital prices are generally horrible. Their 1st party stuff is rarely discounted and even when it is the discounts aren’t that good and even when they’re not bad you probably bought it already anyway

Dunno why that's a problem, it looks like a good package. 

 

Weird that certain games are digital downloads tho, these games have a smaller file size than the screenshot in that tweet probably.

Probably just to make more money. If those versions were included there wouldn't be a good reason to have two separate releases.

 

But I could see me picking up one of these, too, if it's real (one of the physicals, that is).

 

Edit: what makes me question this a bit is the Nintendo Switch Online stuff in the image. Traditionally nothing from that service is available as purchase alternatively, and it would be unusual for them to 'give them away' if they could sell quite significant numbers.

My problem with this, if real, is it should be part of NSO. This is exactly what the service should be for. But it’s Pokemon so they know they can get away with it by selling them again. 
 

Tbh I don’t even think I would buy these games. It just seems like an insane rip off

I just googled classic Pokemon collection and there’s images of that NSO/switch case image above in news articles used many months ago.

 

Idk if this makes it more or less likely but just know it’s nothing new.

Yeah, I mean the names of the new games are not “classic collection” and that box art is shoddy. But there is a confirmed Pokemon Direct next week, which I think was already known about, so could be possible but we’ll see
