Maf Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 No, Lobo is a barbaric, mercenary type from outer space with Wolverine style healing factor and gets his kicks from money and murder (mostly murder) But he’s a “wild man” type character that I think would fit Momoa better In terms of the story, the bad guy in the Supergirl comic was a ruthless space pirate who I can’t remember the name of. Lobo could easily fill that role and is an actual character, so would make sense to swap him in
Maryokutai Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 I found out about Lobo because Toriyama referenced him once in a DB manga. It's probably decent casting but it's a bit like the Downey-as-Doom situation for me were I'd rather have seen someone completely unrelated to this universe be the actor behind the makeup.
Maf Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 I’m torn on the RDJ stuff because narratively it’s a really strong idea but business wise it’s a really bankrupt idea Even though I watched both versions of Justice League I didn’t like either and I never saw the Aqua Man films so I’m fine with this casting.
DANGERMAN Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I wonder if he's still under a contract with them or something? I don't get it. I know there's plenty of actors that have appeared in multiple superhero films, but usually its different companies or the original film was years ago and kind of failed (Rhys Ifans is in the new Venom, even though he was in Spiderman films, including the one Venom makes an appearance in) Anyway, my point is, I was going to be looking at it (assuming I watch it) wondering why Aquaman is in it. Assuming they're tied together in some way. I won't be the only person
Maf Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Switch 2 and Superman trailer this week? What is a blow job from a hot blonde next? Some of the James Gunn-isms. Hmm. It had to be expected. I think the Fortress appearing/disappearing and the sped up healing actually interesting new ideas. I hope the rest of the movie lives up to what I want it to be. This clip is maybe leaning a bit too hard in to James Gunn style, though I will watch it nineteen thousand more times just to make sure

Maf Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Can’t tell if it’s click bait or people are just dumb but I keep seeing “Why is he hurt by the sun? Doesn’t it give him powers?” Him being hurt by the sped up recovery is actually a cool idea I’ve never thought of or seen in Superman before. But it makes perfect sense. He’s borderline invulnerable to external damage but if he’s insides are fucked up and of course it would hurt as it rapidly twists and turns to fix itself
Maf Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Perfect. This what people need to see. A Superman who is all good and has attitude at the same time. This is it 1
Maf Posted May 14 Posted May 14 THEY’RE COMPLAIMING THE FILM IS TOO BRIGHT, LIGHT AND WOKE GOOD My only complaint is they’re using the old Christopher Reeve Superman music too much. I get it. But let that Superman go. Let’s have a new theme
Maf Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Imagine if in the movie when people are mad at Superman some idiot shouts “Does that S stand for woke?!” And then the film just pauses for a second and goes silent to acknowledge the stupidity and just moves on
one-armed dwarf Posted May 14 Posted May 14 This movie looks really good, and that theme has a great cinematic legacy so using it is a good way of saying it's not like the grimdark shit that Snyder was making Maybe it's a bit Force Awakens in how it does that, but that was also a good movie The credits on the video say that Anthony Carrigan is in it, I really liked him in Barry. Wiki says the character is 'Rex Mason / Metamorpho' 1
Maf Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Metamorpho is the guy sitting in the cell with Superman creating Kryptonite. He looks like a very secondary character created by Lex in this movie. But we’ll see. Maybe he has a bigger role
Maf Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I LOVE THIS TRAILER!!!!! You don’t understand how important it is for me, at this present time, to have a Superman that is actively stopping wars and conflicts and he’s main motivation is “People were going to die!” It. Is. That. Simple. I don’t care what anyone says. We need a Superman that, even if not naming real world things, shows the difference of basic rights and wrongs and sets examples. In a world that has become so dominated by culture wars and political tribalism we need the literal symbol of truth and justice to say something, anything. And I was worried being a corporate franchise that would get buried and we’d just get another mid Superman film except this time it’s funny. I know it’s not a world changer but for a Superman movie, I love it all the same. I love he’s frustration that it’s just that simple. Stop making it complicated. Not everything is. Basic human rights and saving lives is not complicated This easily my most excited thing in entertainment this year. Hey, buddy. Eyes up here Superman is the best!

Maf Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Interesting info here that in this DC universe superheroes have been around for 300 years, Superman has only been around for 3 years, and he is officially the strongest superhero of them all
Maf Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Officially an animated series happening. I hope this turns out well, this is one of the best comic series DC has ever done, but it’s so fundamentally comic book I wonder how you do an adaptation in to anything else Also interesting this is the second Tom King project to be made in to a movie/tv show under James Gunn. Clearly helps to have friends in high places.
