Bob
100 billion dollars in revenue from China. That sounds like enough money to compromise your morals.
one-armed dwarf
Wow, even Marco Rubio has commented on it https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/bjw535/blizzards-hong-kong-screw-up-is-officially-an-international-incident First time I've found myself in agreement with him

one-armed dwarf
You mean double plus good. Which means bad But to answer your question @Nag it's all explained in the vice link above the tweet so you can read that. This has become bigger than a gaming story now, its international news Edit, Fox news covered it too. Kind of wonder if Trump will wade into it. There's mass walkouts at Blizzard as well, and planned protests at Blizzcon. It's a huge disaster for them and they deserve it

Maf
This morning I found out that Zero Punctuation is still a thing. I don’t think it has changed a single bit since the last time I watched it about 9 years ago. But the video also had a 185k views so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. I guess I just associate those videos with an era of video games that is quite old now
AndyKurosaki
I still regularly watch ZP, Yahtzee is still on fine form. His take on Kingdom Hearts 3 genuinely made me laugh.
OCH
My brother was all excited recently. He's got a new phone on contract, one of Samsung's newest androids (I didn't pay attention to the name). Why was he so excited? He had Shining Force 2 on there. All that 2019 technology and he was more impressed by a port of a 26 year old game.? Craymen Edge
This trailer for a new game launching soon on Kickstarter. Enchanted Portals. It somehow manages to be all different original artwork yet feel identical to Cuphead. I'm not mad at it, they're not ripping anything off from Cuphead - it's clearly all high quality original work, but it still feels weird.
radiofloyd
Yeah I think it’s come under a pretty strong backlash. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/10/magical_2d_platformer_enchanted_portals_accused_of_being_a_cuphead_clone
HandsomeDead
Oof. I think it's fine to use traditional animation and apply it to a game. Games other than Cuphead have done it but why did they did they chose to make it so similar in terms of gameplay? I'm pretty sure you could do a boss rush shooter with traditional animation and not look that identical to Cuphead.

HandsomeDead
Not to get too deep, but what do you mean by offence? Have I found something morally disgusting to me? then yes. One of my favourite games does. But to the point I had to put it down... then I guess one comes to mind; but it's more disappointment than offence. Edit: fuck it, I think I should stop being vague. God Hand (up there as one of the GOATs) has a boss battle early on with a pair of guys coded as gay and they're the worst stereotypes that Japanese games pull out from time to time. It's ladgeful as fuck and the game would be better without it. The other is Killer Is Dead. I love Suda's games and do get what he was going for by doing a dorky parody of James Bond and how he pulls useful chicks to progress but the act of having to look down womens' cleavage and up thier skirts to unlock weapons just made me put that shit right down. Defenders argued you "didn't have to do it" and they're right but I like my options and gating off the variety behind that is a big problem to me. But bear in mind I was never clutching my pearl-strings, more being disappointed and just asking why.
AndyKurosaki
Some proper nice statues there, especially the Luigi one. I had the exact same reaction to Killer Is Dead’s T&A. I wasn’t offended. But it was proper cringeworthy.
DANGERMAN
I think for the most part @Nagwe know going in what stuff is like so it's rare to play something that bad. That said I'm also a white man so it's rare something personally offends me, but I've definitely felt uncomfortable playing stuff, usually because of sexism Actually, I've just remembered Shadow Complex. The right leaning politics of that turned me off it, which is a shame because its a good game outside of that
Jimboxy
I remember playing Black Ops 2 (I think, the one with Sam Worthington and his imaginary friend?) and had issues with it being gun porn and a military recruitment advert. I'm not sure quite what I expected if I'm honest and I've played other COD's since and not particularly had the same issues but I did with that one. I couldn't finish Catherine either as it made me feel a bit skeezy.
one-armed dwarf
Yeah I guess military aggrandisement is as 'offended' as I can imagine I could get with a game One of the CoDs, 5 I think, had a very on the nose 'support our troops' montage coffins turning into a US flag (might be misremembering) Granted, that was about the fight against the Axis powers. But still
