Yeah, I'm not falling for that. I would consider buying a console for a new game but an HD update, they can fuck right off. I still have it on my Gamecube and it does me fine!

Fed up of Nintendo doing this now, not got enough spare time to repeat my life over again :)

Looks so gorgeous. I really dig that's it's not just a HD jobby. I hope the gamepad becomes the tingle tuner ;)

Despite the cheeky wink, that is a good point. I did play Wind Waker once with that dang Gameboy Advance hooked up and it was fairly pointless as I'm already fluent in the language of Zelda games so it rarely showed me something I didn't already know. But for all those darn newbs it could be useful, so maybe it would be a good idea to whack Tingle's thingamibob into the Gamepad for those that may need it.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will launch in North America and Europe this October, and in Japan on September 26, Nintendo has announced.

The game will feature 1080p visuals utilizing shaders and refined textures. While gameplay is largely the same, some adjustments have been made to improve the game’s overall tempo.

One of these changes is to the Tingle Tuner, which you receive in the original GameCube version to connect to GameBoy Advanced. Instead, you’ll get the Tingle Bottle, in which you can leave Miiverse messages and screenshots to toss into the sea to wash up on other players’ shores.

As detailed by Polygon, Hero Mode will be available from the start and it contains an extra difficult variant of The Wind Waker in which hearts aren't found in the environment or even by fallen foes. Instead, the only way to heal will be through potions and fairies. Additionally, enemies will deal double damage. Hardcore! Now let's hope Nintendo has finally implemented an option to disable that incessant beeping when you're low on health. A guy can dream, right?

This HD remake will also contain a "Swift Sail" that speeds up your boat for those long treks across the seas. Players will also be able to leave messages, i.e. Miiverse comments and/or screenshots, in a bottle to be found by other players.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will be out on Wii U on 4th October in Europe.
