I can see why it might be underperforming. There is a lot of repetition as per the current open world formula. Plus, aside from some town specific NPC's. The lame trope characters such as Roche (and this pair that abducted one of the robed figures that I saw last night) really detract from the actual game. It's so apparent that they don't belong in this narrative. That might put some people off.

Worrying. I’ve a lot of problems with Rebith but I still really want them to finish this story off. Hope they still get to fulfil that vision. Plus more time with this battle system and Tifa is always good.

& stop with the Roche slander @OCH. Hes one of my favourite characters. I enjoyed the bit with the pair of kidnappers too.

I dont really think characters like Roche have anything to do with that

I think its more that the games are overly marketed to and tailored to players of the original, which are a shrinking and aging demograph

(This discuss came up on the previous page I know but half as much as remake is new info at least)

Personally I think it's the opposite. When most people initially wanted FF7 remade. The intent was a graphical overhaul. A cosmetic upgrade. REmake 1, was cited somewhere I read once, as the ideal for a remake of FF7. Not for the spin-offs to be shoehorned into the story. None of which were interesting. Nor for OC's that have been in a dozen anime and JRPG's before. They forgot this game sold because it was a solid JRPG and instead wanted to use the brand recognition on something else.

'Despite the release of Foamstars', wasn't expecting such comedic gold in there.

I get the feeling FF just has become too niche* to be viable as an exclusive title, which I suppose they already talked about prior and are pivoting accordingly. Not sure if reinventing the wheel for the finale of a trilogy is a good idea, would likely result in a prolonged development cycle with no guarantee that it would attract new players.

*not quite the right word, but player expectations and production values have seemingly left its sales potential in the dust.

Hopefully simultaneous releases on PC will help out. I saw yesterday FF16 on PC and max players of about 12k or something? Doesn’t seem the best, but the hype has died down. If they release the next games at the same time maybe they’ll do much better

DF descend down to save Rebirth from sales mediocrity, and possible PS Pro as well?!?

Wow. Tbh I’ve seen very little of Rebirth, and don’t think I’ve seen it run for any length of time. Looking at this video, I can’t believe it looks like that on PS5.

This is why I got headaches while playing it. It might not seem like a big deal in a screenshot, especially if you're looking at it on a phone but when you're looking at a TV or PC screen like that for even 30 minutes to an hour, trying to see enemies and find your way around a combat situation it gets very wearying cause of how out of focus it looks

The original FFVII is a much lower resolution and doesn't have that issue at all cause it doesn't look out of focus like this, it's not just about the pixels it's about the weirdly muddied detail that fucks with your head as you look at it. The weird 'film' on top of everything on the image

Requirements for PC

No idea what graphics features this will have, Remake was a pretty rubbish PC port so the bar is very low and expectations not high either. But it's bound to look better than the above post's screenshot. Question is will it be stuttery like Remake

I'm not sure I see someone with a RTX2060 and an i3 having 16gb of ram tbh, so presumably that's a false number and it'll run off 8gb.  Aside from that those specs look surprisingly reasonable considering the performance on PS5
