I’ll put my thoughts up after a  bit more time with it. But I played 2 hours straight this morning, and it had me in hysterics. It’s ridiculously hilarious.

Arriving early, PokéManz! The pair came in an insanely oversized box ala ShopTo. One is for a Christmas present, one might not be. Considering how many PokéMon Scarlet videos are popping up on YouTube. As the OH didn't have a preference. I might go for Violet.🤔

I'm balls deep in Persona 5 Royal on Xbox via Game Pass and wanted to own a physical copy, as it could well end up being one of my favourite games of all time.

 

 

Steelbook launch edition from Game on offer for £32.99, annoyingly had to pay a fiver on top for delivery (wtf).

Argos has these at £39.99 at the minute... figured I'd better jump on that.

I'm late posting this, but I bought God of War the other week

 

I also got Yakuza 2 Kiwami. I got it digitally at launch, and I've got the original PS2 game, but in terms of having the modern releases physically it's the only one I was missing

I've got a bunch of stuff coming once the post catches up, but here's some retro stuff I got recently

 

 

Bust A Move on the DS, I'm surprised I don't already own it because it seems an obvious series for the DS

 

Futurama was a tenner in a charity shop, I remember hearing it was actually decent.

 

Time and Eternity I only heard about recently. It's an RPG with cel shaded low frame characters, like Guilty Gear. Again apparently it's good, it certainly looks interesting

I bought a few things from the NISA (the Nippon Ichi store not the corner shop chain) store

 

 

Witch and the Hundred Knight I played years ago on PS3, but it was a review code so wanted it physically. Disgaea 6 will likely stay in it's wrapper as there's no point starting another one with 5 unfinished. Rodea the Sky Soldier, apparently the 3ds version isn't very good, I like the Wii version, but this is just one for the collection while it was on sale

 

So there you go, 3, at best, so-so games

I genuinely haven't heard anyone say nice things about Callisto other than Nag and John Linneman at digital foundry, and I think John mostly just likes it cause of the ray traced reflections lol

I've seen the guy that made one of those Boomer Shooters being into it as well (the Dusk guy I think) but just because the combat can be interesting.  His case seemed solid, I'm willing to try it with that mindset rather than a survival horror experience.

It's not scary... it's more AA than AAA but some of the hate it's generated is fucking ridiculous.🤷‍♂️

I still do want to try it at some point but I’ll probably wait until it’s cheaper and pick it up again. With the little time I get to play I get a bit paranoid nowadays about getting stuck in a game I’m not enjoying and making myself finish it, I never ideally want to repeat the Elden Ring situation from earlier this year again. So I guess I was trying to get ahead of the curve and taking a safer game instead if that makes any sense at all.
