I'm glad they're doing a sequel, but I didn't love the first game like I thought I would. a 2nd attempt with more money behind them might be what they need though

I gave up on the first one. For all the hype saying it was like “Fallout in space”, I just couldn’t be arsed to play it. 
So I can’t say I’m bothered about this being Xbox exclusive.

I felt much the same way. I played about 3 hours and was just bored senseless with it. 

 

I think I've only ever liked 2 Obsidian games in Pillars 1 and South Park: TSoT.

I enjoyed the first, good dialogue and writing but I was definitely bored by the end and it’s not even that long a game. Never fully understood the battle system thing too. 
 

More than willing to give this a go though. Definitely one of those games where the potential is there to make the sequel a top tier game IMO.

I'm in the same boat. Weird game, there are moments were I really enjoyed it but five minutes later I'd have to force myself to continue playing. Never finished it because I need a certain storyline to keep me interested but there was none of that in Outer Worlds, at least in the first ten or so hours.

 

I think with MS money the second one could be great though. In five years.

I liked the idea of the original. But the actual gameplay absolutely bored me. I had an issue with figuring out where it actually wanted me to go. On multiple occasions, I’d exit an area, following the icon to where the next mission objective was. Only for it to immediately tell me to go back where I came when that area loaded. That happened a few times, until I went “Oh fuck this” and uninstalled it.

I’m a fan of fun silly trailers like this. Interesting to see which games fares better between this and Avowed.

 

It could be case of (like this sequel suggests) Obsidian gets ints into their stride with sequels, and both franchises improve over time.

This'll be on Game Pass so it's easy to say I'll give it a go... I wasn't the first games biggest fan but hopefully this improves on it.
