DANGERMAN
I'm slightly disappointed it doesn't look a bit better but I'm glad they've done some work on the controls
Hendo
Unrelated to Shenmue but they also announced a Megadrive Mini last night. You’d hope it will be decent rather than that AT travesty I have.
ThreeFour
Despite owning every MD emulator/mini going, I'm still interested in this. What's wrong with me ?
Craymen Edge
I never finished Shenmue 2, I might pick this up at the right price. I've thought in the past that they couldn't release them without doing something about the controls, so I'm glad to see that.
Sly Reflex
Shenmue, the original walking simulator. Also one of the dullest most over hyped game series ever to exist. If you've not played it and are jumping in, keep your expectations low.

illdog
I’m also in Camp “Never finished the second game”. I’m looking forward to this #forklifts
Sly Reflex
The second game has one if not the worst ending ever to grace a videogame. Spoiler It's basically an hour walk with some QTE's and a cutscene at the end that doesn't even feel like it should end right there. It's like watching a tv show that cuts off before you can get a season finale. Shockingly bad. It cannot be defended, it's so utterly and completely shit. ThreeFour
He's bitter about being rubbish at the QTE's. So. Many. Punches. To. The. Face.
retroed
I have never played a Shenmue game. Is there any point, with Yakuza here? Genuine question.
ThreeFour
Yes and no. The combat wasn't as free flowing/button mashy. It was taken from Virtua Fighter so it was slower and measured with timing and commands for different moves needed. There's some pacing issues, especially in the first one (job on the docks ?) and it goes at a slower overall pace. It plays similar but at a different pace so be prepared for that. It's a nice story though and it picks up in the second one. The ending is a bit wierd tho. Fans had a right to be upset how it was left, but he never got to fulfill the third installment...till now.
Sly Reflex
Not bitter, just not hoodwinked by this. If you want something like this you're better off going for Yakuza.
ThreeFour
Meh it's not a case of hoodwinked, more you got to respect your playing a game coming up 20 years old. At its time it was a very good game. Now, yeah you're probably better with Yakuza, but you might like to play something that inspired that series.
Sly Reflex
I played it when it came out. I can't imagine it's suddenly got any better. I think it's more to do with the game being SEGA's swansong rather than the game being stand out.
