one-armed dwarf Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Yes let's finally see what's going on with this new Doom game, and find out if Doomguy can still jump in the Dark Ages 🤔 There's some rumours out there about an Oblivion remake too, The Elder Scrolls game I mean. That would be mad weird
Maryokutai Posted January 9 Posted January 9 That'll be some decent publicity for Expedition 33, which is good. Wonder who's behind the question mark, because by this point we know about a lot of their projects. Maybe a new Double Fine game?
Maryokutai Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Some people online seem to be throwing around the idea that the mystery game might be a port of FFXVI. Which isn't too unreasonable I think, considering SE's latest messaging about multiplatform, plus they were already on the show last year with Visions of Mana. I'd be happy with that, I'd like to play that game.
HandsomeDead Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Missed this initial news. But there has been a recent addition to what the mystery game is. https://www.vice.com/en/article/ecco-the-dolphin-trademarks-renewed-as-xbox-developer-direct-teases-long-running-japanese-franchise-as-its-secret-reveal-could-it-be-happening-ecco-bro/ Quote “There’s also a mysterious fourth game, and I won’t spoil what it is, but our sources indicate that it is a new entry in a legendary Japanese IP which has decades of history, and should make a lot of fans happy.” The Vice article points to a recent Ecco the Dolphin trademark, which I don't believe it'll be for a second, but I'd cackle if it's true. I'm leaning towards Persona 6.

HandsomeDead Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Yes, like that since it's so fitting. Thinking about it more even P5 got a big reaction at TGS so maybe they will keep it for a crowd rather than a developer direct. Announcing a game here probably will be a smaller project, which now has me convincing myself it could be Ecco 😅
HandsomeDead Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Hungarian. Huh, I guess they could just be referring to ownership but I guess it probably isn't Ecco. Back to the dark, then. Could be anything. I don't think it'll be anything Capcom. But I stand by a Visions of Mana scale thing.
Sly Reflex Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I had no idea Ecco was Hungarian. I wouldn't have expected that at all.
Maryokutai Posted January 14 Posted January 14 While we're at it: the last game Ecco's designer made, Space War Arena on Switch, is actually a pretty fun, bit-sized, arcade-ish strategy title.
Maryokutai Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Microsoft thingy starts in 30 minutes if someone wants to watch it 'live'. 1
one-armed dwarf Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Platinum games doing Ninja Gaiden 4 is wild, but why aren't Team Ninja doing it themselves I wonder. PG need a win tho so hopefully that is what this will be.
Maryokutai Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Bit weird the remake is done in-house and the sequel is outsourced, but still a cool little two-hit announcement. Never really liked NG that much but there's a lot of people who are going to be happy about that shadow drop for sure.
HandsomeDead Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Well that's a pleasant surprise, I'm looking forward to that 🙂 Just a solid action game, that's more than fine, I'm not even asking for much.
Maryokutai Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Except for Ninja Gaiden 4 everything shown comes out before the end of May, which is quite nice as well. And NG4 launching in autumn isn't too far either. Nice little presentation I think.
one-armed dwarf Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Doom The Dark Ages looks good but the curse of finally falling in love with Eternal is that that combat system looks pretty boring to me. I really don't like Sekiro-esque simon says combat, press attack when it turns green (unless it's MGR, no I'm not a hypocrit) But it does look good, and the focus on big levels with interesting exploration will probably make up for it But I reckon Eternal will be sort of like the DMC4 of the series, the one that the weirdos really like and evangelise over, with Dark Ages being much more flattened in combat options but more widely liked cause of how less of a skill curve is needed to get on with it
Maf Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I’m glad Ninja Gaiden 2 has come back around maybe this time someone can tell me how you’re meant to survive those exploding turtle bosses Apart from that I really liked that game back on 360. Will look forward to giving it a go sometime between now and the week it leaves Gamepass
