    Saints Row Reboot

Damn it looks like this game sold quite well. https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/09/ps-store-sales-charts-saints-row-sells-well-despite-mixed-reception Another article I quickly read the headline of is the game needs to sell 2 million to break even. Seems like it'll probably do that, which is lucky. What's unlucky is it means this game is holding it's value! I know it's only been out for a couple of weeks but c'mooooooon where's my under £30 Saints Row game. I want to play it too.

    The Hot Topic Returns

I’ve had way more enjoyment out of these consoles this gen than I did by the same time with the PS4 gen. Not sure that answers the question but it’s been at least a big step up than last time around
  3. Hmm. I suppose it is really. In a loose sense the mechanics are the same as before. But the newer games are more sprawling, cross country action RPG’s with a bigger focus on straight up fighting and looting. Where as classic AC is in more dense cities, has a greater focus on stealth, parkour and traversal. The way the games work are similar sort of, but the way the game’s feel and the overall experience of the newer games I think are quite different. And when done well I prefer the more classic style game. But also yes just seeing a return to the classic AC look and things is also doing a lot for me. The way the series has spun out in to pirates, soldiers and vikings was never as cool to me as the idea of a secret history of Assassins.
  4. In terms of conflict they’ve all tried to kill each other except for Ghost, I think. Sounds like the MCU part of D23 was a bit of a bust overall. People were expecting the cast of Fantastic Four, X-Men, Deadpool. Instead they got some logos for things already announced, stars on stage who do the usual of waving and not saying anything then a picture of the Thunderbolts. The biggest thing was a trailer for Captain Marvel 2 but I don’t think they’re releasing that to the public. As far as I can tell, going off speculation to reality, sounds like people are a bit disappointed. More cracks in the unbreakable Marvel machine. This is a fan event, this should have been easy. Wierdly I think the only new thing I heard that got me excited is The Leader is coming back for Captain America 4, and it’s played by the same guy from the (underrated) Hulk movie 14 years ago.

    Final Fantasy XIII

Never read no code entries in Mass Effect either. Who has time to read when there are buttons to press.

    Final Fantasy XIII

Started playing this on PC today and took a few tries to work out a weird hair texture bug but now I’ve got it going wow this shit looks crazy. I lost forgot how good the opening cutscene is. The battle music in this game is killer too. However it throws you to it’s bullshit with no explanation and painful dialogue. I was hoping to understand what’s going on but i’m lost already.

    New TV

I’ve never seen a QLED up close playing real content. Only in stores with those incredibly produced, high quality screensaver shots which real content like games and films don’t match. I went OLED over QLED first time just because that’s what all the reviews recommend. But now because I’ve had them for like 5-6 years or however long it’s been I know what I’m getting so sticking with it. If I could see a QLED up close and play games on it for a while I could definitely be interested, but OLED for now.
  8. All rumours confirmed. Here's the cinematic trailer. There was no gameplay today. Out in 2023. Usually I'm quick to shit on cinematic trailers because it's basically false advertising. However this is clearly going to be a classic Assassin's Creed game so I'm all right with it, because in a general sense I know what this game is going to be. It actually makes me really excited to get back to classic AC. White hoodies, missing fingers, dense cities, back to stealth. It's also been 8 years (I think, when this game comes out in 2023) since a classic AC game so I can't wait to see it with new graphics, picking up some new mechanics and systems rom the newer games and it's been such a long time I bet the break helps this feel refreshed. So yes usually I would shit on cinematic trailers but since I already kind of know what game it's going to be, seeing they're taking that game back to an aesthetic and style I really like works and gets me excited.
  9. The Thunderbolts team I can't believe the bad guy from Ant-Man 2 is coming back. She must have been shocked to get that phone call, she's the most forgettable Marvel villain in all 30 films or however many it is Before I said this was Marvel's Suicide Squad but looking at the team this is like Marvel's replacement Guardians of the Galaxy mixed with Marvel's Suicide Squad.
  10. 10/09/22 - A Plague Tale: Innocence (Xbox) 1000/1000g
  11. I’ve been playing this finally. Think I’ve got the last 2 chapters to go. This game is great! It’s very simple. I wouldn’t say it’s automatic or quite plays itself, but it’s not that far away. However it makes it a really relaxing, nice smooth game. Which is ironic considering it’s about a supernatural plague and being hunted by medieval soldiers. Also are they English, French, Spanish, Italian? I have no idea. Either way this game is very enjoyable. Glad I finally got to it. On Xbox it seems to run at 120fps as well? Or at least it’s supposed to. The couple of times I checked the counter it’s probably more around 90 but that’s pretty good. The only thing I don’t like about it is that in bright areas it’s so washed out. I played with both the brightness settings on the TV and in game and I can’t find a solution. I think it just looks like that. But that aside, it’s a really cool game. Should finish it this afternoon and now I’llbe ready for the sequel in October.
  12. So the first page of that Batman comic is a small retcon where at the end of the Tower of Babel storyline Superman confronts Batman and says “You had plans for stopping each one of us, what’s the plan for stopping you?” Batman then says the plan is the Justice League. Which Superman immediately calls bullshit on and wants to know what’s the real plan for stopping Batman. The answer is Failsafe. I’m really liking this story. It’s nice to read a Batman comic that doesn’t feel like a 6 issue event where Gotham burns and the Bat family has to all join forces. It’s simple so far but I enjoy the simplicity, and the characters are well written. The only thing I don’t like is Failsafe is seemingly designed to go in to action if Batman ever goes too far. In this case Batman was framed for murder in #1. But Batman has been framed for murder many times. Only last year in Detective Comics Batman/Bruce Wayne was wanted for murder of a gangster’s daughter. I’ve never read it but there’s also a pretty famous Batman story called Bruce Wayne: Fugitive which is where Bruce is framed for murder. So have to ignore that part because it’s comics and they’ve been telling these stories for decades. Sometimes things just repeat. Maybe later they’ll explain an actual reason why Failsafe came online. Either way. I really like this so I can get over it

    Evil West

I say day 1, but it depends on reviews and stuff I guess. If it tanks in that regard I might not get it but based on the gameplay looks really fun

    Disney & Marvel Showcase

That was actually a really decent showcase. Only 20 minutes. Quick paced. Mostly good games and even games I would never play, I respect the effort. Apart from the Captain America/Black Panther game I don't think they're making anything super exciting, but generally a higher quality level to these games than I would expect from Disney Also Mike Bithell making a fucking Tron game is mad. Such a small developer getting such a big shot. Good going.
  16. Too tired to take a picture but got mine today too. Let me know if you need someone to watch your six 🫡

    Evil West

I’ve been looking forward to this game for a while. Probably a day 1 game for me
  18. This is fun. So Batman is losing a fight to a robot called Failsafe, which is a robot Batman designed to beat himself in case he had to be stopped. Why the name Failsafe. However if Batman designed it he would know how to beat it, so he let his other personality, the Batman of Zur-en-Aar make it. So Batman tries to let his other personality out to shut it down, but… 😆 I love that. He let his other personality build the machine. But his other personality knew Batman could default to him to stop it, so his other personality got rid of the memory of how to beat it. Batman is a prick, even to himself. I really like that. It fits the story, it fits the character, and it’s really funny. But then it ends with something cool and something you basically never see in Batman comics It might also not be as over as you think because earlier they scan Failsafe and find he has “some” Amazo technology in him. So I think it might fuck up Superman as well. Either way, can’t wait for #4. This is a fun story. Simple stakes but good takes on the characters.
  19. They’re doing a new style for the covers of Detective Comics and I think they look really cool
  20. A video game presentation tomorrow to kick off D23 weekend Nine pm on the ninth of the ninth. Easy enough to remember. Probably mostly phone games but maybe some Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine?

    Nintendo News

The other rumour I read this week is they’re supposed to be porting Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to Switch. That’s all well and good, but what about Mario Galaxy 2 you fucking pieces of shit 😡
  22. I’m not sure Xbox would keep CoD on PS, though. Unless my logic is wrong. But making a guess Xbox currently only has 20% of the CoD audience. They then remove it from PS, and Xbox jumps up to only 40% (Assuming PC would become the most dominant CoD platform in that case), well Xbox are still up 20% audience. Also it’s all about Gamepass for them. The world’s biggest annual franchise makes a lot of sense for subscription purposes. Especially because a lot of people would get the PC version on Gamepass also. I think for Xbox it works really well. Not for fans and it could really harm the game. A multiplayer focused game where they’re abandoning a lot of players. That’s the big risk, I think.
  23. 20 million copies on one system alone. Think about that. Most games would kill to sell 20 million total
