This is very much one of those games, and I enjoyed my time with it. Looking forward to the next chapter.

  4. The game is coming to Xbox and Switch on 4th September. It's coming to PS4 as well, but no date for that version yet.

You play as a trio of fighters on a mission to save the president from ninjas/critique the gig economy. It's fairly short and enjoyable, although it did feel a bit repetitive in the middle. I had no idea this was an episodic thing, you don't actually get to save the president in this chapter. The end says there'll be a second episode but I've no idea when or how many there will be, the store page makes no mention of it.
  6. Treachery In Beatdown City. The characters are talking about a gig economy style app there, but it gave me a little chuckle.
  7. Probably doesn't matter if they sell any, now they've got that Epic cash.
  8. Very Knives Out. Looks like a great idea for a level. Also, the game is now exclusive on PC to the Epic Game Store for the 1st year. Apparently all unlocks/progress from Hitman 2 on Steam will carry over to 3. They don't say how, but it will probably involve creating an account and giving IOI all your personal information. After how quickly Hitman 2 fell in price, I'm inclined to wait at least a year - until it's out on multiple stores and all the DLC is out, then buying it wherever's cheapest.
  9. I played it in mid 2019, I really enjoyed playing around with the 90s style desktop and trawling through all the sites. It's got some excellent writing. I think a bunch of stuff has been added since I played. I did get a bit stuck a couple of times, I guess I wasn't searching the right things, or I wasn't following the correct leads. Other than that I had a great time with it.

    The Touryst

I finished it this weekend. It's an enjoyable fairly straightforward little game. I didn't bother to 100% it, I think I ended it with the diamond mines, the arcade high scores and the scroll collection incomplete. I think you only got achievements and coins from doing those anyway. Money in particular was pretty pointless after a while.
  12. But we all know: unless self-published or independent, most of the extra money would be kept by the middle-men. The publishers.

You're a nanotechnology enhanced agent in a post-collapse society, sent to solve a murder in a remote industrial outpost/town. The way you talk to people etc. feeds into your personality type which controls what abilities you gain during the game, which in turn dictate how you have to approach and solve some of the puzzles in the game. It's not mind blowing or anything, but competently made and well written, and enjoyable to play.

  15. I felt this was a shitty bit of spin from the devs yesterday https://www.pcgamer.com/getting-a-bunch-of-negative-user-reviews-is-not-automatically-a-review-bomb/ I liked this from the trailer in the PlayStation video the other month, it looks really fun. But since I don't have the option to get it on PS+, I'll probably hold off to see how it pans out on PC in a few months, and how opinion settles on the amount of content in game vs DLC/micro-transaction store.
  16. This is out on Steam for £16 with another £12 worth of DLC already. It doesn't have crossplay with PS4, it's apparently something they're looking into. I think this will probably need it at some point to maintain a stable player base on PC, as it doesn't have the advantage of being 'free' like the PlayStation version did.

    Carrion

I definitely felt like I could have done with a map at the beginning, but then after a while I felt it was leading me naturally to the next area. Then at the end I needed to go to a specific place, and could have done with a map because I couldn't remember where it was (it was only a couple of screens away in the end). I liked it a lot, the creature's movement was creepy but fun, and the various powers were all entertaining. I enjoyed the puzzle solving a lot, there were a few 'encounters' where you had to clear a screen of drones/enemies before the doors to the next section would open, and those weren't so fun. Over all, a a really good experience and didn't outstay it's welcome.
  19. I'm definitely sick of the Indie Roguelike/lite. Mostly the sheer number of games out or announced as having 'roguelike elements'. It's the indie equivalent of the Zombie fps overload.
  20. I have a lot of time to try and amuse myself while waiting around in the hub for my wife to ready up...
  21. Huh. I was sure I talked about this online somewhere. The carving part at the beginning of that game was definitely the least interesting part, I enjoyed it a lot after that. I could never remember what drinks did what in the mixing sections, I always had to keep looking that stuff up. It's good, but I think I liked 2046: Read Only Memories and VA-11 HALL-A more.
  22. Started playing some Monster Hunter World with my wife this weekend, it's a good looking game.

    Random News II

? Team Reptile are the developer of the Lethal League games. Huge Jet Set Radio vibes there, the steam page even mentions music from Hideki Naganuma. The release date is listed as 'future'.
