Fuck YEEEESSSSSSAAASSSSSSAAAEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!

Holy fuck yes! Shame it’s not on Xbox though, that’s actually my favourite d pad. Can pull off moves a lot more reliably on when I switched to the Xbox version of SF6. But whatever, yes!!

PS4 is the one to go for I think, if you've got a decent fighting pad at least. PC too, but I feel like online on PC might get a bit of a nightmare

I own all these bar the first X-Men (I used to own that) and Punisher, but I'm still tempted. It'd be nice if they learnt their lesson from the PS3 and 360 release of Marvel vs Capcom 2 and didn't have everyone unlocked, so there was a reason to keep playing, at least keep them locked in single player

Yea, I want them to keep the locked in SP too. A lot of the fun from the original release was unlocking them all.

Apparently this is the reason it's skipping Xbox...

UPDATE (June 18, 2024): We saw a suggestion from Jawmuncher on Twitter (X) that Capcom's MT Framework engine is to blame for the recent spate of Xbox omissions. Our sources indicate that this is correct. Right now, Capcom has no pipeline for porting older MT Framework titles to Xbox's modern ERA system, which makes it more expensive to deliver the same titles than it would porting them to PlayStation 4, Switch, or PC. Perhaps Microsoft could step in to lend a hand here? We can only hope.

Makes sense, wold also explain why Monster Hunter Stories isn't on there. Though without crossplay I don't think an Xbox release is particularly interesting anyway. Except for a couple of casual fans who want to beat up the CPU, but that's probably a minuscule market.

Do DMC4 and Dead Rising work via backwards compat on Series X I wonder, cause they also use MT Framework

Apparently not... according to Google.

Even if they would I don't think it would contradict the statement. As far as I know the whole back compat thing is emulation done in-house at Microsoft, plus the quote only says that Capcom doesn't have a pipeline for porting MT over, not that it's impossible to pull off.

Everyone talking about Max’s reaction to the announcement but no one talking about Justin.

He’s baby daughter’s “I know this” is adorable. Yeah, I expect you do

It's too bad it doesn't have cross-play and I wonder why that is. You'd have to assume there's parity between releases for such an old game, so it can't be that.

Not that I would ever go online and try to play MvC2 against other people, but that would have made this release basically perfect.

This is up for pre-order on Play Asia. Does anyone know if this is getting a physical release in EU? I can’t find anything, but apparently the last Capcom fighting collection was digital only in EU

Also here’s Max and Justin Wong playing it for an hour

Capcom's EU releases have been sketchy lately, so it's entirely possible we won't get it physically. Haven't heard or seen anything yet either.

I'd recommend importing it then though, looking at the history of this game and how back-and-forth Capcom's relationship with Marvel seems to be.
