AndyKurosaki Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 I won’t be going back for the DLC. Getting to the end of the main story was enough of a chore. 16 isn’t the worst game I’ve played in the series (that’d be 13), but it’s far from the best either. Boring is how I’d describe the majority of it.
one-armed dwarf Posted March 23, 2024 Author Posted March 23, 2024 I think both of these DLC look really good, the boss fight I saw in the first DLC looked really good. But I'm anxious of about 12 more sequels to Blacksmith's blues But I'm holding out for the PC release now. I wish they just kinda bit the bullet though and made this a straightforward DMC action game, cause it's already decent at that part anyway. The RPG side didn't seem needed (and Rebirth trounces that side, even if combat isn't as high execution)
Maf Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 Sounds like the PC version isn’t a million miles away I dunno why but this announcement has got me really wanting to play this game. Even though I only got a tiny ways in I really did enjoy it. Maybe wait for April because along with DLC is coming balance changes as well. My only thing is I’ve played so many JRPG’s/anime games lately I need a bit of a break from it. So again waiting for April is probably the move But I dunno I’m really excited to get back in to this game again
DANGERMAN Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 I don't know how much they're charging, but that's how you do a late port. Here's all the content, we're not holding it back once it's done, and we'll even put out a demo so you can see we've put the effort in
one-armed dwarf Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 Time to do all of the blacksmith blue's quests again.. in 4K 120!! (I am not doing the sidequests again) Apparently there's a demo out now and everything, presumably the same prologue demo as PS5
Maryokutai Posted June 12 Posted June 12 They talk a bit about the Xbox version of FFXVI here, specifically Series X. The summary is that the resolution is lower than on PS5, in certain modes even significantly so (Performance mode goes from 1080p on PS5 to 720p on Xbox). On the plus side, or rather as a byproduct, the framerate is more stable, so Quality mode is basically a locked 30fps and performance a locked 60fps. IIRC the latter was a rollercoaster on PS5, so that's good I suppose, but no idea how a 4K TV deals with a 720p image. Seems like they half-arsed the port a bit though, but at the same I can't really fault them because without a Gamepass deal there's really not much money to be made on Xbox anymore unless you're COD or FIFA. I'm just happy it finally is on the platform, though I'm not sure yet when I'm going to give it a try.

mfnick Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I think that’s what he’s saying. Why try harder without one to help fund it. I can confirm 720p looks terrible on OLED 4k. This and FFVII Rebirth look like blurry shit in performance mode.

one-armed dwarf Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 It's not so much that 720p looks bad on 4k, iirc it actually scales fine. Its more that these Final Fantasy games have way too much detail and effects in them for 720 to work well on any screen
mfnick Posted June 12 Posted June 12 You’re probably right. Even SD tv stuff look alright. But those FF games, horrible.
