spatular Posted October 14, 2011 Share Posted October 14, 2011 it's forza! you have to pick a slow car and race, leveling up and getting free/bonus cars seems to happen pretty fast. got a load of free cars for my forza 3 save which was cool but i haven't unlocked races to use most of them yet. the small/slow car is more fun to drive than i'd expect, wheelspin from the off and stuff, seems a bit odd but it's fun so it's all good. the vynal import is pretty cool, i'd assumed you'd only be able to import stuff you'd made but it imported all the logos i bought too, which was a lot. rivals mode is cool, i picked a hot lap rival to beat, struggled as not using many aids to make the slow cars more interesting but it was nearly impossible to accelerate in anything below 4th gear in this aston db9? racing car, but the rival was struggling too, eventually beat it and got loads of credits - went up 2 driver levels! there's so many cool cars in the game i can do without the dlc stuff i think. graphics look ace but some of the track seem to be forza 3 ones so don't look quite as good as new ones. there's some odd events like bowling and a race while overtaking other cars, i wanted other events to make single player more interesting but not sure i liked thoes. the AI can be annoying, it doesn't react to you that well and parks on the apex making it hard to overtake. apparently its some sort of dynamic difficulty level in career (you can't change the difficulty at all i think?) and it's sort of working i guess as they're getting faster and giving me a race but i'm not sure i like that, i usually put tham on easy and enjoy trying to beat my lap times rather than racing the AI. anyway yeah it's good. i can see rivals mode being my main mode. timetrialling ftw. so what do you think? I bought this today (LCE), have literally just installed the game and inputted the many codes that came with it. I got a Mini John Cooper Works Clubman for buying from Gamestation, too. I've also paid up front for the first six car packs, 2400MSP for the Season Pass. retroed Posted October 15, 2011 Share Posted October 15, 2011 I've played through the first two seasons, and have enjoyed myself immensely. The cars feel great. I won a mk2 Golf GTi 16v, and it drives just like the real thing. Setup wise I'm using the simulation steering, manual gears and ABS and braking line as my assists. spatular Posted October 17, 2011 Author Share Posted October 17, 2011 i'm really enjoying this still, was sceptical with how boring the career in f3 was but this seems a lot better so far. i'm going for pretty much all aids off which i don't usually do and it's made it quite different to play, having to hold off accelerating and stuff, it's really easy to get into a slide but also really easy to correct a slide (with a wheel anyway, not tried it with the pad yet). i thought the rivals thing was going to be amazing but it looks like you can use setups in some sections which brings it down to just great. also great how you get points towards your driver level for pretty much everything you do Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And this is the car it is based on. This colour and paint scheme is my own creation, including all the racing stickers and Union Flag, with the exception of the Michelin sticker, which is game standard. All the stickers created for this car can be found on my Forza 4 Storefront. The car is based on the Aston Martin Vanquish, and Aston Martin DBR9's used in the 2008 GT1 racing season, and sponsored by Gulf Oil. This design is on the storefront for 15000 forza credits, but any MFGamer member that wants it can have it gifted by myself for free. I'm not really enough of a car fan to be aware of decent real life racing liveries to apply to the cars in game, so I generally take my own ideas and try to make them look like actual racing cars, rather than just a cool picture on a car. Thankfully I was able to import into 4 and get it tidied up. I wish the import feature existed between 2 and 3, there are a few logos I would hav liked to save from there too. The car design is goign on sale, but I'll gift it to anyone that wants it from MFG. This one was a simply design at first. The actual bodywork is quite easy, being British Racing Green, with lime coloured inserts. The logos were a bit of a 'mare at times, though. And it's not a complete copy of the original car, with a cople of ideas taken from older/newer Drayson cars. Mainly because I had trouble getting good hi res pics in the internet. I was quite amazed that his little Fiat 500 was beating my Escort Rs1800 by about a second on a hot lap. I was wasting time by over-steering on the corners though. A good race though.
