  1. I wouldn’t say it’s boring but I agree with this. I always thought they were going to buy Sega. That was a heavy rumour for a long time

    New Iron Man game

    The real Anthem starts now
  3. What if RTX makes the Portal robot too real and it cakes us all
  4. I was just reading about this over at Eurogamer. They sound amazing. 4 x better than the current 30 cards or something? Holy shit. I would love to get one but I think it’s not going to be for a very long time by the sounds of it. Maybe in 2025 when they announce the 50 series 🙁
  5. SF and Tekken will smash Strive regardless and shrink it’s player base. They’re the biggest names in the FGC. Which sort of makes a Gamepass version (both on Xbox and PC) a really good opportunity for the game to keep going by lowering the barrier to entry. Of course even they those new players will play it for a month and then bounce but some will stay. Strive is going to get smaller but it isn’t going anywhere. If they make a new version then that will just keep it going even more I love this game (when it doesn’t make me want to die) so I be getting a bit defensive about it, but this game is here for a while and even if the player base shrinks I don’t think longevity is an issue.
  6. Strive just had more entrants at Evo than any other game. That’s why it’s grand finals was last (I think). The game sold over a 1,000,000 copies. They’re going out of their way to make an Xbox version. The PC version is really popping. Crossplay coming soon. 🤷‍♂️ Yeah this game looking terminal, pull the plug The problem I think will be for new players jumping in now. It’s a rough game at this point. But it worked for DBFZ and as long as a lot of new players all join at the same time it should be smooth enough onboarding for people.
  7. There is so much content in this game. I’ve played it for a solid 2 and a half days over the bank holiday weekend from chapter 4-6 and still not finished. A lot of it is my fault because I can’t stop searching for stuff. I’ve found 10/20 dream catchers and 6/30 dinosaur bones. Somehow the one there’s more of is harder to find. Also I found that graves are considered collectibles? I’ve found a few weird graves all over the place, but I think maybe I didn’t interact with them or something because there’s no in game information about them. I only saw hint of it online. Even at the end of the game it keeps popping up more and more stranger quests. I think I’ve started 3/4 new quests at the end game and getting more missions for others! Found lots of really detailed but random events too. Like I passed a house where this couple invited me in for dinner. Turns out they’re an incestuous brother and sister that keep the skeleton of their mum in a cupboard upstairs. They drugged me and stole a thousand dollars so I went back to their house and killed them both and found they stashed the cash behind a painting. Like it’s not a quest but there’s cutscenes and a set piece and everything. There’s been a few things like that. I’ve also been trying to complete all the challenges as well. The most bullshit one is Herbalist 9 where I have to pick every herb in the game. Including herbs I’ve picked up 100’s of times. Would be nice if some of these challenges worked retroactively. One thing I think really stinks in this game is the fishing. Especially for legendary fish which catching them is probably the hardest thing to do in the game. It’s the ultimate tug of war and absolute insanely hard. The more you catch the harder they get as well. The catching mechanic is basically a Mario Party style mini game where you have to spin the stick. But it’s so difficult. I then remembered there’s a accessibility options in the menus so I had a look and sure enough instead of spinning the stick you can swap it for hold the X button and IT’S SO MUCH BETTER OH MY GOD. This shit was way too hard and now it’s easier and I don’t have to tear my thumb to pieces. This game is also the absolute best case example for Xbox Quick resume. Even on the new consoles the initial load is probably close to a minute. I can go from console off to in the game in less than 10 seconds with this feature. Also the plot twist with what happens to Arthur in the end of the game. Oh shit. What an amazing thing to put your main character through, and how amazingly does it explain he’s actions in the last part of the game. If you want to be good or bad, it fits with what’s happened to him, it would make sense however you wanted to play it. This for me is hands down the best game R* has ever made. Obviously never be as influential as GTA3 or big as GTA5, but an incredible capture of setting and sense of place. Sometimes people talk about entertainment being something that transports you to another place and this is that for me. Throwing the word immersion out there doesn’t do it justice. It’s a wholly captured experience that I can just sink in to. I’ve never even had any interest in cowboys or the Wild West. I didn’t even think RDR1 was that good. I liked it, played it twice through to give it a chance, but I only ever thought it was all right. This is for me a world breaking game. I can’t even find the thing I want to say about it. The thing they’ve captured here is magic.

    Deathloop

Think it has an extended ending as well I bought this full price a year ago and still in the wrapper 🙁 It can stay there now and I’ll play the PC version on Gamepass
  9. So the God Butcher is basically my favourite Thor story so I thought I’d highlight a few things where the movie and comic are similar, or where the movie has a different spin on it All spoilers obviously This not spoilers for the movie. But a cool thing I saw in this story for the first time is a key power that separates gods from god like beings in the Marvel universe is that Gods can hear prayers. They never state it fully but I interpret that to be a power inherent to beings that have godhood or god dna. As opposed to the Phoenix, Thanos or Galactus who - stronger than gods. But not actually gods
  10. I’ve never seen a ToD before. I thought the game scaled too hard.
  11. I didn’t even know this was still a thing.
  12. I didn't know ToD's were possible in this game? Fair enough it takes a big counter hit, 100 tension, wall break, and on Chipp. But still. First one I've seen
  13. Is there any understanding of how old this build is? The bits I saw on Twitter earlier make it seem like they’re still making physics for the game and things like that. It just makes me wonder is GTA6 still that far away?
  14. I got Stray, Splatoon 3 and Cult of the Lamb

    Tekken 8

I think everything about this game looks amazing and was the best game shown all over the Tuesday directs but the thing that’s really stuck with me is the song. It’s so fucking cool. It sounds really new but also like it reminds me of something from a long time show but I dunno what. It’s been the best part of a week and the chorus is still stuck in my head. Everything about the trailer is awesome and it’s the first time I’ve ever been excited about Tekken, but the song is doing a lot of that work. I hope the whole game has this kind of style
  16. Why is it I play a game for hours and hours and the more I play it the more confident I feel in my opinion of it, I then come on here and post something, return to the game and then completely flip I really enjoyed the beginning of chapter 5 and I instantly started liking all the characters again. This game is dynamite all the way through I take it back. I think I was just getting tired because I played it for like 11 hours or something. Also I was having a really hard time finding collectibles in this game. Before and now playing it again. I looked it up online to to see if other people were finding it too hard because I was thinking am I really this bad at it. Turns out there’s a mechanic called Eagle Eye which highlights things in the environment *shakes head* I did really well to find the things I did then because I had no idea this was in the game.
  17. I played this pretty much all day and reached chapter 5 It’s a really weird turn and has made me lose interest immediately and turn it off for the day. I already thought the story missions were the weakest part of the game. The main characters are really repetitive, the few good characters in the story are barely in it, a lot of the main missions feel like side missions and the actual big ones are just big shootouts. I know people are pretty down on this game and if the way people played it was to hammer through the story missions I sort of get the negativity. It’s repetitive action with underwritten characters and now this late game change. I really don’t like it when games do this. When I get used to a setting, I don’t like leaving it. I don’t think it’s horrible but the deeper I got in to the story today the more I started to lose interest. And this big event thing that’s happened really killed it today. However the thing I’m rediscovering in this game again is the world and the sense of place. It’s still one of the most unique and accomplished game worlds I’ve ever played in/experienced. Completing challenges, doing the hunting, roaming around exploring the different corners of the world. The attention to detail in this game is incredible. Rolling in to a town at the dead of night, the warm lights in the street, the drunks lying in mud and bottles. Walking through the saloon doors and the atmosphere of the bar is so alive. Walking up to the top floor to get a bath and as going up the stairs a fight breaks out and one guy is bashing another guy’s head off the bar. There’s levels of quality and world/genre realisation in this game which is just incredible. I can’t wait to be done with what I assume will be all of chapter 5 and get back to the good bit of the game again.
  18. And there it is PSVR1 games not compatible with PSVR2. https://www.eurogamer.net/sony-says-original-psvr-games-wont-be-compatible-with-psvr2 I’ve got quite a few PSVR games that I never played and thought I’d wait in case they could be played on the next headset. But I also left my PSVR out and didn’t pack it away just in case. At least I’ll get a bit more money’s worth out of the PSVR1 I guess. I only played 2 games on it
  19. This Millia player is amazing. Who knew you can corner carry from a mid screen h disc. There’s also a corner combo he does which is so insane I can’t tell if it’s real of he just spamming buttons. There’s a neat thing he tries to do which didn’t work here but I see it. That’s to do 6H and turbofall cancel out of it. Which was one of my favourite things to do about 8 months ago but then players recognise it or learn to react to it and it’s not very good. But he turbofall cancels in to kapel before hitting the ground. That’s probably good because if they jump or even jab you catch them. It didn’t work here but good idea. Then there’s just a lot of general high level stuff he’s doing. After all this time so much stuff I don’t know
  20. I watched Thor Love & Thunder and damn this movie is great. One of the things I was hearing about this movie is they didn't get the balance between action and comedy right. But I actually think this is a far better balanced movie than Ragnarok. Which is a film I really liked, but Ragnarok is a straight comedy and the actual story and things that happen in that movie have no weight at all. For me it's a film that's enjoyed purely as a comedy and not much else. Love & Thunder I think is no way near as funny. That is probably it's only real failing is the jokes aren't great. But the overall better balance gives way for more story, better characters, I actually cared what was happening to the heroes in the film. Particularly Jane. Their version of Gorr, well. Maybe more on him in a bit. I'll say overall I'm happy with this version of him, I think Christian Bale played him in a really unexpected way and I enjoyed his creepy personality and overacting. But he is no way near as threatening as the comic book version. Comic book version eats this guy for breakfast, but given the film their making, I still enjoyed this Gorr overall. Not much more to say without getting in to spoilers but I though this movie was also really creative. The Shadow Realm thing they do was super cool. I also think they weave story beats together really nicely. Like when Jane first gets the hammer it's like well that was convenient. Then they actually explain it later in less than a minute but it was perfectly good answer and I accept it completely. The same goes for the relationships with the story around the hammers. Obviously part of Thor's character is he's hammer and the way it's been passed around and thrown away in other Marvel films I never really liked. I know people love the Cap scene in Endgame, but frankly, it is a hype moment but it's not good story. Cap's weapon is the shield. Anyway. In this they deal with the hammers and all these things in a really funny and silly way, but it completely worked for me and the way this film ends it's like ahh. All is right again. One other thing I think is a huge positive for this film is the design and visuals. Funny that Multiverse of Madness was supposed to be this really crazy film that goes to all these places and has all these looks. Love and Thunder kicks the crap out of it in that sense. It's not like a top 5 Marvel movie, but considering the kind of drought Marvel has gone through recently like we talked about this week. This was a really strong movie and felt more in line with prime Marvel, if that's a thing I can call it, I dunno. Also Mighty Thor indeed. Bring her back. The action in this movie is excellent (especially the 3 vs 1 fight near the end) and Jane is usually the star of the action scenes
  21. So am I right in thinking that in 2023 Strive is coming to Xbox and getting cross play, DBFZ is getting rollback, and Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 are coming out Is it going to be year of the fighting game?
  22. I’m a bit behind on X-Men but right now Mister Sinister is essentially the most powerful Marvel character because he’s cloned a bunch of Moira’s before she was depowered. He’s been resetting reality over and over again, trying different shit, manipulating all kinds of events to make the universe go crazy until he resets it. I think the last bit I saw was like a Dr Doom/Galactus/Phoenix hybrid character who worked for the Shiar who was hunting him down and ate him. But he had linked his life to a Moira clone so reality just resets and he does something else. He is what Kang is to the current MCU in sense. He controls all and no one knows it (although I think Destiny is catching on)
  23. This is straight up one of the best games I’ve ever played
  24. I admit Nintendo is not the best example but it’s them or Sega and err…
  25. The only thing I don’t really like out of the whole situation is Xbox using the Microsoft bank account cheat code. It would be better if they were creating and inventing new games and series that would rock PlayStation “naturally” But is what it is. PlayStation seem unmovable from the top spot so this makes sense. @Maryokutai Nintendo have done a lot more than that just not with hardware. In a sense they’ve retreated home a bit. But they’ve concentrated on 1st party games, anime games, Japanese games and stronger Japanese partnerships. The return is the most unique and successful console and library they’ve ever had. They’ve also embraced Mario with guns, Zelda like Skyrim and a multiplayer shooter in Splatoon which was just their biggest Switch launch ever or something. So it’s not like they’ve just done the same things they were doing since the 90’s.
