  1. Always been shit at remembering game music but one that immediately came to mind is Katana Zero. The soundtrack to that bangs. Both the new DOOM games have great soundtracks that fit perfectly.
  2. Get them a Xbox with Game Pass instead. Seeing Xboxes in and out of stock constantly during last month. Must be helping them, bet there’s a lot of people who “settle” for a Xbox because they can’t get a PS5. Yea they’ll be struggling to make them as well of course but with how much more frequently stock drops of the Xbox happens I bet it’s a lot easier to get one. Man, Game Pass would have been a dream for me as a kid who could only have a handful of games a year with most of those at Christmas. Although I bet most just play Fortnite today, shame.
  3. Just a FYI for JRPG fans. A new book which looks brilliant is now available from Bitmap. Been looking forward to this one for a long time! Just ordered my copy. https://www.bitmapbooks.co.uk/products/a-guide-to-japanese-role-playing-games
  4. Probably why I didn’t enjoy episode 3 as much as the first 2 then. Found it dull until the end when it picked up slightly.
  5. I basically said the same in the Microsoft thread leading up to E3. It used to be the leader now it’s playing catch up. And there’s a lot more big MP shooter competition out there now - Fortnite, PUBG, Apex, mainstays like CoD and BF. I reckon the big mainstream market has moved on to this kind of thing and I honestly think Halos going to struggle to get anywhere near that kind of market again. Hope they succeed though, fed up of BR games so a standard shooter succeeding will be nice. & the recent article on EG highlighting how they’re doing battle passes sounds so much better than how others do it. They deserve to succeed from this much more consumer friendly business practice alone.
  6. Haha no worries. Interesting to read. @OCHIve recently bought GoT but not played it yet. However I’ve definitely been getting very strong Tenchu vibes from this. You can play it really stealthily and the grappling to building roofs is exactly as my memory of Tenchu makes it out to be. The environments are pretty similar obviously due to location and timelines too. This has wide open areas with multiple paths but is still linear like Tenchu so you can better learn and use the environment whereas GoT is open world so think this has got that going for it as well. Speaking of the grapple, I just have to say how great it feels dashing between grapple points. As does jumping down, slicing into someone’s throat & then grappling out before anyone’s the wiser to set up my next target. Looks great too.
  7. Ive got 1000’s of deaths in games like Meat Boy, Katana Zero and the like. That’s never been a issue. I think 5-10 hours is more than enough time to commit to a game before fucking it off. I found some shortcuts and they weren’t much better. Regardless, I just didn’t like Demons, Dark and Bloodborne. I just don’t think they’re actually that good. This though, I’m really enjoying.
  8. Yea it was brilliant. Why wouldn’t I? Always said it wasn’t the difficulty I had a issue with in these games. It was the lack of respect for my time making me repeat the same 5-10 minute boring bullshit run up to the boss everytime. Just not enjoyable at all to me. Plus this just plays and feels better than all the others IMO. Just defeated that bitch Lady Butterfly so ignore some of my last post?.
  9. You’ll have learned boss patterns I guess by now then? That’s a lot of the battle, executing reliably against them though is a different matter. Made a bit more progress last night, but a scary glitch though in the dungeon area where the world just wouldn’t load in. Luckily sorted it by quiting the game at the dashboard and resetting the console. Did worry me when I kept reloading saves and it wouldn’t fix it. Anyway got passed the dungeon and the immediate area after then met some small hat enemies which I fucking hate so decided to have a change of pace so retried that section set in the past. Long story short, I made that white robe guy my bitch. Destroyed him first go, felt right satisfying after how hard I found him when I first started. Also found a new Prosthetic part I’d missed last time which sounds really useful from the description since the shield guys - including the rat cunts - have caused me some of the biggest headaches so far. Reached the Lady Butterfly fight. Christ, she’s tough. Ridiculously fast, managed to knock her into 2nd phase a couple of times but when she summons I’m basically fucked. All my hard work goes out of the window as her posture meter recovers so fast while I’m dodging the other gits. Had to take a break. Quick question regarding consumable items. How do they work? I’ve used thosehealing pellet things and sometimes it registers I’ve used them but other times I’ve had my full stock again. What’s with that? Is it to do with when you die or a weird glitch? Just scared of using my Seeds, running out and her being near impossible.
  10. The excellent Sonic Mania and ok Horizon Chase Turbo are free on Epic at minute.
  11. Looking like the N64 one is still the best.
  12. I’m like this. Ive had it with every fighting game, I just seem to hit a pretty low ceiling where I can’t really get any better too no matter how much I play. Similar to Rocket League, say I’ve put 100 hours into that, but from about 50 hours ive not improved one bit. I’m probably still at the same level competitively as I was at hour 50. Same with fighting games, I just don’t seem to get any better after a point. Within limits of course. Obviously I probably would get better with infinite time but I’d have to give up basically all other games to just improve slightly and I’d still be shit compared to others people. The amount of effort it takes me just to learn one combo is exhausting too, so doing anything passed that is too much. I’m ok being a casual fan. Still looking forward to picking this up in future.
  13. Wooo!!! Think I found the boss you were talking about @one-armed dwarf. Just beat him! That was a fantastic fight! Loved it. Could have cried when But I had his original stage just about down by then anyway so didn’t take too much extra effort.
  14. Haha shit! Don’t like sound of that.
  15. I believe so? I fought a blue samurai bloke there who had a mega fast double slash. Couldn’t proceed any further after him though I didn’t think. Am I missing something? A checkpoint just before him said castle top floor. Youre crazy.
  16. Finally beat that horse cunt! Had 3 relatively easy bosses and named enemies after that which was a nice breather. Reached top floor of the castle and beat him. Not really sure where I need to be heading next though. There’s a tough fucker at the entrance to that starting area I’ve returned to so I guess I’ll see what happens when I beat him.
  17. Only just picked it up as it’s one of those games that’s held it’s value & I didn’t want to pay so much for how old it is. Waiting worked out and found a copy for £20 so here we are. Good to have a break inbetween trying these games as well.
  18. Quiet Place Was really impressed with that. They managed to pull of the difficult truck of showing the monster and it actually being a great design. Some inconsistencies with how well they could hear and how far away from and which noises they choose to ignore but I was happy enough to let that go as I enjoyed the film so much. Torque Don’t know why I chose to watch this but God damn that is one of the most stupid films I’ve ever seen. Good fun though. Special mention to that end 200mph+ chase scene too. Never seen something so shit looking in my life ? worth watching for a laugh.
  19. Shit me this game feels fucking great. The deflect and deathblow combo is one of the best feeling and sensory satisfying things I’ve experienced in a game. I love how snappy this feels in comparison to other Souls games too. It really is a different beast. I really like the posture system as well. It’s so much more visually interesting IMO compared to the other ones too. Demons Souls remake is technically better but this just looks better in general to me. Recent got by a giant snake, that was pretty bloody cool. People weren’t joking about the difficulty though. Holy shit. The general enemies are great fun and easy to fight against but anything that has a name is a real motherfucker! However so far, the checkpoints have mostly been next to the big enemies or difficult encounters. Which was always my biggest complaint before. I’m fighting a guy on a horse at the moment and it takes less than a minute to get back to him when he undoubtedly kills me because he’s a cunt. Especially during his second phase. I say mostly because it has had a section set in the past where a guy in white with a spear is tough as fuck and he takes ages to get back to. That part seems optional though? The main path set in the games current day has been very good regarding checkpoints. Just hope it carries on like this. The difficulty may be just too much for me though. We’ll see. So far the though, this is by far the most I’ve liked a From Souls style game. Easily.

    Skyward Sword HD

Rip out the stamina system and the sequel might actually be good. Or at least remove it from the just running around & that’d be enough.
  21. I’ll give NFS a go definitely. I remember really liking it but it had problems. Bug Fables looks great. Forgot who recommended that to me but isn’t it like the classic Paper Mario’s or something. Look forward to that.
  22. @radiofloydYea this is the Voidheart edition. They added extra combat challenges and a couple of weird delivery missions and some extra enemies if I’m remembering right.
  23. Manage to nab a copy for £20. Only one I’ve not tried yet. Expect to see for sale again in a few days ?
