Couldn’t wait for the Xbox version. I had to know. Also picked up Horace for something stupid like £1.29 and Murder by Numbers cheap as well.

From what I understand the PS3 is still incredibly difficult to emulate thanks to the Cell chip. So making them playable on the actual system even with the PS5’s horsepower is far from easy. & probably not worth their effort unfortunately. Streaming is the easy but shitty fix.

Yea the perk stuff. Some of the upgrades are ace.

It’s a brilliant game. Far better story than you’d expect too. The gunplay is a huge amount of fun when you’ve upgraded a bit, feel really powerful. Highly recommend the 2nd when you’re done. One of my games of this gen.

Still ploughing on with this and still loving it. Although it’s made me repeat sections of 2 planets now which is a bit disappointing. It’s good at opening up shortcuts but none seem to quickly lead to the new areas I need to access to when retuning which is a bit shit. To answer my earlier question regarding SX performance. It’s much improved. Thankfully. It looks loads sharper and the frame rate is rock solid now, it runs much faster and feels more responsive. Some areas were really starting to struggle on the One X so this is great. Not died recently so can’t say anything regarding load tiles yet.

Gave this a quick go, done about 5 events so far. Seems really good, enjoying the track design and the environments are varied. The handling model is immediately enjoyable and good fun. Loads better than Grid and Dirt 4. Potentially not as loose as I’d like but a great starting point, hopefully gets even better as I unlock cars and from practice. Only disappointing thing so far is the graphical performance. Mainly the draw distance. It looks great but the much older and previous gen based Forza Horizon 4 and Motorsport 7 look better which is a shame for a ‘next gen’ game. But the more irritating thing is you can literally see the detail on the track drawing and popping in mere yards from your car. It’s really off putting and it’s all I seem to focus on now I’ve seen it. Bit of a shame.

Came yesterday afternoon, spent the day setting up and transferring data/games. Also got these for £15 after using my £50 work Xmas vouchers as I wanted something apart from Forza that was SX enhanced. Was planning on getting Cyberpunk but we know how that turned out.

Similar to the buyers remorse topic. All my answers from that but my main one would be the Wii. I was really excited about the Virtual Console. But I didn’t want the shitty PAL versions which Nintendo being good old backwards Nintendo, was the only option they gave us. Long delays on Nintendo stuff between NTSC and PAL was still a thing up to then too. So I decided to import a NTSC-U Wii. Big mistake. Basically I paid over the odds for what ended up being a terrible console and to add to the pain I barely used the VC because the games on it were so ridiculously overpriced. Fuck that console.

Yea, except for they no longer do the £1 deal if you’ve used it before. You’ll have to pay the full price for 1 month - something like £12 if I remember rightly. But it’ll convert the full 12 months. Usually get a extra month if you turn on auto renewal as well, then turn it back off once the extra month has been confirmed.

@HandsomeDeadIf you’re a existing Gold member you want to stack as much as possible then you just have to upgrade for the price of 1 month of ultimate and it should convert the entire sub. If you’re already a ultimate member. You have to wait for the sub to lapse then you can do the above again. That was how it worked for me a couple of months ago when I did it. if you’re not a member or any, stack loads of Gold then upgrade to ultimate for price of 1 month

There’s surely no need for it to be that expensive too. Really great, full fat indie games can be bought for less.

This. Ive not really brought in how successful they were as some do continue to be successful but quality is what I’m bothered about and that always nose dives which is my personal concern here as said originally. Im also not concerned about the initial year or 2 as usually these are when the very best games actually come out. Mass Effect 2, Titanfall 2, Burnout 3, Bad Company 2 etc. These were all after the EA acquisitions and are arguably the best instalments. It’s after that initial flash, they go to shit for some reason. It’s a transitional period where the talent still seems to be there, EA are giving them a bigger budget and not meddling too much. But after that transitional time period they go shit. Which is what I’m concerned about. Anyway, like I say I’ll come back to this thread in 4 years and see how things go.

They have gone shit though and I’ve provided reasons why. Respawn is the only outlier. EA have done nothing to deserve any kind of optimism regarding buying another company. I’ll set a reminder for in 4 years time and return to this thread and see what’s happened ?. Hope I’m wrong though. I love Codemasters ?

It’s decent but their selection isn’t as good and games aren’t on there for long. Most people I know who have tried it don’t keep their subscription going after the trial. Which is the complete opposite to Game Pass. They don’t have to put their 1st party games in their day and date but why not keep their old games like GT Sport and God of War on there? It would make it a lot more enticing. I’d probably have it if they did that. I saw both of those for £7 each this morning. So why not just shove them on there, advertise it a bit and get some subs instead? Nothing to stop them getting some indie games on there day 1 too like MS do. It all makes a difference. I do appreciate how much notice they give when games are leaving though.

They can say that but I don’t believe it for a second. Yea they’re still going but they aren’t even half as good and prolific as they used to be. Which is the point I’m making. I’m not necessarily saying t he’ll get shut down. I’m saying they’ll just be a Hollow, worthless name in future. Criterion is no longer a name which brings excitement. Hot Pursuit was decent but nowhere near the heights of Burnout 3 or Revenge. & they’ve basically been relegated to a side studio since HP. Sure they’ve recently been rolled out to try and lend some credibility to the ailing NFS franchise again. But they’re not the same company anymore & everyone is cautious. That was not the case years ago.

DICE haven’t been good since Bad Company 2. Popcap I forgot even existed. Peggle 2 is probably last I heard traditional gamers talk about them. Is Plants Vs Zombies Warfare them? They’re ok, I guess. I remember people saying PvZ 2 was pretty rubbish too. Nothing exactly exciting though is there? Not like they’re a company we’re all excitedly anticipating a new release from are they? Respawn seem to succeed in spite of EA. They sent Titanfall 2 out to die in middle of BF and COD. They didn’t promote Apex Legends until it was successful and Respawn even said EA had nothing to do with the development of that game. I bet it’s EA who set the ridiculously high price point of the MTX in that game too. Fallen Order - again EA had very little hope with that. One of the only games where I’ve heard a Publisher say it exceeded expectations. Mainly because they didn’t have any. Respawn seem to operate outside of EA’s influence somehow. Something I cant see happening with Codies. I really hope I’m wrong but in 3-4 years I bet the Codemasters name is there alongside Criterion in the EA dumpster.
