    Random News II

CDKeys are fine, they bulk buy physical copies then sell the codes. Used them many times, never had any issues with them neither have I ever seen them be accused of the same things as G2A.
  4. Leaked via an Instagram post for a Cockpit Manufacturer
  5. I went in with zero expectations, as mentioned in my previous post I thought this was one of the black sheep’s of the FF family so didn’t expect much at all but it has quietly impressed me throughout. I never imagined you’d love DQXI as much as you did ?‍♀️ but yeah, different strokes for different folks and all that ? The linearity hasn’t been as much of an issue as I thought it would be, sure I would of loved to have had a bit more freedom to explore every now and again but I’ve just loved the journey and all the places I’ve seen so far. For me it’s similarly paced to a Pokémon game, you go along a linear route, reach a town, do a puzzle or witness an event then move on, the whole ‘pilgrimage’ setup is very similar to the goal of becoming Pokémon Champion at the beginning of those games too. The bizarre script I can’t really see to be honest, the voice acting and writing is obviously of its time and there are weird moments but I just find them wacky funny weird rather than ‘oh this is so bad’ weird, but overall I wouldn’t call it bizarre personally, it still feels more or less on the money for me and I’ve not really rolled my eyes at it much. I’ve loved all the puzzle rooms, not sure what’s not to like, they’re so infrequent anyway that when they do pop up they’re a nice distraction. I absolutely love the combat and definitely wouldn’t call it slow, especially next to something like DQXI, it’s actually very fast paced in my view. I’ve not really done much side content yet so can’t comment on that. It’s not as good as my favourites in the genre - XC2 and Persona 4 Golden - so far but it has still managed to impress me at almost every turn. I like pretty much everything about it and there’s little I dislike.
  6. VaatiVidya is a good dude.

  8. I knew I had M3 on Steam but I’ve just looked and apparently I’ve got M2 as well which means I only need to buy 1, which is great.
  9. Yeah I definitely think so so far @Nag, I know it’s not a fair comparison considering I’ve barely played much of OG VII but yeah VII just feels a bit rushed, you’re thrown right in at the deep end with that and matched up with party members in a matter of minutes, whereas in this you have 20 hours spent getting used to the world, lore, party members and characters by the time shit hits the fan. I much prefer that slower build up with more exposition. To be honest @Jimbo Xiii before I started this I thought it was considered one of the ‘worst’ by most FF fans. All I ever saw of it when mentioned on YT etc. Over the years was the infamous laughing scene and how much of a cunt Tidus was. It’s only after I started playing it that I’ve realised it’s many people’s favourite of the series, there’s a lot of love for it out there which is nice to see.
  10. Put another 6 hours or so into this since my last post. Now up to about 31 hours played. It’s safe to say a lot has happened in those 6 hours! It’s safe to say the voice acting is ‘of its time’ but you could still really feel the anguish in Tidus’ voice when he learns what Yuna’s job as a Summoner entails and I have to say it was surprisingly emotional. The escape from Bikanel Island was great, it’s crazy how good the CGI cutscenes hold up. The part where you Afterwards all the action was over I liked having a quiet few minutes to just take my time and explore every inch of the ship, it was a such a nice, vibrant, colourful place to be with plenty of folks to talk to. Everything ramps up again after you reach the outskirts of Bevelle though with the Boss fight against Evrae. He gave me a little bit of trouble and - once again - I found myself scratching my head a bit and having to consult a guide after dying a few times, once I learnt to keep him away from me at all times then use smoke bombs or dark buster to stop his hits from connecting once he’s close to death towards the end he was easy enough to put down though. It’s all action and drama as you arrive into Bevelle, immediately being greeted with but everything works out in the end. Things calm down a bit again after this with a nice Cloister of Trials to do in Bevelle Temple. I like that they mix things up significantly this time around, the formula changes each time to get a little harder but this puzzle was definitely out of left field with the floating platforms taking you around and trippy psychedelic visuals. After this you finally get the sense that the band is finally getting back together as you start out in a dungeon with Yuna. Eventually going through a couple of dungeons meeting up with all your party members, then doing the same with a Tidus before everyone’s together again. There were a couple of boss battles here, one against a Zombie Evrae and another against a Summoner but they weren’t any trouble at all. You encounter again and he goes all super saiyan on you. After a brief few battles you’re into another boss battle against him. Luckily I had maxed 2 or 3 of my Aeons so their Overdrives were all ready to go (Bahamut is really handy isn’t he!), I ended up triggering each of these and dealing mass damage to him, so after this I just had to finish him off really. Now Yuna and her Aeons are back in the party I think things will be a bit easier again, it was definitely difficult at times re-learning the combat system without relying on her as she’s the most powerful party member of the bunch by far so it’s so damn good to have her back. Once again I was put back into a nice calm moment after this in the Macalania Woods. There’s a romantic scene between that was a little bit unexpected but sweet all the same, I was expecting to find it a bit corny but that scene was just beautiful in that tranquil pool surrounded by all the twinkling lights in amongst the forest. Just such a beautiful moment in amongst many in such a beautiful game. I made it to the next area - the Calm Lands - and left it there for the day. The more I play of this the more it goes up in my estimations, it’s just such a special, magical game and I really hope that continues all the way to the finish line. One of the best things about it is just how incredibly well paced it is, if you’ve had a lot of story thrown at you you’ll then spend the next 30-60 minutes fighting or doing a puzzle or something, it seems to balance the action and high drama moments with moments of tranquility and reflection perfectly too. It never feels like you’re in one place for too long or doing any one activity for too long. All the parts of the whole are all excellent as well which means none of them feel like a chore or a weak link in the chain.
  11. Sunderland Til I Die, yeah that’s great too. I watched a couple of eps of the Leeds one on Prime which was decent too.
  12. Yeah The Last Dance is indeed fantastic. I went through a phase of watching a load of Basketball during my 2nd year of Uni (supported the Clippers and Raptors) but haven’t really touched it since aside from 1 or 2 of the recent(ish) Cavs v Warriors finals games. But yeah, this was so well put together it was difficult not to get caught up in it really. Superb from start to finish.
  13. Most recently Chapter 16 of Final Fantasy VII Remake, there’s one part that’s like a theme park ride and it absolutely blew my tits off. I remember being super impressed by Witcher 3 like others here, the first time seeing Hyrule Field in OoT, Halo on OG Xbox, Heavy Rain, The Last of Us and God of War 3 on PS3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Detroit Become Human, Uncharted 4. Probably a ton of others I’m forgetting.

  15. Yeah I adored Arrival (and Nocturnal Animals too for that matter). Saw a couple films recently: Sonic the Hedgehog Went in with low expectations and enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It’s just a fun charming little film. The plot could be written on the back of a cigarette packet and it’s incredibly predictable but it’s jut a nice place to be for a couple of hours. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Knives Out Went in with high expectations for this and it just about matched them. I loved it overall but felt between the 1st and 2nd reveals went a bit slow, after the 2nd reveal it turns magnificent again and the ending is fantastic. So yeah, really enjoyed it and can’t recommend it enough. Rian Johnson is such a treasure.
  16. Played another 4 hours or so over the weekend, so I think I’m about 25 hours in now. Escaped Macalania but had some real problems with the Wendigo boss. So far in the game I’ve not come across a puzzle boss like that in the game so far, the Wendigo kept wiping out my whole team before I could really do anything to combat it so I had to resort to looking online for a guide to see how to do it. I ended up using Rikku’s steal ability to remove the healing abilities of the Guado, Yuna to remove Berserk with Esuna and eventually whittling down the Guado’s health. Once they were dealt with I used all Yuna’s summons to kill the Wendigo, with Ifrit’s Hellfire dealing the killing - 9999 damage - blow. Things turned mega strange after this, a weird dream-like sequence with all the team stuck under the Ice but somehow close to Sin - with Tidus being Wakka finds out Rikku is an Al Bhed and it does this hilarious close up on his eyes. ? It was really jarring going from the Icey surroundings of Macalania straight into the searing heat of the Sanubia Desert, in really strange circumstances too as my entire party had been separated. I really felt like a duck out of water going around this huge desert region on my own, searching for my party members and encountering enemies with far more health than I have previously. Eventually things went more or less back to normal, with me regaining almost all my party members aside from Yuna so I set about exploring this Desert some more, having a great time just grinding away on enemies for a couple of hours. Once I found everything I could see to find in the desert I moved on and found Bikanel Island Town under siege which was definitely unexpected after the serenity and loneliness of the Desert. To be thrown straight into the chaos and the claustrophobia of this small industrial down was quite a shock. The difficulty curve from Bikanel town ramped up massively as well. I still felt like it was fair and could dispatch enemies relatively easily - Auron’s Stonetouch Sword is a godsend - I got wiped quite a few times and had to start over. Before this point in the game I’d only died a handful of times really - and most of those were down to my own stupidity - but here it felt like the game had definitely well and truly removed the training wheels. I continued on here, did some grinding and found all the items I could before leaving it for the day. As I saved most of my party had got 17+ sphere levels so I’m hoping once I put those points in tomorrow things will become at least a little easier, but I’m up for the challenge anyway.
  17. It’s very easy, you upload to Twitter, save onto your phone from there and upload here. Make a twitter account, download twitter on your phone, link with PSN. Problem solved @mfnick. You don’t have to engage with twitter at all, you don’t have to follow anyone and have your account set to private so only people you approve can follow you. It’s literally just for the ease of uploading photos, far less of a faff than making a dummy PS account anyway, for me.
