  1. I'd never really heard of Quantum Break before from completely missing the Xbox last generation, so I've just bought it to, it sounds good
  2. Just back from DnD and I thought it was great. It did a really great job in terms of how it is structured from a story perspective of feeling like DnD sessions leading up to a big conclusion, all the characters feel like they could be being played by people playing the game and it does a really great job of capturing what a complete cluster fuck DnD can feel like at times. Plus it was really good fun and pretty funny as well. Not sure how much it helps that I've been playing DnD on and off for 20 odd years. ....one sleep later.... I was thinking about it more this morning and I still think it is very good but I think the thing it lacked was peril and the excitement that comes from that. DnD for me is at its best when you're in a situation where it looks pretty bleak but you carry on anyway, knowing that actually this could realistically be the end of a character or even a party. The most thrilling nights have been those situations where it either goes very right or very very wrong (or a little of both) and I think that is what the film failed to capture. It does a good job of getting the fun, and some times goofiness that comes from playing DnD but also it is often genuinely edge of your seat excitement which comes from the sense of danger and not knowing for sure What's going to happen, the film doesn't really do this, so maybe the film plays it a bit too much for laughs? Still good though
  3. The satisfaction of cleaning is reward itself. I get your point though. I really enjoyed it, but the skatepark was a chore, and I imagine later levers probably get bigger. It's a good switch off podcast/music game.
  4. We watched the Luther film on Netflix this evening, despite never having seen the show. It was proper dog shit, but I quite enjoyed it still. We're going to start the show now, I assume it'll be better
  5. @shinymcshine how many hours is it looking like roughly?

    TV Shows

Yeah it clips along pretty quick if you're into the story. I enjoyed this season, I agree it is pretty much the same story beats over and over and they need to be more willing to take chances with the characters. You should give it another chance. We're watching it at the moment and after a pretty poor first episode, it becomes something pretty special, especially episode 3 onwards. We've not finished it yet, but I'll be surprised if it isn't just about the best thing Disney have done with Star Wars so far
  7. I'm going to sounded like a proper "boomer" but Final Fantasy now seems so far removed from what made those games exciting to me. It's not a problem I guess, Squenix have no obligation to makes games for me, maybe I should give Octopath a go or something?
  8. Let me know how you get on with it on VR. I tried one of the dirts in VR and was almost instantly sick with the motion. The only VR game I've played that made me feel like that
  9. For me it's Bethesda ARPGs. I've left the vault maybe 3 or 4 times in Fallout 3 never to play it again. I did get a few hours under my belt in Skyrim but never clicked with it
  10. I also picked it up based on the above as well. Played maybe 2 hours so far and really enjoying it.
  11. Is the octopath 2 sleeve meant to be PS1 style, because if so that's pretty cool
  12. I saw Antman 3 this evening, I enjoyed it. Certainly better than most of the phase 4 films. Some of it is nonsense and it probably doesn't hold up to much scrutiny, but it had a lot of good stuff as well. Majors was excellent.
  13. I didn't understand why 89 Batman all of a sudden has way more (CGI) athletic ability then he did 30 odd years ago. Without knowing the background story from the comics (but knowing Flash does do some universe hopping) it does feel a bit like cashing in on the No Way Home nostalgia train. I watched the 89 Batman the other week, it still holds up really well
  14. I read through it last night at about 3am so can only vaguely remember the details, but it all sounds fine. Pattinson Batman and Joker are staying their own self contained thing (can't remember the name they game it) new Superman film in 2025, new Green Lantern TV show and a Game of Thrones style show set in Wonder Woman's homeland that predates the films. Gunn seems like a pretty safe bet, don't really know much about the other guy outside of directing Shazam, but could be good?
  15. Yeah for sure, but it should have been over a season, not 2 episodes
  16. That was a slightly different situation though where they threw out 6 seasons of character development in the last two episodes in order to get the show over the line, so the showrunners to go and direct the Star Wars film they ended up getting fired from. I don't fully know the plot of the games, but know the broad strokes, but I trust in the production team behind this enough to think they can make it work. I've really enjoyed the first two episodes
  17. If you like Gran Turismo you'd probably like them. I'm quite looking forward to this, haven't played a "proper" Forza since 3 on the 360 which is comfortably one of my top 5 games of all time
  18. Beau is afraid looks like a creepy Michael Gondry/ Spoke Jonz film. I'm really excited about it, I loved the previous two films
  19. What's the cut off for this? Not that my list will take me very long anyway
  20. I'm not 100% but I suspect the draft will be in this order:
  21. @Nag also joined. Is there anything specific you need to do with the settings for the draft and league? Wasn't something wrong with the draft process last year?
  22. The console I got closest to launch was PS1 which I got in the November after launch (I think it came out in the Oct maybe?) I'm not sure what the first console I bought with my own money was, maybe a second hand N64 towards the end of its life span, or a second hand Dreamcast at a similar point in its life span. Since the x360 all my consoles have been second hand up until getting the Xbox Series S last year, so I've been fairly frugle with my consoles purchases.
  23. ZX Spectrum 128k was my first computer, I got it for Christmas with a 14 inch telly, I think it would have been 88 or 89, I remember I asked for a computer but was definitely too young to have it probably and would almost certainly have been better with a 2600 or something. First console was a Master System 2 that came with Sonic 1, Barcelona 92 and Alex Kidd built it. Loved that console, had loads of games for it whilst it was the machine I had.
