radiofloyd
It’s an FPS and next-gen exclusive, coming in 2022. No gameplay shown though.
DANGERMAN
iirc correctly the last game was better than the film, so maybe this one will be too. Not that I'll play it, Avatar is absolute shit

mmmark
This looks like it could be great. But being Ubisoft I’m cautiously optimistic.

radiofloyd
Reviews: Destructoid - 9 Gamespot - 8 Game Informer - 7.75 IGN - 7 So this has reviewed well. Could see it being a surprise Christmas hit.
DANGERMAN
They're advertising it hard, but who cares about Avatar?

one-armed dwarf
I think an Avatar game could be cool tbh cause we're sort of at that level now where a game could do a good job capturing the aesthetic of the first film, in terms of visual density and stuff That said, watched eurogamer play it and it looked kinda rubbish imo. It has this detective vision mode that looks like a migraine aura in the middle of the screen which is the most offputting thing I can think of putting in a game like this. vomit
Maryokutai
I think the IP is actually a more interesting backdrop for a game than a movie. If this was any other year I might even have given it a shot (I actually liked the other one on 360) but things being as they are there's just been too many other release that are ultimately more interesting.
one-armed dwarf
Alex seems to quite like this, comparing it to Crysis. Which also has a common lineage with Far Cry I guess
Nag
Just because people like to get angry about things like this... the physical game won't work without a one time connection to that ruddy Internet type thing.🤬
one-armed dwarf
The reason people are angry about that in particular is it means the physical version is pointless, and will one day be unusable entirely when its content server is disconnected
Nag
I know, I'm angry too... grrrrr.
Maryokutai
I wonder why they put it on two discs for Xbox then. If you need to go online to play it anyway, they could have just forced you to download half of it like many other publishers do. (I hope they don't pull this crap with the new PoP game next month.)
