Maf Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 This is for the premium tiers but still Quote Then on 11th June, those on the Premium tier will also be able to get their hands on the following PS2 games, as part of the Classics Catalogue: Tomb Raider Legend Star Wars: The Clone Wars Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus More PS2 games. Apparently their “PS5 native”. Not sure what that means
Maryokutai Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Shouldn't that mean that they're proper ports instead of just being emulated? Which I have some doubts about, regarding licensing rights and whether they are committed to put in that much effort. In any case, TR Legend is a good get, I vaguely remember it being slightly different to the 360 version in some areas, so cool to have that back again.
Maryokutai Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Some PS+ stuff coming on the 16th: https://blog.playstation.com/2024/07/10/playstation-plus-game-catalog-for-july-remnant-ii-crisis-core-final-fantasy-vii-reunion-and-more/ (I don't understand their tiers, so I don't even attempt to try a list.) One really cool thing it includes is Jeanne d'Arc, the tactical RPG from Level-5, which up until this point was exclusive to PSP and didn't get an official release over here. I imported it back in the day and it's an excellent game, easily on the same level as the big classics of that genre. Highly recommend giving it a try (though I don't know how well PSP games scale on a TV).

I remember seeing it in a Virgin Megastore and knew it'd be worth something but never picked it up. Pretty sure it reviewed well at the time, too. Off topic, I also bought a copy of F-Zero: Maximum Velocity in the same store but there was no cartridge in the box...
DANGERMAN Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Makes sense with the summer holidays, but nothing leaps out for me
Maryokutai Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 The SW game is actually decent, though it probably doesn't work if you have no affinity for the IP. I've also heard good things about Ender Lilies, but haven't found the time to try it yet (it's a Metroidvania).
Nag Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted for those who didn't see it announced last night.
DANGERMAN Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 I might play Dead Space. I loved Doki Doki Literature Club, but I already played the free version on pc
Nag Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 It looks and plays beautifully but if you've played the original don't expect anything too groundbreaking.
Nag Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Aliens is decent... although pretty brutal even on normal difficulty.
Maryokutai Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 From my view looks like a good month, because all of those games are titles I'd like to try but wouldn't be willing to purchase right away for different reasons (multiplayer, difficulty, online-only in that order).
Nag Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I will say that I'm definitely not well versed in tactical/strategy games at all... so I might be a bit skewed on the difficulty thing anyway. I'll probably end up replaying it on PlayStation when we have some downtime in regards releases.
Maryokutai Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Doesn't Alien have a permanent time limit or something like that? IIRC there was one design element in that game that put me off completely.
Nag Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I read somewhere that they were patching that so it could be removed, if they did it happened after I'd finished my initial playthough. @Maryokutai 1
