So I decided to trudge through it on my lonesome... Overall it was very brown & very repetative, but was kinda ok when you're shooting stuff, so long as you aren't being shot up yourself, cos the healing system sucks! Oh and don't even get me started on the AI of your squad... There's a few bonus 'FireTeam' missions that I've left untouched as I'm struggling to muster up enough motivation for them - I just wanna be done with it and move onto something else - but if anyone else has this and wants to team-up against the Chinese PLA, give me a shout... It's a retro style platformer, where you play an Indiana Jones lookalike with a twist: You're breaking into museums and returning the artefacts to the Ancient Ruins where they belong (whether they belong there or not). It's got a cute sense of humour, and is fun to play for it's short running time. VVVVVV (PC) Wonderful imaginative and challenging (sometimes brutally so). This game manages to be charming and humorous while still kicking my arse quite a lot. I barely ever got frustrated with it despite dying 1167 times, due to how well designed the stages are. Been slowly working my way through this one and have found a new appreciation for it, and Zelda games generally I guess. It probably is best to play the GC version as while the pointer controls are great the motion stuff not so much. Not game breaking but the swordplay can lack a bit of finesse. Outstanding! And my first ever completed Rockstar game! Whilst not quite perfect (a fair amount of the story, especially the cutscenes, felt a bit too 'staged' or 'convinient'... and there were loads of glitches, although the majority of them were pretty amusing in one way or another...), the entire 75 hours spent on it over the last few months were all amazingly brilliant fun! I've still got several of the challenges to go back to finish off, plus I've hardly touched the co-op stuff - anyone fancy posse-ing up somewhen? Also, I'm gonna crack on with Undead Nightmare ASAP! It's utterly charming, epitomised by the fact there's a button to hug the blob which serves no purpose other than being really cute. It's not particularly taxing, but not patronising or dumbed-down either. Overall it's just a relaxed, easy going experience that I enjoyed very much. I really enjoyed the story and atmosphere, which more than made up for the technical and gameplay limitations such as the aged adventure mechanics (at least 3 actions just to get through a locked door) or the tiny screen resolution, or the dodgy shooting sections. It's a retro style platformer, where you play an Indiana Jones lookalike with a twist: You're breaking into museums and returning the artefacts to the Ancient Ruins where they belong (whether they belong there or not). It's got a cute sense of humour, and is fun to play for it's short running time. I've been meaning to try this for ages, just got to the download page and it says "Download is not yet available".
