Sly Reflex
House of Cards is political, but it's more about a man forwarding his own agenda than anything else. It's more about a guy being a cunt by being manipulative. See also, Breaking Bad.
halfagogo
Just finished with breaking bad, it get very heavy & hard to chew through but pretty satisfied with the ending.
DANGERMAN
I was always told it wasn't a comedy, I think people want to stress that because it's got the guy from Malcolm in the Middle in it, but it's got a bit of humour to it
halfagogo
it has moments of comedy, usually ever so slightly dark & slapstick, especially the early seasons. its get heavy in places but it well worth delving into. when its on tap a la netflix it can be overwhelming, we started it and literally have watched 2 episodes every night (sometimes 3) finishing the last 2 last night. the acting is brilliant as are the 2 main protagonists characters. im delighted we started it, delighted its now over and delighted it has a proper ending with the bonus that you can still make guesses as to what happens to the characters afterwards. radiofloyd
That's crazy. Netflix is only a fiver a month for access to the whole thing. And the first month is free.

Sly Reflex
Aye Nag, go for Netflix, unless you still have tricklenet. It pretty much pays for itself, especially if you're into watching box sets of stuff. Breaking Bad is funnier than you'd expect it to be considering the subject material. retroed
Netflix does 1080p 5.1.
Sly Reflex
His connection might not though. EDIT: Try the trail for Netflix, Nag. If it's not what you want you can always cancel it before they take money. You're losing nothing and have the chance to gain everything.
DANGERMAN
Not to talk nag out of it but it's worth saying that Netflix 1080p isn't bluray quality. I still think he should trial it though, it's a bit limited in film choices but it's a good way to watch Breaking Bad
Hendo
I did the free trial and have never looked back. The only way I watch films and TV shows now pretty much. Still chewing through Buffy.

Uncle Dokuro
I was wondering if anyone with Netflix could recommend some good U.K. shows that I could checkout on the service. I only get to see what BBC America brings over and would love to see what else Great Britain has to offer.
Jimboxy
I was wondering if anyone with Netflix could recommend some good U.K. shows that I could checkout on the service. I only get to see what BBC America brings over and would love to see what else Great Britain has to offer. The Thick of It Peep Show The Inbetweeners Fresh Meat (Never watched it myself, but people seem to say it's good, same writers as Peep Show) Father Ted Luther Black Books Doc Martin - Super gritty medical drama, think ER, but gritty, like a skinned knee Green Wing Shameless - Gets shit after S1 though The Only Way is Essex - Following the actual true life not at all staged events of a bunch of the most vapid, moronic twats you could ever hope not to meet. It's pretty good.
DANGERMAN
Utopia was great and mental Also Broadchurch was great, it rips off The Killing (the original) a bit but it takes a different approach as it goes on
HandsomeDead
Utopia isn't on Netflix yet. Channel 4 never seem to be in a hurry to get stuff on there. The first season of Black Mirror is though and that's pretty good. There's The IT Crowd, too, but I'd say it only becomes truly great in season 4, though the rest is more than watchable. I also think the first series of Teachers is worth a punt... maybe the second at a stretch but don't go beyond that.
Uncle Dokuro
Thanks guys. I've seen the The Inbetweeners on BBC America, but I just noticed they did a movie too so I will be adding that to my queue along with others that were mentioned here. radiofloyd
Fresh Meat is not very good at all. Inebetweeners first two seasons are pure gold. The third season is solid and the movie is awful.
Hendo
The League of Gentlemen - stick with it, terrible laugh track on but a very dark black comedy. Bottom - Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson's finest moments. Blackadder? Also, I loved The Inbetweeners film.
