DANGERMAN
I'd rather skype, my experience of discord is that the voice chat is a bit shit
DisturbedSwan
Of course @mr lakitu I can't guarantee they'll be added into the first episode as I'll likely be learning the editing suite but I'll do my best and hopefully get them in there. If not I should of figured it out by Episode 2, just send me the files through discord, google drive or something. So I think that were going to go for the Sunday (22nd October) at 1pm now, I'll put it on the calendar once @radiofloyd gives that the all clear. I don't mind what we record on @DANGERMAN @Hendo. I think everyone is in the Discord group already so theoretically that'd be easier but if folks are using their phones for mics etc. I guess it could prove problematic. I've never had any issues with Discord voice chat myself but we can use Skype if that's what everyone would be most comfortable with, I really don't mind. The last time I was on a podcast we recorded through Skype. Guest List 22/10/17 Podcast Episode 1: Blakey, Dangerman, Hendo, Mr Lakitu, Radiofloyd.

Jimboxy
Good work everyone. Where are you hosting it? If you want to host it on the site I'll need to set you up an FTP account.

So yeah will put up a the YT video once it goes up (probably sometime on the 24th/25th) so y'all can have a listen.
Hendo
iTunes doesn’t host, only gives people the file coming from a server location. I’m not sure, but I would guess a YouTube link wouldn’t work, you’d need an actual mp3 link, like www.pornhub.com/fisting.mp3

I haven't actually tried it yet, but I was assuming once the recording is done and edited I put it into iMovie or something, put a background with our mug shots on it (maybe game footage if I figure out how) and bob's your uncle, no? Then once the YT video is up I can just link it to here and it'll automatically embed as usual?
Hendo
You can upload to YouTube and link it wherever, yeah. But iTunes RSS feed, you tell it where the RSS is, tell it where the episode is, etc. You have to upload it to your host and then update the ITunes feed and upload that to your host. When people subscribe to a podcast on iTunes they are getting an XML feed. That XML file has all of the code that iTunes needs but all the files, including the XML file, have to be hosted on a server. iTunes hosts nothing but only gives people links. You don’t download podcasts from the iTunes Store. It looks like you do, but you’re not.

Ah I see, well I don't mind sending you the file of the recording when I've edited it and you can handle to iTunes side of things if you'd rather? Definitely sounds like you know much more about it than me! I think I could probably get it up there with some research but yeah, no guarantees. Jimboxy
@Hendo host it on our site and point it at iTunes. We're paying for ridiculous hosting anyway.

Hendo
@Blakey, get @Jimbo Xiii to get you FTP access, host the XML file and podcast files on our server and have a look at what the Google Play store needs. I don’t think it will be the exact same XML as i’m pretty sure the iTunes one has “iTunes” all over it but you might be lucky. Otherwise make two XML feeds.
Jimboxy
If it helps, I don't mind handling the hosting and XML files.

Haha sorry I thought Android folks could listen to iTunes podcasts through Podcast Addict anyway? That's the way I did it when I had an Android phone. You would've been able to listen to it through YT anyway I'll look into Google Play as well then, I'd no idea you could get poddy's on there now. OK I'll have FTP access then please @Jimbo Xiii and/or if it'd be easier I can just send the FTP/XML/iTunes stuff to you if you're sure you don't mind handling it. regemond
@Blakey @DANGERMAN I haven't got a clue how to do iTunes pods on Android. Usually (idle thumbs, giant bomb/beastcast) I'll just go to the page and download. I don't even know how to get them through Google Play without subscribing to their Spotify style service! You can just search for the likes of the Beastcast, then it's just a matter of pulling down to refresh the feed when you think a new one is up
regemond
Well that's a great app. Thanks! Now have a few from the idle network, bomb/beast and Edge & Christian's Pod of Awesomeness ready to go. I've wondered if there was anything like this on Android!
