Hendo
Only did 3 songs, though we did much better than I expected, I was expecting it to be an absolute failure but we did ok. Got there at 12pm and didn't start recording till 3 because of taking all the stuff up 3 flights of stairs, setting up the kit, micing the kit up and then finding dodgy ringing noises that weren't meant to be there when the drums were hit. In the end we did two songs with drums, bass, acoustic strumming and lead electric and a song with the same but an extra finger-picking acoustic guitar too. Here's some pics for your amusement. Testing the drum levels. Deer in headlights performs the bass parts. Drummer gets confused as to his chosen instrument. Recording bass. Those mics got hit during recording a few times, gives an interesting popping sound. Recording engineer adjusting mic, me wondering what the hell I'm doing on an acoustic guitar, and a pervy drummer watches on and takes pictures. Twang. Hendo
Pffft, those songs have been written a long time, we've gone well past that point. We're more about the screaming at each other, "you're playing it WRONG!". And yes, illdizzle, I believe they are. The ugliest shoes in the world, according to t'internet. So you guys are really living the dream eh, dont stop believing Hendo, remember too that some will win, some will lose and some are born to sing the blues. Hendo
Not yet, sorry. Didn't get anything out of it myself. We're going back in on Sunday and should get all the vocals, mandolin, violin and extra percussion bits done, and any bits of guitar or bass that in the cold light of day need re-doing. DANGERMAN
Enjoyed this. The Tom Waits reference made me laugh. As for stand out songs, probably the ones I've already heard, but that might just be familiarity talking. I liked the last song too, but other than that i'll have to give it more listens to say anything constructive EDIT: The Abbey is really good

DANGERMAN
would it be a horrible insult to say that the second track reminds me of Del Amitri?
Hendo
It's the closest thing we have to a pop song, so that's probably fair. Can I have some artwork for it, please? I need some.. anything, or I won't be able to sleep. Haven't got anything, if anyone wants to be kind and design something?
