  1. I played a bit too, i have a problem with picking stuff up, spending most of my time picking stuff up, getting overencumbered then having to work out what to drop. Im working on my weight lifting skillz. Its odd though in other ways the game is really streamlined with fast travel and stuff. So ive wasted a lot of time, but also saved a lot of time, its sort of evening itself out. the graphics are a mixed bag sometimes i think it looks really nice, other times it looks odd/bad. the tutorials arent great, especially ship flight. quite enjoying it so far anyway.
  2. ^ iirc DANGERMAN liked it on 3ds. Not really surprising as its not my sort of game but i didnt like it. The 3d actively works against you making stuff look like its in the background but you can die from running into it.
  3. I never used to like open world games, i dont mind as much now, maybe just got used to them as so many games went that direction, not sure. The two latest zelda games make a good argument for open world. Think im quite good at ignoring open world stuff, like witcher 3 and cyberpunk i can just ignore a lot of the map markers and get on with the main quest.
  4. Thats cool, think i need to move advance wars and kirby out of my old games bit too then ( and maybe batsugun too)
  5. Maraca based rhythm action game. The original on dreamcast was great, with maraca controllers, not played it in years mind. Was a bit sceptical about this, didnt think the joycons would work that well for the motion controls, but it works a lot better than i expected, probably partially because it seems pretty lenient in recognising hits. But at the same time it doesnt work quite as well as as it could, id expect the vr version to be better, think its quest exclusive? the music selection is sort of similar in that its better than i expected, but it could also have been better still. Didnt recognise most of the songs by name but playing through them theres certainly enough songs that ive been enjoying playing through, even though i maybe wouldnt listen to them outside the game. To register normal hits It doesnt work based on the height of the controller, it uses the angle of the controller, so if you hold your hands up the controller will angel up automatically, for middle hits your supposed to hold them straight, and for down you point them down. Its probably easier to explain how it works with a video (ill try and add one later) but theres 6 locations you can shake a maraca/controller at (top middle bottom, and each have left/right) thats how the original worked, with iirc some posing where you hold a pose. The new version has maybe too much posing and other stuff like movements/dancing stuff going on. The ones where you slide the controllers around to match movements on screen are a bit odd too in that they start far too quickly for you to follow them entirely (unless you memorise them i guess), the game doesnt care too much though and will give you a perfect hit as long as you follow the last bit ok, its sometimes a bit vague what youre supposed to be doing though which isnt great for a rhythm action game. Usually the game just gives you the benefit of the doubt and registers a hit even if im not sure i hit the note, sometimes it goes the other way though, although maybe i need to get better at it. Because of the above, if you want to play it seriously for high scores and stuff its maybe not great, although again maybe i need to get better. But i would say it is pretty fun and im enjoying it, no regrets on getting it. not tried playing with a pad yet, which worked well in the original, suspect with all the dancing/sliding going on in this it might not work as well here? the graphics i quite like (after thinking the graphics looked a bit crap in the trailer) its mainly just a load of mad stuff going on in the background, and ive got a cool hat. Its very colourful. for sonic fans the blue guy is in this dancing and stuff. oh yeah theres a roulette thing which seems odd, you can toggle it off, which i have. theres also an ios version, not sure if its quite the same game though. ive mostly been playing the songs in the quickplay mode, but there is a sort of single player thing which seems to be just challenges, most of which are quite easy so far but the one to not miss notes is really annoying but looks like it can be skipped. anyone else giving it a go? The trailer shows how the gameplay works, although in very short bits
  6. Cheers Nag! Mines sort of not listed but im sure itll work anyway.
  7. Yeah i was tempted to leave it till it was cheaper too. finished it now, about 10 hours total. The last boss was the first time the combat got a bit annoying, dying seemed a bit random but not too bad really, its not a long fight though which helps, took about 5 retries. not much more to add on what ive already said. enjoyed it. still lots left to do, will probably try and do all the high five things at least.

    Starfield

Oh man that sucks. dont know why i thought they fixed that a while ago.
  9. This is the jet set radio alike, came out on friday on pc and switch, coming soon on ps/xbox i believe. As its so similar to jsr i guess ill be making a lot of comparisons. back in the day i was a big fan of the jet set radio games, playing them recently and while the music and graphics hold up great, skating around is still fun, for me the story mode objectives and stuff around that dont hold up too well, both games have different problems imo. So i was sort of excited for this new sort of clone game i was also a bit worried if they copied the gameplay too much i might not like it that much. i think so far the gameplay is good fun, its not amazing or anything but better than jsr. The police dont seem to be able to stop you painting stuff. Sometimes the levels feel a bit sparse. The intro/tutorial is a bit boring. The combat is not really annoying so far. Controls are good, definitely better than jsr for controls. the game is split up into quite a few different activities, most of the time youll be skating around graffiting as much as possible to gain rep, then you can challenge people, they get you to do stuff like follow a specific route/combo/ high score/ etc. Finding the graffiti points can be fun sort of like getting the orbs in crackdown, trying to work out how to get to some higher ones. The score attack ones can be fun too. The best bits for me are seemingly optional challenges of high fiving some signs in a row to unlock stuff, and one difficult sort of platforming bit that seemed optional to get up to a high up graffiti point. Generally just skating around the map can be fun when youve worked out some routes, at first it can seem a bit sparse in some areas though. Theres also dreamscape style platforming sections which are a bit hit and miss imo. the graphics and music are still so good in jsr, some of the best looking and sounding games ever made imo, i may still have rose tinted specs on here, but i think this does a great job the graphics and music are really good imo, the graphics especially, at times, look just like you would expect from jsr, or maybe a modern version of it. Although this is where i think is not as good as jsr, maybe being a bit harsh here, especially on the graphics as they are great. The music is good too just not as great as the old games imo. there is a story but not sure i care too much about it, the dialogue is often silly but i dont think that really matters. The bits where they introduce new crews and theyre all dancing - i love those bits - maybe for nostalgic reasons. i got mildly stuck twice so far not knowing what to do for a bit, the first bit the game signposts ok tbh i just was not expecting a mild puzzle element, the second bit its not always clear what to do next, like sometimes the police arrive and you have to take them out, sometimes you dont. But while stuck i was just looking for more graffiti points so not wasted too much time. I would say definitely better than jsrf here. no idea how long the game is but been playing maybe 7 hours or so. i got it on pc, think it was £33.5. Performance seems really good, think its running at 4k. so yeah im pretty impressed with it so far, if you like jsr and always wanted a new one then id recommend it, i wasnt sure about getting it at the initial price but dont regret it, even though im not as keen on jsr as i used to be. anyone else getting it?
  10. Yeah would definitely get a switch 2. would like a new VR headset but theres oculus and psvr2 exclusives etc dont know which one to get. pc could do with a graphics upgrade in the next year or so but with the way prices have gone there not sure ill bother.

    Random News II

Bomb rush cyberfunk out today on pc/switch, later on ps/xb, really want to get it but not seen any reviews so waiting would be more sensible
  12. yeah i've seen some of this, it's pretty crappy, having said that i agree with what DANGERMAN's saying there they do have some interesting videos sometimes. edit - hadnt seen the other stuff coming out around this potentially much worse
  13. Yeah super meat boy is a good shout. Also for platformers id go with donkey kong jungle beats, replayed that a few times and every time its amazing. Tetris is a good shout too. Some more for me - Rock band 3, persona 4 dancing all night, Pgr 4, mario kart 8, rez, dishonoured 2, ketsui, mushihimesama futari, beat saber. yeah i guess it is just a list of favourite games but i guess with trying to think which ones couldnt be any better or only have minor problems vs ones that i like despite the problems. Like destiny, gravity rush, and mirrors edge i really like but they have problems. some that would get full marks back in the day from me but not sure they would now like deus ex, halo 3, gp2, toca 2, cmr 2.
  14. Yeah that looks cool, ive ordered a playdate so might have one within a few years. dodonpachi doj got a release date of 7th dec

    Pikmin 4

finished everything in this the other day, still could go back and get better scores on the battles and the last set of challenge levels but some of those were hard enough to just finish so think i'm done with it for now, overall was really great, took just under 50 hours which seems a lot longer than previous pikmin games, although i can't really remember how long 2 and 3 are, 1 i think is quite a short game. i think the short game works well for pikmin so sort of surprised how well it does for 50 hours, think it works out well because the less amazing stuff is nearer the beginning and as it goes on it gets better and better imo.
  16. nice choices my favorites are the same except id swap laputa for kiki’s. yeah psycho pass is really good, especially the first season imo. edit - some others i really like are silver spoon and planetes, oh and the films your name and a silent voice, most people already seen or heard of your name i guess.
  17. driveclub, ketsui, sunset overdrive, into the breach hard to remember these, sure theres loads more Agree with a lot already mentioned like killer 7 and vanquish

    Pikmin 4

I think this game just keeps getting better, going back to get better times on the timetrials and doing the last 10 bonus challenge levels was a lot of fun. And if id done that before the one bit i didnt like about the game would have been a lot easier as you get a

    Pikmin 4

day 50, 40 hours, still stranded, well have finished it 100% on all(?) the areas, did the bonus mini story game thing, still loads of stuff to do - the tower defense stuff, getting better scores on the timetrial and battles, and there's another challenge/timetrial mode thing to do too. the only bad bit has been one item to collect needed which was a bit boring to get them. and i don't like how you can't replay battles/timetrials straight away. the rest has been really good imo, i think it gets better after the credits. more different modes and stuff to do than previous games but maybe not as focused/streamlined, maybe a bit too drawn out although i am still enjoying it. i don't like the tower defense mode as much as the rest of it but it's still pretty fun. yeah the rpg stuff is fine, not too intrusive, but it does mean stuff like the timetrials etc are easier if you do them at the end and have all the moves and stuff.
  20. yeah exactly that, it uses both sticks to control the steering and doesn't explain it too well, the different cars handle pretty differently too, some i never really got the hang of.
  21. Inertial drift is really good, takes some getting into mind

    TV Shows

Yeah fair enough I watched it, its only short and was interesting/worth watching, i thought spoilers would ruin it but also they were promoting it pretty heavily, there were loads of adds during the f1. I remember thinking that sounds interesting, wondered why i hadnt heard about it from other news/radio or whatever, although i dont keep super up to date on news so its feasible i wouldnt know about a new wonder meat substitute.

“Completed” it on day 29, 17 hours, loads left to do and finishing it unlocks more stuff too including a mode that seems more like the first game. The ending is
