No one else thinks this is cool? I think this is cool. I know how I’m going to be playing Dragon Quest 8 when I complete some of my current games Just not sure which version to play. The PS2 or 3DS version
-
Whoops how did that happen Actually with a lot of fucking aggro. The problem with a lot of these tutorials is they skip over things that probably seem really basic but when you need a button by button guide - I really need everything explained Actually I have this running on desktop mode but not on Steam. I need a rom manager apparently. Anyone know if that’s worth doing or just play in desktop? EDIT: Figured it out

I've only beaten 1 deck 1 time. I don't mind playing from the beginning And what do you mean Sonic isn't like Stalin. It's more like vegetables and ice cream

I’m sure I’ve talked shit about remakes again recently BUT CAN YOU IMAGINE I was thinking last week since Sonic Mania did so well what if they made another retro Sonic game but with the Saturn model/style graphics? They should make another small-medium budget game but like, the Saturn Sonic that never was EDIT: I don’t mean based on the cancelled Saturn Sonic games, just a new game with that look
-
When this Sonic series is done I hope they make a new one and it’s animated

Both Bastilla and HK-47 are brilliant. Man, I love KotOR and really want to play those games again. I might try one more time to mod them on PC again this year, if not I’ll just settle for the Switch versions

Maybe it's because this was my first cyborg ninja But this is still one of the coolest muthafuckas of all time

Ayy, well done Now I’ve beaten my first deck I’ve let my self watch more videos on how to play the game and what big scores look like. I did watch one video on basics because I was struggling but now I’ve worked it out a bit in my own I’ve started watching how good players play to pick up more advanced stuff Think I might get the Steam version for cheap as well at some point, as I enjoy playing it on iPad but it kills the battery, and I find when I start playing this game I end up playing for fucking hours at a time

Even though she’s only in it a bit and mostly in the beginning, I love Saria from OoT specifically for this moment I think it’s a really lovely bit of story telling which OoT is underrated for in general She also has one of the best songs in a game full of the best songs so there’s that as well

Thanks for doing it @Nag I think it’s a really good top 3. Astrobot is super high quality, refreshing for Sony, and just a really good 3D platformer which you don’t see many of at this level. I don’t quite like it as much as everyone else, but #3 I think is right Even though I fell off Metaphor around the 20hr mark, I did really like it and been thinking about it a lot and gearing up to get back in to it. Gameplay systems are a bit derivative of Persona, and after Persona 3 Reload in the same year it’s hard to ignore, but I really like what that game is about and definitely going to be a game I get back to soon Balatro is evil

Beat a level 50 optional dragon yesterday and judging by what the characters said, and hopefully because of how many dragons I’ve killed, that’s the last one in side quests. A big problem with this game is how repetitive the bosses are. Dragons all largely have the same move set and behaviour, as well as some other bosses might have a different model/look but after one attack it’s like oh, it’s one of these enemies. I don’t remember the story of the development of this game. Did they have to restart it multiple times or something? I don’t mean to be an asshole, because despite how it sounds I like this game and enjoy playing it, but not sure why it took 10 years to make. It feels like a Bioware game from 15 years ago, made with PS4 era gameplay trends If there’s any game it’s most similar to it’s actually Dragon Age 2. You really do just visit the same locations over and over, fighting the same enemies over and over, with characters and a story that are quite typical and pedestrian (Even Solas and Varric are the main continuing characters from previous games, who first appeared in DA2) What makes the game good is the fighting is really fun, the loot system is really smart, it looks pretty nice, and it’s got a bit of that open world/check list compelling gameplay without being overburdening. For a AAA, EA, mainstream-esq game it’s remarkably restrained in lots of ways with a bit of bloat, but not offensively so like an Assassin’s Creed, pretty much the same way Mass Effect 2 and 3 had side quest stuff. So there are good things about it and I do like it (repeating that because I know how it reads) but am also wondering why this game took 10 years. It’s neither especially innovative or unique or special or brilliant. It’s just quite good. So the 10 year time gap makes me wonder how the development on this game was

@shinymcshine so funny enough the thing that won for me was a deck of 30 spade cards, a joker that gave +3 mult for every spade scored, a joker that gave +15 mult if had no discards left (made it good for just discarding any non-spade), a joker that gained x0.01 multiplier for each planet card used (got it up to 3x) and those planet cards levelled up my flush and straight flush to +7 So the game plan was to just discard any non-spade as fast as possible to get flush/straight flush and get rewarded for it. It’s why on the win screen it says I only played flush 12 times because 1 flush hand was over 50k points and beat most rounds with 1 hand So to come back to your question of weighting the deck for the right suite was by using booster packs and arcane packs. Booster was just adding more spades, arcane was deleting non-spade, duplicating spades and the best card that lets you turn any 3 cards in to spades. Basically trying to push for anything that adds, deletes, changes or duplicates. If lucky enough for tarot cards to,appear they can shift/weight the deck in a direction really heavily.

I know it would defeat part of the game. But one thing I’ve got really bored of very quickly is constantly working out what hands I have to play. I think the interesting part of this game is the deck building part, not the working out do I have a flush or not. I kind of wish there was just a button that tells me what hands I have available to me at any given time. And the choice is then playing something or discarding something. I know people will hate that idea, but I feel it would really speed the game up

I think I might be done with this game. I recognise it’s very good, but I’m just not very good at it. I’ve had 2 ok runs so far and all the others have collapsed around ante 3-5. It’s also a game that takes a bit too long to get going Effectively there’s 3 stages to my experience. There’s a very samey start, a confused middle where I’m trying to see what I can make work, then limping along until inevitable failure A couple of those runs have broken that progression, but even then I never felt like I had a strong deck, I was just getting by I dunno. And just starting over and over is kind of boring. It is a very good game, but I’m not good at it. What it wants from the player I’m never going to be very good at. I just can’t do long form strategy of any type. There’s also too much to think about for me. I got to the first boss on like ante 2 or something. The rule was have to play 5 cards, I was like ok. So I was discarding and changing trying to find a full house, ended up with 4 of a kind which I never get and was like yes play that, then it said it didn’t count because I have to play 5 cards ahh short term memory This game is amazing at surfacing everything I’m not very good at. Strategy, memory, and piecing things together.

Noooo! I’m so mad!. I was one good hand away from beating the deck I’ve never had to think so hard about random bullshit before in my life I had the best Joker of all time earlier. The Seltzer that just makes every card go twice for 10 hands. I should have skipped more fights

My only problem with BotW being #1 is TotK exists. TotK is literally the same but better in every single way. The only thing BotW has over its sequel is its quieter, less manic and first impression. But it’s not like TotK doesn’t have quiet spaces to explore or have more impressive things in it

Literally dealing the hand I’m dealt That was my best run. I’ve had other runs where 2 pair was levelling up, or was just trying to hang on to a good combination of Jokers. But haven’t beaten a deck yet. Got up to Ante 7 on Red Deck so far One thing I realised after I stopped playing last night is I need to focus on building my chips up more. I think that’s been a big problem for me so far
