Which I assume this is because the reveal trailer has Link and Zelda going in to the bottom of the same Hyrule Castle from BotW then taking off in to the sky. So I wondered how they would get around the problem of having the same map. Seems like, and I could be wrong in many number of ways, but kind of seems like they just said fuck it

I really liked Valhalla. Even though it is still filled with busy work and clearing out zones by completing lists of activities, I thought the actual activities themselves had more thought out in to them and were less copy and paste than they have been before. For example a common thing you find everywhere is a chest locked in a building, but working how to get in was usually quite challenging and took a lot of exploring to do. So repetitive objective, but not a recycled challenge. Which is better than say Unity where it was like there’s 250 chests you just have to walk up to them and open it. That was a really bad and brainless content The problem with Valhalla is it’s just too long. Even though I think they really put more effort in to the content, the sheer amount of it kills itself and it becomes boring. If the game were half the size it would be twice as good But even though there are improvements in Valhalla I still prefer the style and idea to classic AC. So Mirage is a game I’m actually really excited about. A return to that type of game with the modern improvements, could be really great

Playstation day as well as Nintendo day? Damn man might as well be pizza day too I want some more PSVR2 stuff. I’m pretty excited about it and I think it’s going to be a thing that really helps PS distinguish itself from the competition and keep PS different

I think one of my many problems with the MCU is I’ve seen it once already. Watching it build, expand and unbelievably deliver on something as insane as a 23 blockbuster film saga was pretty incredible and despite some weaker films in there it was always exciting because of the push to Thanos. Fair enough Endgame as a whole was a bit on the weaker side because for some reason it jumps through every hoop possible not to be what it has to be before finally caving and giving you the final 45 minutes of what it should have been for 2 hours. But I think about how many films can’t even land the trilogy so the fact it delivers as well as it does is pretty special. I digress But now we’re resetting and doing it again. With a general decrease in quality, less interesting characters, more slapdash tie ins, less fun cameos and lack of direction. I’ve seen this already. And I saw them do it better. Now I think Secret Wars is going to be awesome, and I feel confident on how they’re going to get there and when those blocks start being put in place it should get fun again. But the current lot of films/shows aren’t really pushing towards it except for Loki and Dr Strange 2 (kind of), and even those titles were Ok to pretty Ok. Instead it’s spaghetti at the wall kind of all over the place and the spaghetti’s not cooked enough either So I feel like when things start coordinating more it’ll get fun again. But still I’ve already seen it once. Trying to do the same thing again but significantly not as good. How are you supposed to stay excited?

I think they know they need big, new games to replace the old ones. That’s why they bought so many studios. But been slow going to see some real results from that. I don’t want Halo to go away but it feels like it really has reached an evolve or die stage. It’s just not a relevant series anymore and chasing past glory and keep coming back to “look at how Halo changed console shooters…20 years ago” it just doesn’t matter. I don’t think Zelda ever got as rusty or lost it’s way as much as Halo but Halo needs it’s BotW game to bring it back. I think they tried to do that here which is why it’s called Infinite and the first teaser trailers was Chief looking over vast areas. But sounds like this was too much for them and they had to cut and cut and cut until the point it doesn’t even have local split screen anymore. I also think they called it Infinite because this was meant to be a new ‘base’ for Halo. That the next decade of Halo would come from. But less than a year after release they have heads of studios go, delays upon delays for what should be basic features, unhappy community because of multiplayer progression systems and dwindling players. Halo has to change radically but in to what I dunno.

I think they need to completely reinvent it and make it a 3rd person shooter instead. I know they already have Gears but Master Chief is supposed to be the master of every vehicle and weapon. I think it would be cool to see that more. Not sure what happened with Infinite. It’s a good game, but nothing special and not close to ye old Halo. Not sure if the back to basics approach didn’t work or going by the marketing and stories from announcement to end product they overreached and couldn’t make the game they wanted. But either way I think something needs to change for this series. If I were Microsoft I’d be looking at one big single player DLC expansion to wrap up the story and then hard reboot. But what do I know maybe Halo is just old and no one cares anymore

So this is now the 3rd one I’ve set up and it’s the lifting and stuff is why I paid for them to do it. The stand is easy to screw in. What’s not easy is trying to tip the tv over, decide you’ve laid it down wrong, try to lift it and prop stuff under it, get the heights on the props wrong so it slides off, then put the stand on which weighs almost as much as the TV, then tilt it back up and then lift it with one hand underneath and one hand on the side and try not too squeeze BY YOURSELF I’m going to send an email after work today and ask for my £45 back It’s a 65 @Nag

Halfway through Lord of the Rings ep3 and I give up. I have no idea what’s going on, I don’t really care. It’s an amazing looking show but I can’t pretend I’m not bored as fuck

New TV turned up today. Run a bunch of different YT videos to test the screen and everything seems fine so far. Maybe the slightest, slightest couple of lines down the screen but honestly not sure if they're real, and I've tested different looking content and can't see anything while viewing that so should be nothing. Although the new delivery people didn't set this one up for me and there was no one to help me do so I think I ended up doing absolutely everything the box tells you not to do to the Tv. I was tipping it over, slightly bending it, grabbing it by the corners, trying to place it on the styrofoam pieces it comes in but fucked it up and Tv was sliding around on the screen. I lifted it by myself in probably the worst way. Thankfully this is the lightest Tv of the C series. I remember seeing that when I was thinking about getting one and not caring, but proved helpful today. All nail biting stuff I was getting so mad and sweating very heavy 😓 But it's done now and everything seems fine. Going to try get my £45 back as well because the woman on the customer service line said they'd set this one up for me too. I hate handling expensive pieces of equipment. Always makes me shit myself.

I think it just adds to the general conversation of being underwhelmed by Marvel since Endgame. The movies have been good but not great, and the shows have been middling and only sometimes good, and that's left people underwhelmed. Then all this hope for the future Marvel stuff and it's like "Here's a picture of the Thunderbolts". I sort of respect the top Marvel bosses for sticking with this plan they had and trying to shoulder D+ at the same time. But I think it's safe to say they need to start fast tracking X-Men and quick.

I've said it before but I like saying it so I'll say it again. The Series X is a brilliant console. Not only does it play most modern games the best, it plays old games the best, it has great features (VRR, Smart Delivery, quick start), it's really fast, and of course the value of Gamepass is just unmatched. The only downsides is it could be a bit better to use. You get used to it but at first it is a bit like where is everything. The second problem, and it is a big one, is it just hasn't had any big Xbox flagship games to flex with. Halo Infinite was cool but still not a patch on Bungie Halo, and Forza H5 was great but I think is a series suffering from diminishing returns. Still waiting for all these studio purchases to deliver on that front. It is normal for the newest console to be better than the last, and with the Xbox One it's not that hard I guess, but I really think the Series X is the best Xbox console full stop and by quite a ways. It's a shame about the big games but I'm completely satisfied with the new Xbox. It's really, really good and it's this and the Switch where I spend most of my video game time.
