For games exclusively made for the PS5 and XSX I could always see werent going to be 4k60. But I thought last gen/cross gen games would be at least. Apart from RTX modes anyway.

    Persona 5 Strikers

Completed. Took around 30 hours. Thoughts at the end were basically same as at beginning. It’s basic, but spending time with Phantom Thieves again was great. The new characters were also all great IMO. Some of the later designs are pretty cool. I never clicked fully with the combat. It was ok and nowhere near as bad I was expecting it to be. I was tired of it by the end. In fact I did get a bit tired of the game overall by the end. I’d say I really enjoyed it for about 25 hours but that last 5 was a bit of a slog, I was just ready for it to finish even though some fairly interesting story beats happen. Overall I definitely still recommend it to fans of the main game. For the most part I really enjoyed it and it’s a lot more Persona than you may expect. If the combat clicks for you there’s a ton of side content to do too - mostly just kill X enemy at X location but it’s there if you want it. 7/10

  4. Sold. Nintendo fans are mental. Someone paid me £42 for it even though I paid £38 brand new. Insane.
  5. I’m not hooked on them anymore but I still really like them & miss them when they’re not there. Great excuse to keep playing a game I really like to get them too. I don’t get how “proud” and snobbish some people seem to be about not liking them anymore. Not aimed at you btw. Just saying.

Am I the only one disappointed that more recent games like this which are targeting last gen consoles still can’t do native 4k60 on supposedly vastly superior hardware? What gives? I know some will be down to developing specifically to a hardwares strengths but if the XSX and PS5 are as powerful as people keep saying why can’t they brute strength that more easily?
  7. I don’t like playing on PC’s. I have wish I did, the positives are numerous - 60fps much more attainable, backwards compatibility, cheaper games etc. But I just don’t. I can’t even explain why but I just don’t ever feel comfortable on them. Plus for me I couldn’t do with the ability to upgrade them. As soon as a game said it couldn’t do ultra settings anymore I’d be furious and have to upgrade again. I’d be broke within the year. On a console, you can’t do anything about it so I’m not as bothered. & regardless of how much easier PCs are these days it’s still a far cry from the consoles. Take BC for example, I tried playing HotD Overkill on new laptop and I had to fuck about for over 30 minutes trying to get it to work & googling what was up with it. Plus I want to play on my TV - yes you can now but don’t the big picture modes still have issues? Plus HDR is much less of a thing and as I’ve said many times before, when that’s done right it’s far more impressive then resolution and slightly better graphics. As big and ugly as the PS5 is, it’s still smaller than a PC tower too. No way would I get away with fitting a PC under Tv. I also really like trophies and achievements. I genuinely get more out of my games with them. Always miss them when playing in Switch too. Steam achievements are bullshit so no point in mentioning them. Too easy to cheat them and they somehow feel far more worthless.
  8. Those end battle SFX though. I know a series will never get the budget of a film for that type of stuff, but yeesh they were bad.

Seen GB play a bit of GTFO. Lost interest.

    Gears X Aliens. Interested.
  11. Yea I get that but, what I’m saying though is if I get the + version it won’t let me buy it. So would I be locking myself out of the digital version upgrade if I do that? Saying that if I intend to buy it again anyway I may as well just not get the + version & save any confusion. But what will happen to those who get the + version when it comes time to upgrade since you can’t actually buy it again? Unless it lists the PS5 version as a separate purchase on the store.
  12. I’m confused by all this can’t upgrade the PS+ version to PS5 and get the DLC. Which is fucking ridiculously stupid. Fuck Square for that. Wankers. Saying that, I’m a sucker and still want the PS5 update and DLC. So, am I better off not redeeming the + version and buying it in a sale later? I know when you own games on + it doesn’t let you buy them so would it effectively lock me out of the upgrade unless I buy the physical version again? What a stupid problem/concern that doesn’t need to exist.
  13. Point Blank DS? Didn’t know that was a thing? Is it different at all from the PS1 games? Surely that’s the easiest game ever if your just tapping targets rather than trying to shoot them?

    Persona 5 Strikers

It’s a pain and not ideal but if you hold R1 for the abilities it pauses combat so I’ve been using that to basically stop combat to double check which character is on which direction. Helps a bit. To heal Futaba if you select heal it pops up a L1 prompt to pick her. Not sure on the SP thing when doing the ability swap either. I’m definitely getting better at reading what’s going on in combat and managing to dodge attacks a lot better. The SP issue is better now I’ve specced Bond levels to replenish and increase it too. Still just think it’s far too busy to actually appreciate what’s going on though.
  15. The third is fantastic but its Metroid and Souls like, not Zelda.
  16. So, 10 hours in, is Persona meets Musou any good? Thankfully, yes! Even if like me, you don’t like Musou games. This is basically a direct sequel to Persona 5 but with a new combat system. So much so that I could not recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played P5 main. But for those of us who have played and enjoyed the original I highly recommend it. From the first moment all the characters came together and started having a chat in Sojiro’s I had a huge grin on my face, so great having the Thieves back together. There’s also a new member who I absolutely love and has already become a favourite of mine. She is great and the voice acting delivery is spot on for her. There’s another major new character in this too who is also fantastic, when he makes some discoveries (sorry to be vague - spoilers) the interactions have been brilliant and I’ve laughed out loud a few times. It is still the most stylish game series ever too. There are issues, it’s definitely a cut back Persona experience. The social stuff outside the meta verse is practically non existent which is disappointing. It does have character interactions, side quests etc. but there’s very little to do really. I do appreciate the totally different locations though provided by the road trip narrative. The Palaces/Jails aren’t anywhere near as interesting and fleshed out as in P5 main either. Still has that visual flourish though thankfully & I’m enjoying the parallels with the main characters. Now, the combat. I’m still not sure about it but it’s a lot better than I expected. First of all, it’s actually not a s much of a Musou game as I thought it was. You don’t have a huge boring areas where you’re just mashing square doing 700hit combos thank God. You’re still in traditional style dungeons, the enemies are singular in the environment like in the main game and you start battles with them in the same way. When you do start a battle they explode into a lot of enemies in a combat arena but not to the numbers of a Warriors game. It’s something like 10-20+ for most battles made up of shadow fodder enemies and Persona enemies. Some are larger in scale but that’s the normal scenario. It is surprisingly deep too, you have lots of combat abilities, different combos for each character and different special abilities as well as Persona abilities along with baton passes, All out, 1 more attacks etc from the main game. The problem is it’s all just too chaotic IMO. The amount of stuff happening in screen is ridiculous as well as all the UI elements it’s really hard to actually tell what’s going on making it near impossible to actually plan and be smart about your attacks. Any tactics go out the window. Good luck actually pulling off any character combos as well, it’s so easy to get hit due to the chaos while doing them you’ll usually get knocked out of it, you’re basically better mashing and hoping. The other problem is any Persona enemy is basically immune to square attacks. You need to use your Persona on them, which is fine but the SP needed to use them is incredibly stingy. You can leave and re-enter the meta verse through checkpoints which replenishes it but it has to load twice and there’s some menus to press through, it’s a bit of a pain, why not just replenish it at the checkpoint? But it’s still reasonably fun, even with these issues. I’m going to give it a few more hours to see if the chaos gets easier to parse out but I may end up dropping it to easy just to enjoy the story if I can’t get better at controlling what’s going on. It’s by no means ruining the game like I expected it too but I much prefer the turn based stuff off the main game. Everything else about it is absolutely fantastic, I’m loving it regardless of the problems.
  17. Must be the first, the others moved away from the Zelda structure. Following on from Nags post, mines Okami ? Seriously though, my first was Link to the Past which I enjoyed but found a bit too confusing and always got lost as a kid. Played it later and though it was good but not amazing. Favourite is Ocarina of Time by far. At the time I agreed completely with all the best game of all time accolades but I’ve not really enjoyed any of the others in the series since.

    Panzer Dragoon

Yep, make it multi platform straight away this time. Really killed my enthusiasm for the first remake being a stuttery Switch only game.
  19. Don’t know about Nag, but personally I think it’s far scarier than Dead Space. Dead Space has a great atmosphere and a few jumps but I didn’t find it actually that scary. REVII though, that is genuinely scary at times. Especially through the first 3/4 of it.
  20. We believe in generations... To be fair they at least have a couple of big hitters that are 5 only. But still.
  21. Got around to watching State of Play. It was ok I guess. Sifu looks awesome. But excitement tempered somewhat as I really didn’t like Absolver. I’ll definitely be getting the FFVIIR Remake content and will play through that again when the PS5 patch hits. Solar Ash could be good. Where were the PS5 games at? How can they not have any new PS5 only games to show yet? Wank.

    PlayStation Plus

Seriously? That’s fucking stupid. Still, killer Plus month once again.
  23. Yea I’d be interested if they bring that to consoles too. Fingers crossed.

    Dead Space

You thinking if playing 2 after this? I never completed that even though I was loving it - stupid shite attention span and love of all new shiney distractions. May start it again and play through it at same time if you do. I do remember a kindergarten section being particularly unnerving and horrible to get through when I played it all those years ago.
  25. It’s worth persevering with for that final level if you’re already that close. The final Marathon level is good too. You will need all the stamps as well though, apart from those final 5 bullshit ones. Dont worry it lets you access that last world without them, thank God. Because like you said, fuck that!
