    E3 2021

Remember this shit? https://in.ign.com/tech/139506/news/e3-2020-reportedly-may-become-a-festival-with-queuetainment-and-disney-fastpass-style-system I do enjoy having a big gaming news week but fuck them. Plus how they just let all those journalists and developer personal details get out so easily. & how they’re basically mouth pieces for big publishers and just do what they say. Fuck. Them. I hope it fails and never comes back properly.
  2. Yea boi! Congrats.

    Undertale

It’s on Game Pass so finally giving it a go. Glad I read this. I’m about 1.5-2 hours in and I’m not particularly enjoying it. I was doing a pacifist run apart from one I killed near the beginning which I felt slightly cheated by. But after reading Dangers comment I think I may start killing a few more as that sounds annoying later on and repeating the Spare conditions is getting slightly annoying especially with the repeating enemies. Would much prefer it if I spared something like a frog enemy it never appeared again but hey ho. Ive just done the skeletons bit and the part after which was good and reached the waterfall dungeon. I’ll keep on but I really don’t see what all the hype was about so far. Reading it’s about 7-10 hours too which seems a bit much. Maybe at 4-5 I’d be ok but not sure I can go that long if it doesn’t pick up significantly.
  4. Is this just basically asking which games we’d like to have remastered again? If I’m being a bit more strict with mine as in games from last gen with a 60fps patch maybe with 4k... All of them really. But if I have to pick one, I guess Last of Us Part 2. I can’t really think of any major hitters that haven’t had it yet. I can see Bloodborne for the people who like that game though. Surprised it’s not had a next gen patch already. Bet they’re going to try and sell it again instead.
  5. Finally in the Xbox sale. Dont know why pic is upside down. It’s correct in my photo library. Oh well... Got this reduced to £77 too. Couldnt resist at that price.

    Genesis Noir

I completed this last night too. Like you say the gameplay is pretty much non existent. Basically move the cursor or character around and press a button when the icon changes. But it is so artistically impressive, chilled out and easy going I just didn’t stop playing. I just zoned out and kept going. I did like some of the individual stories too, in particular the Japan one set in winter. I couldn’t really recommend it though. But if you have Game Pass I’d say it’s worth a download just to look at. Plus some people seem to really like it.

    Narita Boy

This games got styyyyle. 2D action adventure platformer. Got a sword and you slash bad guys apart while exploring a beautiful computerised world and piecing together memories of a creator. I really, really liked it. You get abilities throughout as usual and these let you return to previous sections to progress. It’s not a metroidvania though. A lot more linear than them. When returning to previous sections it’s within part of the area you’re in. If you ‘complete’ a area you usually can’t return and there’s no point in doing so either. The controls can be a bit funky at first. Your character is a bit slippery. But I got used to it pretty quickly and it doesn’t punish mistakes too harshly. It’s really basic at the start too, especially regarding combat. It’s a game that definitely improves as you progress. The extra abilities and enemies make it far more interesting later on. The main appeal of this isn’t the combat, platforming etc. Though. It’s just seeing the various environments. It’s such a stunning looking game, couldn’t wait to see what was in the next screen and I did genuinely enjoy the combat at the end. I particularly liked the boss battles. They were just good fun. The story is decent too for what’s there. It’s very wordy thoigh with a lot of jargon. You get the vibe of what’s going on though even if you don’t understand half what they say in this world. Recommended. High 7/10
  10. Zack Snyder Justice League Was decent enough. Had to watch it over 2 sittings though, just no need to be that long. A lot of pointless filler. Also the aspect ratio. I got used to it pretty quickly but what’s the point really? Just seems like it’s done purely for pretentious arsehole points. How can a film with a budget like this still have such poor special effects at times too? Some parts of it look absolutely terrible. I still enjoyed it though and it is a improvement over the original release.
  11. Uprising is great but I already own it. The rest. Meh. Thank fuck for Game Pass.
  12. Man I used to fucking love these!! I played them so many times, had the first couple of levels down with no deaths and basically getting triple shots/justice shots on all enemies. Crank that score up!
  13. I’m surprised people grind so much in it to start with. I did that tower about 3 times and that was it. & I mainly did that just to get all the items. Didn’t grind at all apart from that which I didn’t really count as a grind at all. A couple of the late battles were difficult but still managed them. The extra towers after completion though. Fuck them. They would have taken hours of grinding to beat.
  14. I’m not bothered by difficulty if the game is good. Like I say, difficulty isn’t the problem with this at all in my play time - apart from the tendency thing ruining world 4. Which I could have easily avoided if I’d have known before hand. Sekiro just seems more appealing to my tastes than this. We’ll see. Can always sell that on too if I don’t like it. Cheers ?
  15. Yea I understand Sekiro is meant to be Bastard hard but it appeals far more in every area so should hold my interest more. Plus it wasn’t the difficulty of this, it just got boring and I hated my character. Couple of podcasts I listen to have people who don’t like Souls games but love Sekiro and have tastes similar to mine so worth a go.
  16. Well I’m done with this. Since I last posted here I beat the Tower Knight boss but not got much interest in pressing on much more. Put in about 8-9 hours. Was ok and given it a good go but I’m just not really enjoying it enough to keep on with. Ive fucked up World 4, there’s now a red samurai enemy now at the beginning which one hit kills and takes no damage because I didn’t know about the world tendency thing. World 2 I just find completely dull, 5 the same and 3 is just awkward. Only seem to enjoy exploring the first one. Plus I think I really fucked up by picking the royal class. But it’s too late to start again now. This also led to anxiety over screwing up my stat points in a way I can’t ever remember feeling in a game before. Just felt I was doing it wrong all the time due to not wanting to spec magic but not committing enough to strength, health etc. Think I’ll give Sekiro a go next. May even buy it using the money from this. I like the sound of it just having 1 way to play after trying this.
  17. Ah fair enough. Sorry.
  18. You really should ignore your prejudice and play VII.
  19. One of the best gaming series’ out there. 5 & 6 are terrible but every other mainline entry I I’ve absolutely loved. Easy and obvious for my favourite, REmake 1. Not only is it the best Resi, it’s one of the best games ever. It’s near enough perfect at what it’s doing. Original 2, 4 and VII are all outstanding too. But REmake is the absolute pinnacle.
  20. Ancient Gods Part 2 done. That was fantastic, better than the first part by quite a bit. It’s like they listened to my complaints. This was nowhere near as difficult, the bullshit bosses are gone and the new enemies they introduced this time aren’t as bullshit annoying. The 2nd level of part 1 was also a bit poor, all 3 in this are great and look incredible still. The 3rd level pulls off Visually impressive and exciting stuff. The new hammer weapon is a great addition in my opinion. It can stun groups of enemies - including Marauders - which is really helpful, gives ammo and if you burn the enemies or freeze them first you get lots of extra armour or health depending on which you did. It’s also added to the traversal, there’s green orbs floating in the air which you can hook shot and sling off, using these in combat is great fun. If anything they’re under utilised, I would have liked more of them. They’ve added respawning ammo to platforming sections too so if you’re not very good at them and cock up certain sections youre not necessarily worse off health wise. There’s no platforming puzzle rooms like in part 1 though which I personally loved and miss but I know Im in minority on that so whatever. Can’t fault this DLC at all really. Highly recommended. Spoilery screens from level 3.

Preferred it much more than Part 1. 28/03/21 - Superhot (XSX) - Complete Enjoyed that. Good Sunday afternoon game to blast through. Story goes some interesting places too. I do think it’s massively overrated though. But maybe that’s because I’ve heard and seen a lot about it over the years. I’d have probably been a lot more impressed if I played it at release. Either way still a good game. 7/10
  22. Wow!! Almost bought Art of Rally a couple of times glad I didn’t now.
  23. Very happy to see Remake so high in that list. OG VII is too low though. Whereas IX and XV are waaaaaay too high. Not played XII because the combat system really doesn’t appeal from what I’ve heard so can’t really comment on that being at the top.
  24. Shitinghell. How did I forget that? Excellent shot, unbelievably good opening. Closest I’d come to ever shedding a tear from a game. Until Part 2 funnily enough.
  25. God of War 3 Mass Effect 2 Onimusha 3 (CGI cut scene) Uncharted 2 Ones off the top of my head that were amazing. Half Life 1 stands out too just because it was the first game I ever played which did a cinematic gameplay opening.
