    Nintendo News

I'm curious to play it as I missed the sequel completely, back in the day.
  3. Spider-man vs. the Sinister Six by Julian Totino Tedesco @Maf Thought you'd like this one!
  4. I think that is the secondary reason for choosing SR over Blood Omen 1. The primary reason being the popularity of the Raziel-led part of the series. But SR is mechanically modern enough that a fresh coat of paint and some QoL updates to swimming etc would still result in a playable game. Blood Omen, in contrast, needs a 'from the ground up' overhaul. But, imo without Amy Hennig there is no value or merit to rebooting Legacy of Kain. To be blunt, the talent isn't there today. The visual identity, the writing, the voice acting. There isn't anything like this series today. It was lightning in a bottle and a remaster is realistically the best this era could do for LoK.

Daima looks interesting. It's about time they actually explored the Demon Realm in DB. Uzumaki though, looks amazing. Can't wait for that one!
  6. I would get it just for Power Stone alone.

    The Hot Topic Returns

Streamlined a lot of my stuff lately. But historically, I'd say Zelda or FF are the series I've owned the most games in. Some series, like Suikoden have had mobile entries that I never bother with. Aside from Spirit Tracks and Link Between Worlds, I've owned all the mainline Zelda titles since the first. Starting with FF7, I have retroactively gone back (and then forward) and bought all the mainline FF titles too (aside from FF16). Barring spin-offs and sequels I again don't really bother with.
  8. Much like how everything FF9 is referencing or pay homage to will be utterly lost on you, if you've never touched FF1-6.
  9. FF8 is basically the template for the series moving forward. It has more in common with 10-16 than FF7 or 9. It arguably has the best card mini game in the series too.
  10. 🤢..Then again. I only ever played vanilla FF12 and I'm told the Zodiac Age is different? So I might play the third best PSOne FF, as it is technically shorter?
  11. So I've been watching a few FF videos on YouTube of late. It's actually given me the itch to play FF12 again. Might start that up in a week or two. If anyone wants to join in?

  13. For the record, it's the ending to (Loki) Season 2 that sells it. If you didn't make it that far, objectively you wouldn't get it. I've read elsewhere people decrying that Kang is boring (and generic) to watch. That's because Kang is boring, full stop. Hopefully Secret Wars will be the original one, which will better explain multiversal characters being folded into the MCU. The Hickman Secret Wars is too steeped in Fantastic Four lore to make sense within the framework of a mostly FF-absent MCU.

  15. I think Loki was the only real successful narrative when it came to the execution of the Multiverse concept. Spider-Verse is in it's own little bubble and Dr Strange 2 didn't push the multiverse angle as far as it could/should have. No Way Home was the real issue. Because the concept should be more high concept than just a means for marketing cameos.
  16. There's no way in hell they will make him keep the mask on. So there is no point in RDJ being Dr. Doom at all.

    The Hot Topic Returns

Open World crafting - It's padding that doesn't need to be in every open world game. Weapon degradation - The Souls series (especially Dark 2) and LoZ: BoTW/ToTK are the most high profile, modern exponents of this. To me, there is no positive to it whatsoever. Boss repetition - Elden Ring (and other late game "boss rushes/gauntlets"). I imagine the pitch sounds like this: It's never fun, imo.
