Really cool trailer (although the base game looked better in trailers than it turned out to be too).

June 21st is a decent release date. Hopefully I’ll have finished at least BG3 by then!

I'll probably end up buying this... and then immediately hate myself for it.

This is probably the first year in a long time where the first six months all have something I'm looking forward to.

The price and time it took to release suggests this will be a fairly consequential expansion, rather than a 'DLC'.

Souls DLC has generally been quite short, so wonder if this is more like a psuedo-sequel. Similar to something like Armored Core 3: Silent Line.

Haha! I’m definitely going to stop myself this time. Helps I sold Elden Ring so the cost of entry is a lot higher.

New enemy designs look fantastic, would love to fight them just a shame they’re not in a game I actually enjoy.

After thinking about getting the expansion I don't reckon I'll bother... it's been ages since I even booted the game and to be quite honest I can do without the stress.

Same. I have zero interest in returning to ER myself. I might watch it on YouTube. But I recall just not enjoying it by the end. That doesn't incentivise a new playthrough.

I really like the lore of the world but I found Elden Ring sort of a bad video game. Just found no satisfaction in its mechanics or progression, hated how hard the boss fights were if you didn't use mist summons and hated how boringly easy there were with them.

People are looking at this trailer and comparing a lot of it to Golden Age Berserk, with this band of warriors trying to rescue Miquella. Wonder how that'll end for them, really well I bet.

Reviews are out, now that polygon got fucked up by vulture capitalists I'm running out of outlets that I actually like to read, so here's Eurogamer.

I’ll give them their props for trying something different and being experimental, and at discount price. But from what I’ve seen of the network tests/betas, it looks kind of 7/10

The guardian writeup mentions lengthy boss runbacks, roguelike elements, and then you have that combined with the frustration of online randos. This would be my kryptonite, saving that money for Death Stranding 2 for sure
