I don't know how, but I've only spent £60 this year so far and I have a £21 giftcard too. I have bought more than £60s worth of stuff, but I did a huge trade in earlier in the year and that covered loads of my games. Getting discounts helps, and I shop around more than I used to.

Tracking my spending is definately making me more concious of what I'm buying and if it's worth the cost. I'm not as interested in getting things on day one anymore, I can wait until it drops in price. Never would have done that two years ago, I used to spend way too much on games and other stuff

I dread to think what I'm up to now. I had been doing reletively well in terms of not buying loads of games, but at the same time I've been happy to buy download stuff just because, and I've bought a few games recently because they've been cheap (Silent Hill, Red Steel 2, Far Cry 1&2)

So far ive spent zero this year! although its mainly due to work messing up my pay! i will be buying something next week for a tenner!

Ok an update, ive brought:

GTA, Doodlejump and Worms - Iphone, cost approx £9

Spent £55 this year!

Also i now have £70 in credit at HMV so im £15 up!! but i will be using that gift card today hopefully.

I really need to keep it tight this year as im struggling with no OT and my biking is taking all my funds!

If we exclude the two systems I've purchased (DSi XL and PS3 250GB) which were mostly funded by credit anyway, I've spent £425. I've also sold games to nearly the same value though, which is a bonus. Here's April and May spends, as I forgot to update last month.

June will see Super Mario Galaxy being bought, which I have preordered for £29.99, and probably another game or two, depending on if there's any tasty price drops.
