yeah there are 10 endurance races, i've not done any yet, not done any drag races yet either. that's impressive! there's 220 events i haven't done any for about a week but still been playing loads, there's so much to do. i did the same as Jimbo too, bought a TVR then won the exact same car soon after.

apart from setting off you probably won't notice much difference turning traction control off on the slower cars. makes a big difference on some of the faster cars though, i usually just leave it on all the time as i forget to turn it on/off when needed, same for ABS played this loads last night, spent ages in the store front getting all the free paint jobs i could and buying loads of rally car ones, i probably don't even have the right cars to use most of them. then did loads of timetrials including some of the built in ones, the laguna seca and suzuka ones were great fun

downloaded waypoint too, don't know about the stats stuff but i did unlock some avatar stuff, the guilty spark type thing that flys roung your avatar is pretty cool, the other stuff not so much.

nah, good look though! probably have enough games to keep me entertained till next xmas, but just can't resist new stuff, definitely getting MW2, Mushihimesama Futari, zelda and lego rock band and might get l4d2 and mario too, unclear.

oooh nice embedding work Ben. i did try that on the clan site but it cut the pic in half so i must have been doing it wrong or something i think it looks nice unlucky with the internet Riva. we had some more games tonight and were having lag problems, people getting booted and my controller decided to disconnect in the middle of a race

yeah that's a good tip, oddly i don't feel like doing it though as there's no danger of failing, when it gets hectic i just miss averything and get a crap score. thoes bits are a bit like the solos in GH/RB, but in thoes it's sometimes essential to avoid failing. in addition to the above problems loosing the combo, which is probably just me not knowing what to do or not being fast enough, last night i was loosing it in the middle of a scratch where i'm sure i wasn't doing anything wrong, it happened quite a lot, might have been pressing too hard on the turntable, or maybe it's broke, unclear

i should be up for some racing tomorrow, just whack me an invite or something if i'm on, and the laughing man is from ghost in the shell, the first series Cool car Ed, good plan with the minimalism, i think that's where i usually go wrong with ott garish colours and shapes and stuff.

yeah i have it on my lap sat on an office type chair, it's fine. agree about the dificulty getting a bit boring later on on normal, i started again on hard and it's brilliant, i'm enjoying it a lot more. although i did accidently try some of the later songs on hard and my brain nearly exploded. sometimes i'm dropping my combo and i'm not sure why, could be my technique on the scratches, i might be pressing the button too early just because you can on the guitar games, unclear. also the directional scratches with an empty gap - i'm guessing if you move the turntable too much there it breaks the combo?

been doing some more painting tonight, working on a laughing man logo, and it actually looks ok, no words yet though, i'll post a pic when i'm finished

porsche's do usually handle crap but the one you win in this (i assume i won it) is pretty good had a mess about painting stuff just now, it's good fun but i'm useless at it just like in forza 2.

this week i have been mostly playing Forza 3, it's great, i was expecting it to be great and annoying and boring in equal measure but it's actually just great (so far anyway, i've probably played 30+ hours), forza 2 single player was boring, this i'm not finding boring at all, i'm treating it as doing hot laps though and ignoring the AI drivers as they're on normal (there's still a lot of time left for it to get boring though, it's definitely too long, 220 events, each with multiple races, apart from maybe the endurance ones). forza 2 was annoying as the stock cars were setup to handle like crap, now they handle well, which improves online play and single player racing just because they are more fun to drive. it works great with the wheel too, using the wheel seemed a bit of a disadvantage in forza 2, it doesn't anymore. i've barely touched the other parts of the game like timetrials (which will be great), painting or tuning. have bought some nice paint jobs though, got ikaruga, jet set radio, ketsui, wiivo's (okami?) one and some random others been playing some DJ Hero too, which is also great, it's hard to describe, you press/twiddle stuff as instructed on screen in time to the music - it's just a good rhythm action game, i can't see why anyone who really likes rhythm action games wouldn't like this, apart from the price and/or the music. i'm not really into music like this but i think it mostly works really well in the game. and any game where you can push a button to shout such cool phrases as "Yeah Boyee" or "Lets get it on" must be good (as also proved by frequency).

been playing this most of the day, its good, great fun on medium to start with, getting slightly less exciting on medium now, although it still throws some stuff in there that messes me up, and the song list is so massive i'm still no where near the end, tried hard and it's too difficult where i'm up to (you can't fail but i was missing practically everything and getting 2 stars) so i probably need to try starting from the begining on hard and see how that goes (actually did the first few songs on hard and they are quite easy, so hopefully there is a good difficulty curve till they get harder later on). great presentation, apart from the dj's as they mostly look stupid. enjoying most of the songs/mixes too, although there have been some rubbish ones. no problems with the controller, like illdog says its tricky to find the centre of the slider, sure will get used to it though and you don't have to be completely accurate as long as it's in the middle area. also keep getting confused with the buttons as they move in/out with the lanes so i press the wrong one often. edit, been playing this some more and still liking it so that's good

nice one, think i'll buy one when i get home not sure what's going on with the online racing on here, sounds like it might turn into a timetrial so i don't want to step on anyones toes but i've just setup a timetrial thread on our clan site, if anyone is interested in taking part i can post the info here too

i really want one of thoes, did you win it or buy it? there's loads of cars i want but the pricing is a bit silly on some of them, the stock mclaren f1 is over 3 million iirc, and there's other cars over 11 million, i've only just got 3 after ~14 hours race time

the mitsubishi hks time attack evo is awesome for it, can probably be made more awesome for it with tuning/parts nice one, thanks i found another one today too, the top secret toyota also seems to be setup for drifting.

i dodn't know you could turn it off, thanks for the tip! i've been playing with the difficulty on normal, really enjoying it just doing time trials ahead of the other cars. i'm level 39 but only ~12% done (~12 hours track time iirc, that includes a bit of multiplayer too) i'll be taking a break from single player when i hit 50, really looking forward to trying some drifting. anyone got any good tips/setups for drifting? i haven't a clue really, but the australian V8's seem ok for it? like a few other people it sounds like, i've been trying to use manual gears for the first time, i'm getting on ok, and it's definitely faster for timetrials, but in normal racing i've been making so many mistakes because of it

watched question time too, as usual i'm highly sceptical of anything politicians say, the man (labour?) and the woman (conservative?) on the right were typically never admitting anything so you never really know who to believe, and they had to go after each other (especially the woman) when maybe they should have been against the bnp guy more, i don't know much about politics though. it was interesting anyway and i always knew the bnp were bad, but wasn't sure why, now i know.

tried this online today and it all seems to work fine, i just got really annoyed because i was rubbish. still think it plays a bit like gears of war with all the rolling and taking cover and stuff. most enjoyable was the coop mission but we failed it miserably
