I’m torn on the RDJ stuff because narratively it’s a really strong idea but business wise it’s a really bankrupt idea Even though I watched both versions of Justice League I didn’t like either and I never saw the Aqua Man films so I’m fine with this casting.

No, Lobo is a barbaric, mercenary type from outer space with Wolverine style healing factor and gets his kicks from money and murder (mostly murder) But he’s a “wild man” type character that I think would fit Momoa better In terms of the story, the bad guy in the Supergirl comic was a ruthless space pirate who I can’t remember the name of. Lobo could easily fill that role and is an actual character, so would make sense to swap him in

On a scale of 1-10 how good is restaurant jazz in Fires of Rubicon
-
Yeah, I can see that. This game might just be catching me at the right time and it’s very different to anything else I’ve played lately. I also don’t necessarily think the car museum is interesting, I just skipped through some to have a look. But I do think it has a very weird style to it which I kinda dig. Like the opening video I posted, it’s pretentious to the point of silly. Like the game’s “main campaign” is basically a mission mode where you go to a car cafe and some picture of a guy called Luca gives you a restaurant style menu to some jazz background music and politely tells you what to do next to complete the menu. Then some other picture of I guess famous car people turn up and go “is that your Renault? I made that by the way let me tell you a paragraph about it” It’s so weird. But I dig weird. The actual racing is showing some cracks for me already. As said earlier the AI is very static (but I’m only playing on medium difficulty so I dunno what happens if adjusted, also when looking at stuff on YT they might have added a new AI thing called Sophy? I dunno yet), the game seems to already be running out of tracks, and I know what you mean by the cars don’t actually turn, the camera is so fixed to the back end of the car, I think it’s why I find cornering hard. In the replays, though, it looks very nice Another thing which is holding my interest is having to actually learn the game. It’s been ages since I’ve played a racing game that has no rewind button and the 50% cash penalty for clean racing is making me not play it like bumper cars like I usually do. The game is already making me accept some corners just can’t be taken at 60mph. Which goes against everything in me but it is working out better I’m having a great time with it so far. This game is nice
-
Actually, yes. I realised that playing tonight. The other cars sort of avoid each other, slightly. But it makes no difference what I’m doing they all just stick to their line Makes getting the clean race bonus sometimes hard (but always worth getting as it’s 50% extra cash)
-
No, but Teresa May in the game. Close enough?

Maybe it’s been a while since I played a racing game and know nothing about GT, but this game seems phenomenal? Not educated enough to say but it seems brilliant to me. Also very weird. There’s a show room where you can look at cars, get linked to their real life YT channel to watch adverts, and for some companies they also have a slide show of their history. For Nissan the have like the entire history of the company in slide show form. Even showing the boat they use to ship cars around the world? It’s so unnecessarily in depth But tucked away in then Asia cars section there’s a slide show called “Sony AI”. I thought what’s that? And it’s just a slide show showing notable historic events since 2013 including Trump winning the presidency in 2016, Covid vaccine rollouts in 2021, and of course, the release of the PS5 in 2020 lol. WHY IS IT HERE Looking at the brands and how many race tracks there are, am I right in thinking that they just don’t have as much stuff as Forza? Is that what separates these games is Forza just has more tracks and cars? I really like this game, though. It’s just got so much style and cool music choices.

I’m telling you I was born 25~ years to early. Every thing I liked as a kid is cool now

This is how I want to play fighting games I wish I knew how

Makes sense for both him and the movie. This DCU might be getting exciting

I don’t think my PC is broken because none of the problems are consistent. Not like at first where every time I turn the power on it was barely hitting 50% performance on every game. But I think I documented that enough at the time..

😮💨 £15 for Tetris Effect and it’s Steam Deck verified maybe one more game it’s not 2025 yet https://store.steampowered.com/app/1003590/Tetris_Effect_Connected/

Another cool looking game free on Epic. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/pc-redacted-free-to-keep-4499174 [Redacted] - literally the name. It’s a top down shooter/rogue-lite, if I remember right. I almost bought it on something the other day. Glad I didn’t now, will download later

This is so cool. I think sometimes it pays to draw Superman really small because it emphasises how big the things he does are

For me v-sync on Idiana is just greyed out. Doesn’t matter what options I select in game, it doesn’t let me toggle. Which I could try the CP, but in game options not even working is something I find frequently and it’s like sigh, to google, then I saw other people have the problem so I don’t think it’s just me. I didn’t find a solution, though Not to annoy @Nag further but to just say, I do actually like gaming on PC. When it works the results are amazing and there is something satisfactory about fixing problems But let’s not act like they’re not problems and I can go weeks at a time without turning my PC on because I just look at it, no I’m not in the mood for it There’s something really nice about just collapsing on the sofa, hitting the home button and away we go (instal time, not withstanding) Or even better lying in bed at night cozying up to Switch and Dragon Quest 3 Tecnhically not on my current top 10 of 2024 and DQ3 has absolutely been one of the greatest gaming highlights of the year. As was Paper Mario TTYD, and currently not as good, but still liking Mario & Luigi Brothership which actually speaking of stutter that game has which really brings down it’s excellent art style Switch is evergreen good times imo and a highlight of every year since I got the OLED model It also works with minimal fuss even compared to the other consoles which is nice There you go @Nag, doing my best to drag it back over here

2 days ago I tried playing Suicide Squad on PC it was plagued by stutter and could barely hit 60fps. I put up with it for an hour and uninstalled I remember first time I tried Elden Ring on PC it kept turning my monitor off. I left it for a month, came back to it, didn’t change a single thing and it worked fine ”fine” for ER on PC anyway Even playing Indiana Jones on PC for some reason the V-Sync option is unavailable so it has constant screen tearing. I could probably try the Nvidia control panel and force it But this is the point of reliability. Nearly every single PC game I play has a one problem or another. There’s something easier about console games that, even if it does have a technical issue, you know everyone is having it so it’s kind of shrug it off. But on PC, it’s annoying to be like, ok, what is wrong with mine These are not the worst problems in the world but I think the PC fanboys on here gloss over the constant fiddling basically all games need. If you’re up for it then great, but like Suicide Squad the other day, I couldn’t be assed at all to even Google it or look at the Steam forum Granted that game is dog shit which explains some of my lack of effort, but also there’s that repetitive “oh, PC, here we go again”
-
And I’m not bagging on your choice or PC’s in general. I spent most of my gaming time on PC last year. But it’s the consoles are shite bit which is some bullshit. It’s not saying they’re perfect or even better, but if you want simple, reliable, easy and still good value for money. They’re definitely not shite EDIT: Err, PS5 Pro + disc drive not withstanding for vfm
-
I think the first problem with PC is the first step Go on then. Go buy your PC https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=Gaming+pc&crid=29I7DB2SKK6Y5&sprefix=gaming+pc%2Caps%2C95&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 Hope you like PC gaming on your TV and don’t need a monitor as well You can do what I did and throw money at it and skip this part of the process. And still end up with the not best CPU and having to send it back because it was broken. But it’s not recommended I just have fuck all else to do

Played some more of this and had to turn PSSR off. At first I thought this game had really unfortunate pop-in on distant shadows and the dots on the driving line but it turns out PSSR just doesn’t handle these things very well. Turn it off and all cleaned up, looking perfect. Not sure why it defaults to on. Probably because it’s a 1st party game Visually the only gripe is RT. I just checked DF and they say this game has the best RT in any racing game and it looks very nice in the races. But I think I’ve been spoiled by PC games that do full RT because when viewing cars in “cutscenes” and certain menus the reflections are a little fuzzy. Overall, though the game looks superb. This not a complaint, just observation

Firstly an Xbox can run Psychonauts at 4K60 and secondly if that’s all you wanted to do you should have saved a few £100’s and got a Steam Deck which is basically a console PC gaming is great and has lots of benefits and advantages but if you want to play modern games at good cost, don’t want to mess around with settings, want to play games made on UE5 and like sitting on your sofa PlayStation/Xbox has your back 👍

Ok, maybe it doesn’t sound that much like Wave Race after checking but it is a nice, old school video game jam after 50mins of I FUCKING HATE YOU WHY WON’T YOU TURN! TURN YOU BASTARD!

I played Dragon Age on Xbox Spent 3 hours on this game, however, most of which was getting all golds on the B license. Holy shit. There’s 10 challenges called “DRIVING BASICS” which I shouted aloud a few times over the hours 7 of them only took a handful of tries so not that bad. But tests 3, 8 and 10 is where I spent the majority of the time muthafucka It sounds dumb but it’s just braking before corners I’m really bad at. It’s a mixture of working out when to let go of the brakes, then brake and work out how hard, and try to get the right angle to accelerate out of the corner. And the thing is I get silver quite easy and gold is like, 0.5 of a second away. And every new PB is less than 0.5 seconds and I’m sitting there like DRIVING BASICS HOW CAN I SQUEEZE ANYMORE OUT OF and then on a random go I just shoot out of a corner much faster than my previous ghost and get it and am just befuddled. Like the fuck was all that, just for that, and I didn’t even learn what Looking at the fucking shadows and lamp posts like, right; let go of accelerate here but brake when just pass there oi vey But actually this game seems like a masterpiece. It’s so fucking cool. I love how jazzy it is and there’s a little cafe and they tell you about car history and it’s really cool Also the gold victory noise sounds a bit like Wave Race so that makes me happy I’ve avoided GT since the PS2 and played Forza instead, mainly because Forza didn’t have license challenges. But over the years Forza got really dry and boring. It’s why Forza Horizon was so fresh it was like ah personality But actually GT7 has personality in spades and I really like it. I heard this game had a bit of a money grind problem but hopefully they rebalanced it since then. This game is sick! The only thing I worry about is getting burn in on my OLED if I get stuck for hours again on one 20 second challenge (because of all the UI and stuff) The UI doesn’t appear to be HDR is good but still might need to explore any opacity settings and turn them down This game is great, though. My mum bought it for Christmas so coincidence but has nothing to do with the PS5 Pro. But glad I got it, it’s really cool so far
