MK11 is mint ?

I had the opposite reaction. I think this year has been brill. 3 genuine GoTY contenders for me and 2 games I have interest in but haven’t played yet - Ghosts (waiting until I get a PS5) and Hades (waiting for a big boy console release). VII Remake is the one I’d go for. I actually had it as Last of Us 2 for the longest time but lately I’m finding myself looking back at VII as better. I’d be happy with either or Doom Eternal winning. Will no doubt be Animal Crossing though which I have zero interest in & bounced off in a big way when I tried my partners copy unfortunately.

Wow, and you like the new Assassins Creed games so it must be terrible

That’s pretty cool. The Square is front of the MS office too. Haha brill.

Im nowhere near good enough. Ah well. 8/10

20 hours? I was near the end by then lol. I detested the open world bit, felt so pointless. Fast loads may have helped though. I reckon that’ll really help with a lot more irritating parts of games in future. I’m basically buying a Series X early for it.
-
Awesome @Manicm! Dont suppose he can get you another for me can he ?
-
No worries. I’ve played a bit more since and got 2 of the Hollow abilities and weapons now. Liking the way it gives you extra abilities like a Metroid game & so far has naturally been taking me back to areas where I need them rather than just trying to remember where to go. Enjoying it more as I go on, really surprised by it. Combat is properly enjoyable. Decided to buy it since it’s leaving tomorrow and I want to play it through now. Speaking of which. Just been reminded why I would never get a all digital console. £45 on Xbox store!! That’s even with the game pass discount. Bought it brand new for £10 on eBay. Ridiculous.
-
@DisturbedSwanbit late but did you put more time into this? &what did you end up thinking about it? Its leaving Game Pass soon so thought I’d give it a go. I’m quite enjoying it so far, only played about a hour or so but seems good but unremarkable. Don’t know whether it’s worth sticking with and possibly buying before it leaves Game Pass or pick up a cheap physical copy. The load times when you die are a motherfucker too. May have to wait till I get a Series X if I die more often just because it takes so long.

Amazing car!

Sly’s right about both. The Xbox UI is terrible. It’s my primary console so I’ve gotten used to it & the One X helped since it increased the speed significantly but it’s still bad. As for games not starting too - “this game took too long to start”. Oh how I love that stupid fucking error. I’ve never had so much trouble playing games as I have on my One(s). Game Pass and the legacy stuff is so fucking good I’m willing to forgive it though. If we’re talking about more specific buyers remorse and purchasing regrets then I’m going to go for every Nintendo console since the GameCube. I’ve not enjoyed using any of their controllers since which massively alters how much I enjoy playing games on them. I just don’t enjoy their games anywhere near as much as anyone else either. But I always buy into the hype whenever another comes around. Always thinking this will be the one where I “get it”. Not happened yet.

Get it the odd times. Mainly from a cost perspective, I can order a game/console/accessory and immediately feel terrible about doing it just because of the money involved. I’ve cancelled orders in the past due to it. Don’t normally get it from a disappointment point of view as I still buy my games physical so can sell them on if I don’t like them. I have cocked up and took a chance on a digital version at times - most recently NFS Heat. I definitely had buyers remorse from that since it’s shit and I couldn’t sell it back on. But very rare I do that.
-
I always have my consoles And streaming stuff plugged direct. It’s noticeably better. Some things like remote play it even recommends you plug it in. Very strange problem. These consoles weren’t ready really were they? Sure after a month or 2 they’ll be fine though.
-
Yea I played the royal edition with the character swap ability. Combat is still shit, barely improves it. I did enjoy doing the big guys (forgot his name) combat when solo in the DLC. Doesn’t really work well at all in the battles during the main game though as it’s more one on one based.

On Xbox Game Pass now so have it a go. It’s pretty damn great. Amazing what good presentation, music and having ‘levels’ with progress, varying speed and a goal can make. I’m not a big fan of Tetris at all. I might even say it’s the most over rated game of all time - or maybe it’s just not for me ?. But this I am really really enjoying so far for those reasons stated. The visuals are incredible and the way the sound and music works with the gameplay feels amazing. 95% of the time. There’s the odd miss as to be expected but I'm astounded how well it works most of the time. I bet this was breathtaking in VR. The progression is making all the difference to me too. I’ve never liked playing Tetris just for the Hell of it but the pull of seeing what the next tile set brings had me replaying a particular tough (for me) level for longer than I’ve ever played Tetris in a single sitting before. I still don’t see me spending weeks on it and still can’t ever see it placing on my game if the year like it did for some when it was released but it’s got a big thumbs up from me. If you don’t like Tetris like me I strongly recommend giving this one a go as this one has that extra special something the others have never had for me before.
-
Gave it a bit more of a go, unfortunately it’s just not doing anything for me at all. Got zero interest in any of the characters and dialogue. Found myself starting to want to skip bits of the text which goes completely against what this game is. So decided to call it quits. Shame as I was quite excited about playing it at first.
-
Great to hear regarding this. Quick couple of questions since I’ll no doubt be playing that most when I get a Series X. My main pain with that game is the loading to the point it prevents me playing more sometimes. So how’s it handle fast travel? Is it instant now? Same with changing cars while in the world map, is that near enough instant? They’re fast on the One X but still take just long enough to annoy. A big one for me personally too is when you press ‘up’ to go into photo mode to do those challenges does it still take a short while to load the mode and then another while to get back into the game? That part is really annoying on the One version. If all those things are near instant it will genuinely make me enjoy the game more.

Haven’t got one yet but hoping to before year end. Stock permitting. Mine will definitely be Forza Horizon 4 first. Probably followed by Motorsport 7.

Awesome @Nag!! Enjoy mate. ?

Surprised there’s not been many, if any, Dreamcast ones. But I do know the Saturn is a absolute pig to emulate. Similar to the PS3 (but even moreso) it’s got such a unique architecture and chipset it’s difficult to emulate. That’s why you don’t see Saturn collections. I think PC’s have only just reached the point where they can do it and even then it’s not 100% and you need a relatively powerful one. Ive seen some modded Saturns where they replace the disc drive with a SD card. I’m really, really tempted by one of those. Cheapest I’ve seen is £450 though and not sure if that has all the import games on it I want. Plus at that price I’d be buying it instead of a next gen console. Genuinely considering it now though. ?

Went looking at Saturn’s after this post on Ebay. Holy shit! I had no idea how much stuff had gone up by. The console and games are ridiculously expensive now. Always odd games which were pricey - I had some like Radiant Silvergun (sold for £90) and Panzer Saga (sold for £120) - but they’re in another league now
