Ys (like 'fleece') is an action RPG series Japan that not many people know about which is crazy considering the first game game out in 1989. With it being a lesser known series I didn't think it was worth making threads for the games on a game-by-game basis, but there are two new titles coming to PS4 this year (one is a remake, one is a brand new game) and I just wanted somewhere to talking about them ? I've played 4 or 5 of them and am currently playing through Ys Origin on the PS4 at the moment, and I know a couple of the guys here are fans of the series so I thought it would be nice to talk Ys with other fans and maybe introduce the series to a few of you whi aren't familiar. And with the sudden interest in JRPG's on the site now seems like a good time to do it.

I've never played a Paper Mario game so might give this one a go. Was surprised how dark the tone was at the beginning ?

The difference between a gameplay demo and tech demo falls to developer intent. If the demo was made to specifically show off a new game, i.e. mechanics, characters, world, then it is a gameplay demo. However, if it was made to show off the specifics of an engine, it's a tech demo. This was the latter; "This demo previews two of the new core technologies that will debut in Unreal Engine 5" Even Epic are going out of their way to call it a real-time demo. Blakey's logic is like saying the T-Rex tech demo from the original PS1 demo disc is a game because you can make the T-Rex open it's mouth. It is not a game, it's a tech demo, there is a difference between the two.

Vicarious Visions are developing it so I'm sure it will be just as good as their Crash remasters. Can't be any worse than the last 16 games anyway.

@mfnick Thanks man, I appreciate that. Funnily enough I played through the first SoR last night. Played it on the Mega Drive Collection and used the rewind button A LOT so I need to play through it properly, then I'll move in to 2. Am toying with the ideo of reviewing the trilogy in a video later down the line.

Couldn't give two fucks about Far Cry if I'm honest. Ah well, looks like another year without having to buy a Ubisoft game.

I wonder what we're more likely to see, AC: Valhalla gameplay or a new Splinter Cell.

Weird ? Hopefully they'll patch the issue. I'd love to play online without issues.

29/60 I checked the answers and I haven't played most of the ones I got wrong so I don't feel too bad about my bad score.

Played online last night and it was baaaaad. There was so much lag it was crazy and we ended up getting passed certain areas by the skin of our teeth. I tried playing online the night before too, but it wouldn't let me connect to anyone. Has anyone else experienced this or was it just me?

Knack

The symbiote was always hungry, but trying to say he had "a love for good food" is a stretch - he eats rotten chicken out of a bin.

Pretty sure he just roars in his death throws and the ceiling collapses on him finishing him (and you if you're not careful).

That would be purely circumstantial though.

I bought Final Fantasy Type-0 ? 'Hidden Gems' sale is crap. It's the same shite no one buys in all the other sales thrown together.
