  1. I have a goodies code for Bioshock Inifinite from the Industrial Revolution game they put out. Not sure what it will actually unlock in-game but it looks like some extra cash and a few pieces of gear. Xbox 360 version. 2QW3J-VPXTK-PGK9G-KDPQ3-KXYPZ I'll just leave it here, whoever wants it can redeem it. If you do, would you kindly pop a note below to say it's been taken
  2. Lovely shots, from both games DM. The shot of Psycho is excellent. That game's character models are insanely detailed. I'm being good for once. As I'm only at work tomorrow and have the rest of the week off, I'm waiting to play Infinite so I don't stay up until the wee hours playing it. By the looks of things I'll definitely be taking more screenshots than I know what to do with when I finally do start playing.

    Warframe

http://store.steampowered.com/app/230410/ This is being released on Steam at some point this evening. They've made a heck of a lot of improvements to it over the last few months. There's now loads more map variations and enemy types to fight your way through. It's still a lot of fun in co-op and a stiff challenge in single player. Glad it's getting a wider release now, should bring a good number of new players into the fold.
  4. I was wondering the same but GRRM said in a recent interview that books 4 and 5 will be joined and re-edited for the TV show. Won't be an easy job at all and the potential for a Wall sized fuck up is huge. He was also saying in the same interview that there are some characters who had died early on in the books but had so far survived in the TV show. Haven't looked into who specifically but I wonder on the ramifications of something like that. He had also been speaking to cast members who had asked him not to kill off their characters, but they were already dead in the books. Awkward!
  5. Okami HD as well! Some great games coming up on the service this month.
  6. Love the art style they've gone for, hopefully that will also be used in the game. The premise sounds great, looking forward to seeing more.

    Bioshock Infinite

PC version for me also, although I have both coming. Will probably sell or trade the 360 version at some point. I tend to give the mouse/keyboard a go at first in most PC games, but usually end up going with the pad as it allows me to sit back and relax rather than be sat up straight for hours on end. I really like that most games now switch between each control method on-the-fly,I would be very surprised if this doesn't also do the same thing.
  8. Routine. You had me at space and horror. Voted.
  9. Maybe. Probably. Or we could actually have a little discussion about it... sounds like the full stop has already been typed on this though.
  10. This was excellent DM. Thank you. I know what you mean about the gut-punches in there, reading through some of the paragraphs gave me knots. Aside from the girlfriend stuff, alot of the path through was very close to home; The job, the constant questions from friends and family, the social anxiety. All very poignant. I love that the things everyone tells you to do to "cheer up" are scored out in red, as if you know what you should be doing but something is preventing you from actually doing it. This was all a few years ago now though and after a brief spate of medication and my boss at work resigning (which was one of the main factors for me), along with some more responsibility at work because of the resignation, everything is going okay for the most part. There's still the bouts of insomnia and resulting difficulty getting out of bed to deal with but I can look back and reflect on that period now. The game is right though: It never leaves you and can be so so easy to slip back into a funk without realising.
  11. I've only ever voted for a couple of games, couldn't tell you which ones though as it was a while back. I Only tend to vote if I happen to read an article that mentions it. I'm not going to sit and trawl through everything on there in the hopes of finding something that looks good. Would there actually be any issue with just opening it up like XBL Indie Games? High grossing games could get released onto big boy Steam once they hit a certain threshold. Would make a lot more sense to me.
  12. Phew! I could feel my wallet getting lighter as I opened the thread, but I already own most of these on one format or another. Cheers Ed.
  13. Not really sure what GRRM intends to do with the fantasy stuff as it's been relatively minor up to book 5. It's always there in the background but it sometimes breaks through front and center when focusing on certain parts of the story. It feels as though sometimes he decides to go full blown fantasy but then changes his mind and reverts back to normal again. Can be a little jarring when the books are jumping between lots of characters in quick succession.
  14. Looks good Hinn! Will give you a like as soon as I'm somewhere can actually log in.
  15. If it's what I think you're talking about I wouldn't worry. It's only a relatively minor part of everything going on, at least for now anyway.

    In the Mail

GAME emailed the dispatch notice for my Bioshock Infinite Songbird Edition yesterday. I was getting worried that they would pull one of their usual stunts and start cancelling pre-orders so I'm glad it's actually on it's way. The PC version dispatched from ShopTo also.
  17. I'll always hold the 16-bit era dear to my heart. There's just something about the pixel art from that generation that has something special the 8-bit consoles didn't quite manage. There are exceptions of course, SMB3 is the obvious one, but overall, whether it was the colour palettes or whatever, developers really found their edge during the 16-bit era. In modern games I'm a complete sucker for some nice light shafts and some subtle depth of field effects. Tomb Raider nailed both of these things. Sometimes whilst playing I would just stand around and manipulate the camera to make these things happen on the screen
  18. WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Rewarding these people for creating this trash is just encouraging them. I managed to play it for about 2 hours before I realised my brain had liquified and was dripping out of my ear. The intro is the best part, it nails the feel of the show, but then it sucker punches you with it's badness. I think the gif from Kotaku's review is perfectly succinct: http://kotaku.com/5991559/the-walking-dead-survival-instinct-is-the-worst-game-ive-played-this-year Worst two hours of my life
  19. Shopto sent me two copies in error, so I'm selling one. Essentials version, still sealed - £10 inc. postage. I would also accept a trade for Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube. Bit random, but I thought I had it and fancy playing it again. PM if interested.

    Tomb Raider

Whoever made that decision needs publicly flogging. The game should never have shipped with multiplayer in the first place

    Tomb Raider

I really enjoyed the combat, as long as I was using the bow. Taking out a massive group of dudes with just a bow feels really badass. The guns are okay but don't feel as good to use. Plus it fits more closely with the narrative rather than running around with a full-on assault rifle or combat shotgun. I kind of wish they'd have only included the bow and left the other weapons out but it may have annoyed people not having the choice. I played one match of the multiplayer, that was enough for me. Left a sour taste in my mouth after the excellent campaign.
  22. I agree with the whole "stick to the lore" standpoint and would rather they did, but mostly I'm not too fussed about what an achievement is called. I don't usually pay much attention to them when playing the game through for the first time. That said, pretty much all of the achievements in Ascension are references to something outside of the lore. I wasn't paying attention to start with but after a while it gets a bit much, I even got a Total Recall reference from a boss this evening which I rolled my eyes at. Can't say I really agreed with Sessler's views on the "Bro's before Ho's" trophy, bit of a storm in a teacup if you ask me. It's just a saying for christ sake, nothing bad enough to get your panties in a twist over. Plus, it's God of War, why would you ever expect anything more from it?? It all ties in to this general feeling where there's always someone that's offended by something. Rather than just let the people who enjoy the thing go ahead and enjoy it, they have to do the whole "vocal minority" shit and not stop until they get their way. I wish easily offended people would just not do the thing they're offended by instead of doing it and shouting about it after the fact. Just doesn't make any sense to me.
  23. The instruction manual?? Oh, you mean the bit of paper that has all the health warnings and stuff on it. Bleh . I wish they'd actually do something with game manuals again, like the Manhunt one. That thing was awesome. The reviews for this are all over the place. Some seem to love it, while others are saying it's decidedly average. One thing I can agree with is that the game's visuals look fucking amazing. I saw one of the declassified sections in which the whole area is obscured with thick dust, looked incredible.

    EA news

I hope it happens. EA have to regain what little respect they had from gamers, which they can do by shelling out for some games that would usually never see the light of day. I'll take a shitty launch period and badly handled PR every so often to get a few new games released.
  25. Probably my biggest meh of the year. I love the Gears story stuff, but this doesn't sound as though it adds a whole lot to it. Not interested in the multi and with a short campaign this will be one I'll pick up when it's cheap I think.
