The voice acting and dialogue for FF16 is what made me interested in it from the release trailer. I’m so tired of the silly, flimsy, toddler like anime dribble. I was trying to mod FF13 over the weekend and played a little bit to test it and my god. Grade A dog shit

16's dialogue is more like FFXIV, or XII. A quaisi-Shakespearean but with a few more 'fucks' thrown in to modernise it a bit. I actually think the dialogue is great tbh, on its main quest anyway. Very well acted as well.

Maf pestering phase 1. Fallout 76? Deathclaws, mutants and stimpaks? Let's just see what I'm offering here: Confirmed: Swords, sorcery, princesses, cleavage, dialogue written by the director's 3 year old niece. Probable: beautiful semi open world, incoherent plot, cleavage, great hair. Hopeful: Big explosions. Unreasonably large enemies who can't really fight, cleavage.

The cast is pretty boring currently tbh, it needs a few more weirdos with unusual gimmicks. GG has that but its whole battle system doesn't reward the investment in gimmickry over straightforwardness. I'm probably going to pick up Ed as he's the most Nero-coded character on the cast, and has some light mid-screen zoning gimmicks.

SF6 has the opposite problem of Strive where there are so many characters I want to play. I like Chun-Li, Lily, Cammy, Zangief, Blanka, Rashid and now Akuma

This is the next DLC character As much as I liked this game I wanna hold off on getting back into it and see if they do something to make heat more interesting to interact with. I'm not a good Tekken player but reading the reddit there's a lot of fatigue with how aggressive the game is. My own scrubby take on heat is it makes matches feel a bit linear as you can't really do anything but block the smash move.

Looks so good. I really prefer the new design over the old one When is the release date for Akuma? At the end it says out now, but unsure if that’s the character or the game I guess he’ll be low health again, right? That’s the new thing about Akuma? Wonder how long he survives in a high damage game Anyway, very cool. And I have that as part of the Season 1 pack so I might just fire it up and play a bit of Akuma just to see

OK, lads. I'm gonna be straight with you. You lot have slept on Children of Morta. No thread on it and I can't find any mention of it outside of this thread? It sort of feels like a predecessor to HADES. Persistent upgrades between roguelike shit. When you die something always happens when you get to home base. Persistent upgrade trees that have levels to them that boost all your classes. Lovely art style. Basic but fun dungeon crawling. It's currently on sale on Steam, I'm not sure of other platforms, but do me a favour and throw them a fiver and enjoy this overlooked gem. -
I still want to play FF16, but won’t be for a week or so. I’ve got 2 other games I want to finish first and I got about 9 hours in to Fallout 76 over the weekend. Really enjoying it and want to play more So still want to play FF16, but going to be a bit delayed

I was never intending to do this, or even play the games back to back on my franchise run, but since I'm becoming a bit 'pixel blind' in my rather enjoyable playthru of FF6, I've decided to open up FF16 as a side game, then letting it take over when I've dealt with the pesky clown boy Kefka. Madness, you say? Perhaps. But it's basically an action game (I tested half an hour when I bought it) and so a completely different experience from 6 so it's what I'd normally do to keep a playthru of a long game like FF 6 fresh. Join in if you have the inclination.

Still don't really know whether to use this topic or the Streaming one, but I've watched the first four episodes of Sugar over the weekend and I think it's pretty good. It's a story about a private detective looking for a missing girl, so as run-of-the-mill as you can get, but it mixes in a couple of different things to spice it up in its own way. The main character, played by Colin Farrel, is a big movie fan so occasionally there's scenes from classic detective films being cut in to mimic what he's doing. It's a purely visual gimmick, but pretty funny. And while it takes place in modern day, the overall vibe and feel is very 60s/70s, so whenever someone takes out a smartphone it feels like an anachronism even if it isn't one, which has to be a deliberate choice. Visually it's an incredibly beautiful production IMO, especially in the way it uses and accentuates colour. And a few episodes in it introduces a whole new thing that reminded me a bit of John Wick lore, without giving too much away. Also has a cute dog and a great opening animation. I realised too late they're doing this weekly release nonsense so I have to wait another three weeks to see the rest. It's an AppleTV thing though, so probably unlikely to appear anywhere else.

I was running around a bit aimlessly during that part, too, but because the world size is manageable I think it's not too bad to just visit every dot on the map to see what happens. Unless you don't have the means to do that yet, but if so the game should still be leading you gentle towards that goal. I ran into one of these nonsense JRPG bosses yesterday who casts the most powerful spell when he dies, which annihilated my party. No amount of Reflect or Shell worked, so I tried But that was one hell of an annoying dungeon and boss. Side note: that Minervia Bustier (armour piece) I found is utterly broken. You can equip it to Terra and Celes and they're borderline immortal because is gives complete immunity towards most elements. And I'm absolutely fine with that.
