I mean the Shujinko clone Player Avatar looks like a complete creative waste of time (as they always are). But the actual characters look really good. Dhalsim and Blanka (maybe dibs) were so fluid in their movement.

Not news. Don't come to me expecting news. I have nought but questions.

All this footage we're seeing at the mo, does anybody know what they're playing on? I ask because I was thinking of getting a PS5 for this. I have 2 excellent sanwa modded sticks for ps 4. To replace them on Xbox would probably be as costly as getting a digital playstation. Obviously there are other games I'm interested, anyway, ff16 for one, so it makes sense.

But I have heard the performance is already a bit off on the Sony console. Not that I'm expecting to be playing at a high level or anything. But I hate shite internet code for online games.

They are probably playing on PC if anything, tho the diff between that and console would be tiny (except for input latency perhaps).

The thing with PS5 bellow is a lot of those things like your modded sanwa sticks might not even work on the ps5 version. That's how it is with every fighting game I get on ps5 anyway, I end up having to load up the ps4 version on ps5 instead so I can use a controller that isn't dualsense. No idea why they limit it like that, can't be a good reason for it but that's how it is sadly

I'm not sure how it is on xbox, the situation might be kind of similar. I don't think playing on last gen is the worst idea tho.

Interesting. my sticks are venom which, apparently, are officially licensed by Sony, and so (they say) are guaranteed to work on 5.

They would say that, tho, wouldn't they. I'll look into it further. Cheers. I suppose you're right about the inconsequential differences in platforms, especially for a casual player. It's net instability that worries me most.

I don't know too much about fighting sticks but I would say it would be common sense that if they say licensed for PS5 on that they will work on PS5, that makes sense to me.

Not heard of any performance issues on PS5, there was an input lag issue on other fighting games like GG Strive due to UE5 but that has been patched out now and it actually performs better than the competition. All alpha/beta software at the moment any way, any issues will be fixed before launch.

Unless you're a big fighting game guy aficionado you won't notice any difference any way I wouldn't of thought. I played on a tv with a bad response time for about 3 years and didn't notice any difference lol.

There won't be any difference with net stability across platforms, if you go on ethernet (or powerline or whatever the best option is).

I find the frame response stuff is more of a reaction thing when you're stuck on defense in games like this, cause it leaves you a more narrow window to escape pressure.

edit a reminder for anyone browsing that the beta participation registration ends on September 30. I only did it now because it was impossible to get in when I posted it before. It's not a 'first come first served' sort of thing so no harm applyihng

Well, licensed by Sony, rather than PS5 specifically. Obviously it was only PS4 when they came out as official sticks. It's venom themselves who are claiming this means they will work on PS5.

I'd hate that, though. I'll try and get some official notification from the company that my plan will work. Otherwise I'll probably stick with Xbox. You can get a cheap venom stick for that, and I'd just harvest the sanwa parts out of one of my sticks to get it up to speed.

It just seems a decent excuse to get a Sony machine , not that I'm massively impressed by their exclusive line up (as yet).

There might be specialised forums who could answer this, maybe somewhere like testyourmight? If the manufacturer says they should work I would've thought they would.

FWIW, most PS5 stuff is cross-buy these days, obviously don't know too much about fighting games specifically though. I will say as well that for me the exclusives there are already worth it, quite a few you can get included with PS+ Extra as well.
