DisturbedSwan
Mine still says awaiting stock/release on TGC.
AndyKurosaki
The email does say something along the lines of “We will ship it as soon as possible in order for you to receive in time of release”. So I’m optimistic it’ll be next week. No worries if it doesn’t, I’ll have Resi 3 to keep me busy.

one-armed dwarf
Mine hasn't shipped yet. I am sad It has shipped now. I am still sad though, because Andy gets to play it first.
AndyKurosaki
Well, I’ve not started playing it quite yet. Much like Red Dead 2, there’s a data disc that needs to install before you can start, which took 50 minutes. And the game takes up about 100gb of storage space. So brace yourselves for that. one-armed dwarf
My dude I've been waiting 15 years, I can handle a little install Monday delivery for me, not bad I suppose.
AndyKurosaki
Yeah I’ve been hyped about this for a very long time. I left it updating while I did some work. Been tough to tear myself away from Resi 3. But I’ve just fired this up now, so it should be a productive evening.
AndyKurosaki
So, it’s been a long time coming. Been ages since we first saw this announced. And yet, here it is. Very much intend to make the most of this, as I absolutely loved the original. The demo is pretty much the entirety of Chapter 1, though there’s a few scenes added that the demo didn’t include. Played through to what feels like the end of Chapter 2. Jesus tapdancing Christ, this looks gorgeous. And I say that playing on my day one PS4. I’m not a massive graphic fanatic, but it’s hard to deny that this is a stunning game visually. I’m loving the throwbacks to the original soundtrack, which was one of the best OSTs of all time. If you’ve played the demo, you’ll know how satisfying the combat feels. One difference I have noted is how summons work. I got a Chocobo summon for pre-ordering. But I couldn’t work out how to actually summon it, as there was no option to do so. Halfway through a fight, a Summon waiting bar appeared, and told me that once that bar fills, the summon shows up. Only I killed all the enemies before that happened. Ah well. Very much looking forward to how this plays out. It’s definitely made a brilliant first impression. one-armed dwarf
?♂️ You should start a thread. Did you know that Bender from Futurama/Marcus Fenix voices Heidegger? That makes me happy. Also Badger is Wedge
AndyKurosaki
I was literally about to put that Wedge is Badger here. That definitely made me smile.
OCH
Summons in the Midgar sequence is just all kinds of wrong ? Admittedly pre-order ones are different, but they shouldn’t be here at all.

OCH
Yeah, if anyone [New to the game] has a thing with trailers giving significant spoilers, I’d recommend Not watching that trailer... Be Warned
Maryokutai
I think the last two trailer already gave away too much. I watched them anyway because I've been getting spoiled about FFVII for all my life but they could have been a bit more careful.
OCH
Definitely. Personally I know the original inside and out. There is nothing [of note] these trailers can spoil for me, but if you missed the boat in '97 (and the numerous subsequent re-releases since) these trailers are practically spelling out the game, beat for beat. Which really isn't fair to the new audience, however, it is what trailers do in this day and age.
