MK8 has continued to expand, I really love it. The latest Splatoon is ace, although I do think I spent more time on the 2nd, so you're right there. I have spent so much time on Switch, probably more than any other console (although Super Monkey Ball on GC also had a huuuuuge time investment).
Maf
Mario day news Mario Movie 2 production starting now and coming out 2026 Paper Mario: TTYD remake releasing 23/05/24 Luigi's Mansion 2 Remake/Port (?) releasing 27/06/24 and Thing I'm most excited about is the LM2 port coming to Switch, just to see how it's handled and what it could say about other 3DS ports. Pikman
It's mad that they are remakes and I will STILL buy them. Will honestly be great to play them again 😅 I have also loved all of the Golf games (apart from the latest), so this is a lovely add!
Maryokutai
The port of Kingdom Come: Deliverance seems to be really good and is getting compared to the Switcher 3: It's a bit odd they decided to put this out on the current system when the successor is most likely at max 12 months away, but I think I might pick this up for the collection sometime. I've rather enjoyed these improbable ports over the last years and people have been saying that this feels like a truer sequel to the Gothic series than Risen or Elex, which sounds interesting.
shinymcshine
KCD was alright - the lock picking and archery certainly required more of the player's hard skills to master than other RPGs required - but the storyline was pretty linear / restrictive.
Maryokutai
Insert my usual rant about this being locked behind a subscription.

I know it doesn't stop it being behind a sub, but it solves it for you
Maryokutai
That's super generous of you but I don't want to be a leech. Plus it's not exactly a monetary issue I have with it, but more of a principle thing. But thanks!
Pikman
TBH, I lost track of who should pay-I can't link the usernames to the people, lol. There are spaces, just PM if you change your mind
Maf
Nintendo won’t be at Gamescom this year https://www.eurogamer.net/nintendo-skipping-gamescom-2024-report I assume this last run of Nintendo games that came out this year up until Paper Mario remake will be the last for Switch 1, and everything else they’re doing is being put in to Switch 2, and Switch 2 still won’t be ready to talk about by August
Maryokutai
A few nice games, Steamworld Heist 2 being a highlight. Also a demo for Cat Quest 3 available now and some stitching puzzle game as a shadow drop that looks way more interesting that I made it sound here.
Maf
Think a tonne of stuff looks really cool there. Although easily the coolest is that Europa game. That looks amazing. But I’d play it on anything other than a Switch. It looks too big and demanding for this system
Maf
Oh, the other game I liked the look of was this Warioland auto runner (?) looking game

I was impressed by how polished it felt. Controls are a bit sluggish though, but it's not a hardcore platformer, but rather something in between Journey and Rime. Maf Posted Wednesday at 08:35 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:35 2 more N64 games this month I I think I played Extreme G. It’s a Wipeout clone. But I never liked Wipeout so didn’t have interest in Extreme G, either I never played Iggy’s Reckin’ Ball, although vaguely recall it. It looks kinda good from the trailer though Oh N64 games make me feel happy with nostalgia but so old and like a mid life crisis is inbound at the same time😞
Pikman Posted Wednesday at 11:40 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:40 Extreme G was great! It looks soooo shit now though, it's hard to imagine how modern this looked at the time 😅
mfnick Posted Wednesday at 11:59 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:59 I had that or 2 back in day. I remember thinking it was very average. F-Zero and Wipeout were leagues ahead.

I don’t remember what it was like on PS1 but those N64 round explosions still look great to me
