It seems there are several differences. I had also forgotten that there were big differences in games back in the PS2/Xbox days. Ubisoft did the same with the Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. the Wii version of that game is totally different to the others and plays a lot more like the Sands of Time trilogy. Bob Posted August 3, 2013 Share Posted August 3, 2013 Splinter Cell: Conviction This was ace. I have finished it twice now and my opinion the first time was pretty much the complete opposite. Now though I really think the new direction they took it in was really brave and it is a bit of a shame that the new one seems to be going back to the previous formula. Although that will happen when you have fanboys like me ranting and raving on the Internet after playing it the first time. The main issue for me was not that you play it as a complete psychopath that wants to kill everything but that the game didn't do a very good job of conveying this. So I spent most of my original playthrough trying to ghost through it which is of course impossible. At least for normals. I'm sure someone has done it. So it was very frustrating. Now that I know though, it is a very fast, brutal experience with a load of variety. The only real goal is to get to the end of the level and the game doesn't penalise you no matter how you play it. Want to be as sneaky as possible and pick them off one by one? Of course. Want to get spotted so you can draw them away and sneak behind? Go ahead. Want to blow everything up with gadgets? Fine. I generally find when I play stealth games I try and do it without being spotted or killing anyone. Dishonoured and Hitman boasted the ability to play however you wanted but I always felt punished for doing anything other than pure stealth. Hitman especially which constantly reminded you of your failures by deducting points whenever the enemy got a whiff of you. Conviction doesn't do that though. If you get spotted then you evolve and find another way to deal with everything. Something most stealth games claim but something so few of them really nail. So now I am hyped for the new one. Woo! I bought this against the very strong advice of a bro because it was only £6 and the graphics are pretty. I really wish I hadn't. It is barely a game really, for the first half the game asks you to follow a series of scripted events and tell your squad mates to kill everything. I think personally, I killed maybe ten guys up until three levels from the end. Firefights were long and boring because the second I would pop out of cover I would get shot or pinned down so my crosshair was all wibbly. So I just hid and told my dudes to kill everything since they didn't seem to have the same problem. The game looked very pretty but the cutscenes were terrible. There was a bit near the end in Russia and it kept cutting to some English news reader. There was no effort to lip sync and he was waving a microphone around like some sort of wartime MC. It was very strange. Then the final cutscene which I am about to ruin for everyone which I'm sure will be very upsetting. So stop reading. Anyway, it features some guy who is like, "Amerikansky you cyan nyot kyill me. Fyollow orders lyke a gyood dyoggy." Then one of the Ghosts is like, "this son of a bitch killed some people (apparently, I stopped caring) we can't just let him live!" But command wanted him to live, don't lay a hand on him they say. So the highly strung chap shoots several times at the floor, "You ain't worth it you red sonofabitch!" Then there is a train coming and they walk off, "you cyan't leave me here! Amerikansky!!!!!" And then the cool black guy (who I may have been playing as, I honestly have no idea which of the generic four I actually controlled) is all like, "they said we couldn't put a hand on you." Better then I was expecting. 11/08/13 - Need for Speed Most Wanted (PS3) It's... fine? I guess. But it really lacks the engagement of the Criterion's last NFS game. Police are nothing but bugs and not a lethal force to be tricked using your abilities and other racers rubberband far too obviously that you wonder why you even bother. It relied a bit too much on going back to previous zones and the rate at which you received stat boosts was really poorly balanced. As in, you got them all at the end. However, it is Adventure Time and it is filled with all the weird characters and silliness you would expect it to be filled with. So if you liked the show, you will probably like this.
