The Messenger developers have launched a Kickstarter for their next game, Sea of Stars.

An rpg in the style of Chrono Trigger. Looks lovely.

I like these kind of projects.

I'm not sure what you've done there

Alice Sisters is a cute platformer game with co-op 2 players mechanics, the game was already released on the SEGA Megadrive/Genesis and Dreamcast console!

The game is currently being ported to the Gameboy Advance and Atari Falcon, I'm planning a port for the Playstation 1 as well.

I'm running this crowdfunding campaign in order to raise funds for the physical production of these ports for the GBA, PS1 and Atari Falcon.

The game features

  • 4 unique worlds
  • 28 levels
  • 4 bosses
  • 4 game modes (from children easy to hardcore gamer mode, and a "think before you play" puzzle mode)
  • Cute graphics
  • An auto save system

The Gameboy Advance version features a multiboot compatibility allowing you to play the co-op 2 players mode using 2 consoles and a link cable using only one cartridge!

I was going to say I'm sure I remember this coming out on Dreamcast the other year, and sure enough it's in that blurb. I'm pretty sure the game I bought the other week (Alice Dream Tournament) is a spin off from it No it wasn't

In terms of price, €35 gets you a boxed CDr of the PS1 game (you need a modded PS1 to play this, or modded PS2 I suppose). €40 gets you the GBA cart unboxed, while €55 gets you the Boxed GBA cart. I think the latter is the one I'd get if I was going to get any

New 'J'RPG from a French indie studio, with music from Motoi Sakuraba, ALZARA Radiant Echoes.

Looks cute I think, and I like how they cite Golden Sun as an influence and talk about elemental puzzles, which to this day no other JRPG has even attempted (I'l try not to think too much about Lost Odyssey being perceived as a classic already though).

Asylum, which I backed all the way back in February 2013, is finally being released on March 6th:

So it’s been in development for at least 12 years.

I backed it because I loved their previous game, Scratches. One of the most haunting and weirdly melancholic games I’ve played.

I’ll probably play this day one.

That's a real shame, I think this looked really neat in the video they released alongside this news:

Though maybe this is also a necessary reminder that Kickstarter is not a platform where you pre-order stuff. Looking over the comments it seems a lot of people still fundamentally misunderstand the whole concept, asking for their money back when it was used to pay the studio's staff over the last year, or not understanding why they were looking for a publisher in the first place.
